"I am praying for you all"

Monday, September 08, 2008

Dear Friends,

When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. The serpent, however, spewed a torrent of water out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with the current. But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth. Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God's commandments and bear witness to Jesus. Revelation 12: 13, 15 17.

We had a very wet day yesterday with rain all morning but intermittent in the afternoon. It finally stopped in the evening and we saw the sun for a short time.

I was at St Mark's Church yesterday morning for the celebration of Holy Mass. The church was about half full. At 11:00 a.m. I celebrated Holy Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, and a large crowd attended. The singing was very good. In the afternoon I was at some neighbors to consecrate their home to the Sacred Heart and to the Immaculate Heart.

This morning I will celebrate Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m. for the double feast of Our Blessed Mother: the Feast of Her birthday and the Feast of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. If the weather cooperates, we will have a procession outside after Mass.

I present you today with another message of Our Blessed Mother addressed to Joseph. My message today is a call to be pro-life and all those who honor Me are asked to be actively working for an end to abortion and euthanasia. I will work to change the laws of this country and of the world to respect life from the moment of conception until natural death. No one has the right to interfere with life especially to kill the defenseless innocent children who have been conceived. I strongly ask all of you,

My children, to believe that human life is present from the moment of conception. That child has a human soul from the first moment and all the faculties of a human being are being developed. The heart of the child starts beating before the first month is over. It is a very serious sin to murder this child in the womb of his mother. All Christians should do all they can to protect this unborn child and welcome him when he is born.

I come to many places all over the world for the conversion of every person so that all may come to believe in My Son Jesus and be saved. I wish to bring every person to My Son Jesus so that each one comes to know Him and turn one?s whole life over to Him and let My Son be the guide throughout his or her life. If they follow My Son Jesus, He will bring them with Him to heaven.

I call you all, My dear children, to consecrate yourselves to Jesus through Me. All who regularly do this will receive an abundance of grace to faithfully follow the teachings of My Son and to be a full member of His Church. Only His Church founded on St. Peter and the other Apostles has all the means to bring you to heaven. Love Jesus, Your Savior and Your Lord, and you will live in close union with Him. I am praying for you all.

Fr Doucette - "Walk in holiness every day" - Sun, Sep 07, 2008

FATHER MELVIN DOUCETTE

"Walk in holiness every day"

Sunday, September 07, 2008

Dear Friends,

During the day, Jesus was teaching in the temple area, but at night he would leave and stay at the place called the Mount of Olives. And all the people would get up early each morning to listen to him in the temple area. Luke 21: 37 38.

It was windy yesterday in the early part of the day but the wind died down and we had a beautiful day. There were clouds but the sun did shine most of the time. Today it is cloudy and it rained during the night. It is not raining now.

I celebrated Holy Mass yesterday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the little shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island in honor of Our Blessed Mother. The little shrine was full of people; many of them had come for the Healing Mass the evening before. Last evening I celebrated Mass at the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, as one priest is on holiday.

This morning I will go to St. Mark's Church, Burton, for Holy Mass at 9:00 a.m. and then I will return to the Sacred Heart Church in Alberton for a second Mass at 11:00 a.m. After the last Mass, I will go straight to a friend's house to consecrate that house and have a meal there with them.

Tomorrow is the great Feast of the Birth of Our Blessed Mother and the Feast of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. I will celebrate Holy Mass at the little shrine at 9:30 a.m. and if the weather permits we will have a procession along the road right after the Mass.

I bring you again today a message from Jesus addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words, It was My joy to go to the temple when I was in Jerusalem to pray and to teach the people there. Many people got up early in the morning to come and listen to what I had to teach them. I would often speak about My Father and what He expected from them.

I always called them to be alert and to work hard so that they would not fall into the temptation of the evil one. I always called Myself the Son of Man.

Many of My words I addressed to the Jewish people are written in the Bible especially in the Gospels. These words are living words and if you read them today, they will definitely touch you and help you to turn to Me, your Lord and Savior. You need the Word of Life to nourish you so that your faith in Me may grow strong.

I exhort you again today that if you love Me, you will come to church to worship the Father and to receive Me in Holy Communion. The Father, who created you, is worthy of deep worship and adoration from every person in the world. With great love, come and thank Him for all that He has done for you. He cares for you at every moment and He loves you intensely. Do not offend Him again and ask Him to pardon you for all your sins of the past. The Father sent Me among you to make Him known and to offer Myself in sacrifice on the cross for your salvation.

You are My friends if you take My words to heart and come to Me in prayer. I will listen to every prayer and grant you all the graces you need. Walk in holiness every day.

Medjugorje Day By Day Sept 09 - SURRENDER ALL YOUR PROBLEMS

"[Jesus] the same Redeemer is present in the sacrament of the Eucharist. In
the stable at Bethlehem He allowed himself to be worshipped under the humble outward appearances of a newborn baby, by Mary, by Joseph and by the shepherds; in the consecrated Host we adore Him sacramentally present in his body, blood, soul and godhead"
(Pope John Paul II, Message for World Youth Day 1995).

Sept 9 Quote of the Day - We must speak to them with our hands before we speak to them with our lips. -St. Peter Claver

Today's Tidbit - The sacramentary is a liturgical book that contains the celebrant's part of the Mass and rites for administration of the sacraments. One of the earliest sacramentaries is the leonine Sacramentary, which was printed during the sixth century.

Mother Teresa -
The more room we give God to fill us.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
God loves us, and this is shown by the fact that He tolerates us when we offend Him.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -

We cannot have tunnel vision

"In a nation, bad blood arises immediately when others are indifferent to our misfortunes. Nothing so spoils a people as a spirit which makes each say, `I am I and you are you, and that's the end of it.' Rather, as the poet said: `We, are we not formed as notes of music are for one another though dissimilar?' "

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
God embraces with His incomprehensible love the soul who lives by His will. I understood how much God loves us, how simple He is, though incomprehensible, and how easy it is to commune with Him, despite His great majesty.

With no one do I feel as free and as much at ease as with Him. Even a mother and her truly loving child do not understand each other so well as God and I do. When I was in that state of communion with God, I saw two particular persons, and their sad interior condition was revealed to me. They were in a sorrowful state, but I trust that they, too, will glorify the mercy of God. (603)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY.

SEPT 9 - SURRENDER ALL YOUR PROBLEMS

The Virgin speaks of surrender and prayer today:

Dear children, today I am calling you to renew your heart. Open yourself to God and surrender to him all your problems and crosses, so that God may transform everything into joy.

Little children, you cannot open yourselves to God if you do not pray. From today, then, decide to consecrate a time and a day solely for an encounter with God in silence. In that way, you will be able, with God's help to witness my presence here. Little children, I do not wish to force you; rather, freely give God your time as the children of God (Monthly Message July 15, 1989).

Psalm 125 also urges us to trust in God:

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,

So the Lord surrounds his people,

Form this time on and forevermore

Psalm 125:1-2

Reflection:
Our Lady of Medjugorje often speaks of trust, of surrendering ourselves completely to the Lord, as an essential step in our spiritual journey. For members of Alcoholics Anonymous, this surrender is a matter of life and death.

Suffering from an incurable addiction that ruthlessly destroys the body, mind, and soul, the only way to arrest the disease is by spiritual means, for simple willpower is useless. The alcoholic must surrender himself and his disease to God, who has the power to do for him what he cannot.

Thus step three of the 12 steps of AA states: "We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood him." From Alcoholics Anonymous:

At the third step, many of us said to our Maker, as we understood him: "God, I offer myself to thee to
build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy
will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help by Thy Power, They Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always!"

With this surrender, a new life opens up for the alcoholic. Our Lady knows that this would also be the case with us, that we too would know a new freedom, peace, and joy in life, if we could but surrender and trust in God.

Application:
Today, abandon yourself to God using the above prayer. From AA

Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary—Sept. 8
"Come, one and all, let us joyfully celebrate the birth of the joy of all the world! Today, departing from the nature of earth, heaven has been formed upon earth. This day is the beginning of the world's salvation" (St. John Damascene). "Who can accompany us better on this demanding journey of holiness than Mary?

Who can teach us to adore Christ better than she? May she help especially the new generations to recognize the true face of God in Christ and to worship, love and serve him with total dedication" (Pope Benedict XVI, August 7, 2005).

Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary—Sept. 8
"Mary is the full-of-grace woman, chosen and prepared by God to bear and
bring up his Son, the world's Saviour . . . . The Mother of the Eucharist
ardently desires to share its graces with us from her privileged position next to her Son's tabernacle-throne" (Mary and the Eucharist).

Sept 8 Quote of the Day - If our life were not under Mary's protection, we might tremble for our perseverance and salvation. -St. Peter Julian Eymard

Mother Teresa -
Surely if God feeds the young ravens which cry to Him, if He nourishes the birds which neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, if He vests the flowers of the field so beautifully, how much more will He care for men whom He has made in His own image and likeness and adopted as His children, if we only act as such.

Meditations by Padre Pio - This heart of mine is Yours… my Jesus, so take this heart of mine, fill it with Your love and then order me to do whatever You wish.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
The Double Side of Sympathy

"What has happened to that double side of sympathy which is the basis of the Christian philosophy of life; `Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep?' It has been said that the wounded deer sheds tears, but it belongs to man to weep with those who weep and by sympathy to divide another's sorrows and double another's joy."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
January 29, 1936. In the evening, when I was in my cell, I suddenly saw a great light and a dark gray cross high up within the light. Suddenly, I found myself caught up close to the cross. I gazed at it intently, but could not understand anything, and so I prayed, asking what it could mean. At that moment I saw the Lord Jesus, and the cross disappeared.

The Lord Jesus was sitting in a great light, and His legs, up to the knees, were drowned in the light so that I could not see them. Jesus bent toward me, looked at me kindly and spoke to me about the will of the Heavenly Father. He told me that the most perfect and holy soul is the one that does the will of the Father, but there are not many such, and that He looks with special love upon the soul who lives His will. And Jesus told me that I was doing the will of God perfectly... and for this reason I am uniting Myself with you and communing with you in a special and intimate way. (603)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

.
SEPT 8 - LOVE

Given to Ivan's prayer group in June, 1986:

Love, If you do not love, you will not be able to give your testimony. You will not be able to witness for either me or for Jesus ( June 6, 1986).

And for Paul, love creates our unity in Christ:

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ's gift (Eph4:4-7).

Reflection:
"We are all parts of one body," Paul says, and we have been given many gifts and abilities. Unity does not just happen; we have to work at it. Often differences among people can lead to division, but this should not be true in the church. Instead of concentrating on what divides us, we are called to remember what unites us: one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one

God.
Have we grown in appreciating those who are differing gifts and viewpoints can help the church as it strives to serve God and his people? With a little effort, we may learn to enjoy the way members of Christ's body complement one another.

Application:
This week, consciously try to be a bridge builder between people at your workplace, in your parish, and in your local community. This is ministry you can practice your whole life long.
