SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."

Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.

FATHER MELVIN DOUCETTE

"I call you to wake up"

Monday, September 22, 2008

Dear Friends,

"A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thornbushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles. A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks." Luke 6: 43 - 45

I give you again another message from Our Lord received by Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, "How can you tell if a person is genuine or not? How can you tell if a person is truly My friend or not?

The Gospels bring you My words that I spoke to the Apostles. I told them that you could tell what sort of person one is by looking at the fruit he or she is producing. You know that a good tree cannot bear rotten fruit. It will always bear good fruit. It is the same for every person.

If you truly believe in Me and you are My friend, you will imitate Me. You will love Me with all your heart and you will love your neighbor as you love yourself. You will follow the commandments and be ready to pardon any person who hurts you. You will pray daily especially your rosary and go to the celebration of the Holy Eucharist every Sunday and during the week if you can.

You will always be ready to serve others especially the poor, the sick or the elderly. You will support good causes and never causes that are against My teaching or the teaching of My Church.

If you say you are a Catholic and you support any of these: abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, pre-marital sex or stem-cell research, your fruit shows that you are not truly My friend. You need to support life from conception to natural death and know that all sex outside of marriage is sinful. How can you go against the law of God and say you are My friend?

My dear friends, I call you to wake up and stand up for what you believe. Do not let others with their false ideas walk over you. Be My witnesses in every part of the world. I died for you, are you ready to suffer for Me? With My strength you will win. I love you."

Medjugorje Day By Day Sept 23 - HAVE A FIRM FAITH

Of the Holy Eucharist, St. Francis of Assisi said: "See the humility of God, brothers, and pour out your hearts before Him."

Mother Teresa -
Love Him trustfully, without looking back and without fear. Give yourself fully to Jesus He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your weakness.

Meditations by Padre Pio - Life is nothing but a continual struggle against one's self, and it does not open to beauty without the price of suffering.

Always keep Jesus company in Gethsemane and He will know how to comfort you in the hours of anguish that will come.

St. Pio of Pietrelcina
September 23, 1968 - Death of Padre Pio

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Just saying you're right doesn't make it right

" The justification for cutting corners, taking bribes and other forms of dishonesty is twofold. First is, `Everybody's doing it.' The assumption here is that right and wrong are questions merely of mob judgment, rather than of standards.

It forgets that right is right if nobody is right, and wrong is wrong if everybody is wrong. A second justification is, `My conscience is clear.' What conscience is not clear if it makes its own standards?

What note on a piano is wrong if the musician who strikes it declares it to be the right note? If a conscience decides that eighteen inches will be a yard, who shall prove him wrong? The atheistic Khrushchev, with all the crimes of the Ukraine on his back, said, `God knows I do right.' "

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
Act of total abandonment to the will of God, which is for me, love and mercy itself.

Act of Oblation

Jesus-Host, whom I have this very moment received into my heart, through this union with You I offer myself to the heavenly Father as a sacrificial host, abandoning myself totally and completely to the most merciful and holy will of my God. From today onward, Your will, Lord, is my food. Take my whole being;

dispose of me as You please. Whatever Your fatherly hand gives me, I will accept with submission, peace and joy. I fear nothing, no matter in what direction You lead me; helped by Your grace I will carry out everything You demand of me.

I no longer fear any of Your inspirations nor do I probe anxiously to see where they will lead me. Lead me, O God, along whatever roads You please; I have placed all my trust in Your will which is, for me, love and mercy itself.

Bid me to stay in this convent, I will stay; bid me to undertake the work, I will undertake it; leave me in uncertainty about the work until I die, be blessed; give me death when, humanly speaking, my life seems particularly necessary, be blessed. Should You take me in my youth, be blessed; should You let me live to a ripe old age, be blessed.

Should You give me health and strength, be blessed; should You confine me to a bed of pain for my whole life, be blessed. Should You give only failures and disappointments in life, be blessed.

Should You allow my purest intentions to be condemned, be blessed. Should You enlighten my mind, be blessed. Should You leave me in darkness and all kinds of torments, be blessed.

From this moment on, I live in the deepest peace, because the Lord Himself is carrying me in the hollow of His hand. He, Lord of unfathomable mercy, knows that I desire Him alone in all things, always and everywhere. (1264)

Quote of the Day

"Look what fame he had, what a worldwide following gathered around him! But why? Perhaps because he was a philosopher? Because he was wise? Because he had resources at his disposal? Because he said Mass humbly, heard confessions from dawn to dusk and was-it is not easy to say it-one who bore the wounds of our Lord. He was a man of prayer and suffering". Pope Paul VI (21 Feb. 1971) commenting on the life of Padre Pio

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

SEPT 23 - HAVE A FIRM FAITH

Of faith, the Virgin once said:
You are, and you will always be, my children. You have followed the path of Jesus, and no one shall stop you from spreading faith in him. You must have firm faith. (FY 9-2-81).

Paul also speaks of faith:

For I am longing to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen you -- or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. (Paul 1:11-12).

Reflection:

It has been said that, "Faith is caught, not taught." Certainly the people closest to us have had a profound influence on our faith, beginning with our parents. As a child I remember, for instance, the great importance m mother placed on Sunday Mass, preparations for which began early in the morning. Somehow she got the five of us groomed, dressed in our good clothes, and transported to the church (how she got herself ready as well I can't say).

Once at mass, we saw her in prayer, of course, after communion, I remember my mother kneeling in thanksgiving, her hands covering her face so as not to be distracted (as the nuns had taught her as a girl).

These things along with our parents' moral code, sacrifices, and faithfulness to us and to each other made a lifelong impression on us kids.

Even such seemingly minor things as grace before meals, the rosary on our mother's night stand, and the crucifix on the living room wall, had a lasting effect. Taken all together we could not help but catch the faith, for its evidence was all around us.

Application:

How can you, without words, pass on the faith to your family? Is there more that you could do?

FO OUR PERILOUS ECONOMIC TIMES- TO BE USED BY LITURGICAL CHURCH MEMBERS (and otherswho so feelthe Spirit):

Jesus I trust in You. Mary take over.
