"Be part of My family"

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Dear Friends,

I celebrated Holy Mass yesterday at 9:30 a.m. at the little shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island and a good number of people were present. In the evening I was at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, for the French Mass. A small group attended. A group of religious sisters came to visit the little shrine yesterday afternoon and they stayed for over one hour. I prayed and laid my hands on each of them before they left.

Many people are to come here this week and I will have a healing Mass on Thursday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m. There will be another healing Mass on October 3rd, the first Friday of the month, and I will be with Frank Kelly at our local Church here.

Here is a message given by Our Lord to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, "Many people followed Me during My public life on earth. They would walk for days to attend My talks and to be healed of every kind of illness. I gave a healing to everyone who asked for it.

I always had compassion on the sick, the lame, the blind and the disabled. I also chased away many evil spirits from the people often brought to Me by their relatives. The people knew that power came from Me to heal them.

My power is still at work today as it was when I was living on earth. Many have been given the gift of healing, which means that My power of healing goes through them to heal all those who are sick in any way.

I ask today as I did in the past that they believe in Me as their Lord and Saviour and that they have confidence that I will heal them. If they do not believe or they doubt that I can heal them, they will remain in their sickness. I could not cure many people in My hometown because they did not believe in Me.

I cure today many people throughout the world. My followers live in every country of the world and if they come to Me or one appointed by Me to help them, I will surely hear their cry and heal them in body and in spirit. I know that a healing strengthens the faith and love of those who believe and their fervor in prayer increases too.

They become close to Me and they are My friends. I want you all to be My friends and that you live in union with Me. I will give you the graces you need to avoid sin and to follow the commandments. Be part of My family and love one another."

"Come close to Jesus"

Dear Friends,

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him. He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.

He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly. The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever." Luke 1: 46 - 55

Here is the message Our Blessed Mother gave to Joseph. She spoke to him saying, "Great joy filled My heart when the Angel Gabriel announced to Me that I would be the Mother of Jesus, the Son of God. Jesus is the Messiah, the Saviour of the world.

When the angel came I was troubled at his words of greeting but he explained what God wanted of Me. The Father had chosen Me as the Mother of His Son, the Messiah whom the Father had predicted at the beginning of the world after the sin of Adam and Eve.

That day after I gave My consent saying, 'May it be done according to your word,' I became pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit. I was told that My cousin Elizabeth was also with child and I went with haste to the hill country to visit her. It is there that I said the Magnificat filled with joy.

Now the Saviour of the world had entered the world although hardly anyone knew about it yet. A new era would begin for all the people because their Lord would soon be born and He will bring the people out of darkness into His marvelous light. He had been awaited for thousands of years and now He was very close. Jesus came for all of us because He loves us and He wants us all to be with Him in heaven one day.

Rejoice with Me by praying the Magnificat today. I am your Mother who loves you and prays for you constantly. Come close to Jesus and He will bless you and transform you.

Believe in Him with all your heart and become His friend. If you come to Me, I will bring you to My Son Jesus so that you may receive the graces you need to avoid evil and do good. I love you."

"I bless you"

Dear Friends,

Soon afterward he journeyed to a city called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd accompanied him. As he drew near to the gate of the city, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. A large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her and said to her, Do not weep. He stepped forward and touched the coffin; at this the bearers halted, and he said, Young man, I tell you, arise! The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Luke 7: 11 15

I will now give you the message of the Lord given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words, I healed many people during My public life. I even brought the dead back to life as in the case of this young man who had died and was the only son of his mother and she was a widow.

I simply placed My hand on the dead and said these words, Young man, I tell you, arise! Immediately he came to life, sat up and began to speak and I gave him to his mother. What joy filled her heart and all the people were glorifying God.

I healed this young man because I had pity on his mother who was left alone. Another reason why I healed him was to show the people that I had divine power because only God can bring the dead back to life.

This is told to you today so that you will accept Me as your Lord and Saviour and that you will believe in Me with all your heart. If you have faith in Me, such a healing can strengthen your faith in Me. You know that I am raised from the dead never to die again. I am active in every part of the world calling you to follow Me and showing you the great love I have for you.

Come close to Me through prayer, participating in the liturgy of the Eucharist, receiving Me at Mass and offering yourself completely to Me to do the will of the Father. In this way, you will be My friend and I will keep you near My Heart. I bless you.

Medjugorje Day By Day Sept 22 - PROLONG YOUR PERSONAL PRAYER

"With your substance you have fed that same Jesus who every day gives me life, your life, O Mary, that very life which he owes you. Every drop of his blood you gave him so that it should be mine. With your virgin milk you fed him so that he might die on the Cross and open the gates of heaven for me. My beloved Mother, it is to you, then, that I owe my happiness which I enjoy in contemplating him" (Concepcion Cabrera de Armida, Servant of God).

Of the Holy Eucharist, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton wrote: "Can there be any comparison to this blessedness? Adored Lord, increase my faith, perfect it, crown it."

Mother Teresa wrote in her own hand to Denis Nolan April 8 1992
"We are all praying one Hail Mary before Holy Mass to Our Lady of Medjugorje." Medjugorje and the Church, Sr Emmanuel & Denis Nolan p 18

Mother Teresa -
Love Jesus generously.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
I belong entirely to everyone. Everyone can say: "Padre Pio is mine." I deeply love my brothers in exile. I love my spiritual children as much as my own soul and even more. I have regenerated them to Jesus through suffering and love. I can forget myself but not my spiritual children, indeed I can assure you that when the Lord calls me I will say to Him: "Lord, I will remain at the gates of Paradise; I will go in when I have the last of my children enter."

I suffer so much because I cannot win all my brothers for God. At times I am on the point of dying of heartache on seeing so many suffering souls without being able to relieve them and so many brothers allied to satan.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Sincere Honesty and Insincere Honesty

" Abraham Lincoln once said, `If, in your judgment, you cannot be an honest lawyer, resolve to be honest without being a lawyer.' It has often been said, `Honesty is the best policy,' on the grounds that it will keep you out of trouble and make you admired. Someone has remarked concerning it, `He who acts upon this principle is not an honest man.'

It would seem however, that there is some decline in honesty, for there is now one major crime committed in the United States for every sixty persons. In the last ten years, the crime rate in the United States has been exploding at a rate four times as fast as the rate of the growth of our population."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
Today during meditation, God gave me inner light and the understanding as to what sanctity is and of what it consists. Although I have heard these things many times in conferences, the soul understands them in a different way when it comes to know of them through the light of God which illumines it.

Neither graces, nor revelations, nor raptures, nor gifts granted to a soul make it perfect, but rather the intimate union of the soul with God. These gifts are merely ornaments of the soul, but constitute neither its essence nor its perfection. My sanctity and perfection consist in the close union of my will with the will of God. God never violates our free will. It is up to us whether we want to receive God's grace or not. It is up to us whether we will cooperate with it or waste it. (1107)

In spite of the profound peace my soul is enjoying, I am struggling continuously, and it is often a hard-fought battle for me to walk faithfully along my path; that is, the path which the Lord Jesus wants me to follow. And my path is to be faithful to the will of God in all things and at all times, especially by being faithful to inner inspirations in order to be a receptive instrument in God's hands for the carrying out of the work of His fathomless mercy. (1173)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

SEPT 22 - PROLONG YOUR PERSONAL PRAYER

The following was a message given to Jelena's prayer group:

Pray! But when I always ask you to pray, it does not mean that your prayers are not good. But I call you to prolong your personal prayer, and to pray more intensely for others (LJM 11-17-83).

In Luke's gospel, Jesus speaks of persistence in prayer:

And he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say to him, `Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has arrived, and I have nothing to set before him.' And he answers from within, `Do not bother me; the door has already been locked; and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.' I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, at least because of his persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.

"So I say to you, ask and it will be given you' search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." (Luke 11:5-10).

Reflection:

One little beaver caused a dike to collapse in England several years ago. After the animal had burrowed through the embankment of a canal, water began seeping through. Slowly but surely the original trickle became a sizable stream. Soon one bank collapsed and a forty-foot breakthrough let the water pour out in torrents.

Three million gallons of water escaped; the canal was drained for seven miles; more than one million fish were swept away and a twenty foot gorge was channeled through a nearby field. It took sixty men with bulldozers three weeks to shift 30,000 tons of soil and repair the damages.

As one small beaver caused tremendous harm, so can one individual in prayer start a chain reaction that will benefit all of God's people.

We may never be aware in this life of the far-reaching effects of our prayer, but gathered by Mary to the prayers of countless others, they have clearly changed the world since that first June day in 1981. What she will accomplish in the future with this steady stream of prayers we can only imagine!

Application:

Today simply heed Our Lady's advice: "I invite you to prolong your personal prayer, and to pray more for others."

Medjugorje Day By Day Sept 21 - ST. MATTHEW

Mother Teresa -
Give yourself unswervingly, conforming yourself in all things to His holy will.

Meditations by Padre Pio - To see suffering makes me very unhappy! I would gladly stab myself in the heart to take away suffering from someone! Yes, this would be very easy for me! (T 121).

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Without kindness to others, our well of graces dries up

" Wells are made sweeter for the drawing. Those from which no one draws water for beast and fellow human being become polluted. Riches too become more peaceful when used as fuel for charity. The poor cannot reward us for hospitality; therefore God will have to do so. It was these He asked us to invite to our dinners, and it is interesting to note that He always called them, not meals but `banquets.'"

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
Today, the doctor decided that I am to stay here until April. It is God's will, even though I did want to be back in the company of my sisters. (972)

I understood that these two years of interior suffering which I have undergone in submission to God's will in order to know it better have advanced me further in perfection than the previous ten years. For two years now, I have been on the cross between heaven and earth. That is to say, I am bound by the vow of obedience and must obey the superior as God himself. And on the other hand, God makes His will known to me directly, and so my inner torture is so great that no one will either understand or imagine these spiritual sufferings. It seems to me that it would be easier to give up my life than to go again and again through one hour of such pain. I am not even going to write much about this matter, because one cannot describe what it is like to know God's will directly and at the same time to be perfectly obedient to the divine will as expressed indirectly through the superiors. Thanks be to God that He has given me a director; otherwise, I would not have advanced one single step. (981)

Quote of the Day - After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the customs named Levi sitting at the customs post. He said to him "Follow me." And leaving everything behind, he got up and followed him. -Lk 5:27-28

Today's Tidbit - Matthew is often represented by an image of a winged human being in iconography. Mark is represented by a winged lion. Luke is represented by an ox. John is represented by an eagle.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

SEPT 21 - ST. MATTHEW

The virgin gives an appropriate message for this feast of Matthew, author of the first gospel:

Dear children, today I ask you to read the Bible in your homes everyday. Place it in a visible place there, where it will always remind you to read it and pray (WM 10-18-84).

And, of course, the call of Matthew:

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him.

And as he sat at dinner in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and were sitting with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" But when he heard this, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, "I desire mercy, not sacrifice." For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners (Matthew 9:9-13).

Reflection:

One of the hallmarks of Christ's teaching was to love impartially all of God's children, to "hate the sin but love the sinner," to "judge not lest you be judged." This is especially clear in today's gospel passage. Having scandalized the Pharisees by associating with tax collectors and known sinners, Jesus responds to their accusations by saying simply, "People who are in good health do not need a doctor; sick people do."

The reasons for this impartial or unconditional love are several: 1) Our Lord requests this of us, reserving judgment to himself. Again from Matthew's gospel: "his sun rises on the bad and the good, he rains on the just and the unjust" (Mt 5:45). 2) We cannot see deeply or clearly into the heart of another person; only God has this ability and so only he can judge fairly. We are put in mind of Jesus' remarks about the speck in our neighbor's eye, and the plank in our own. 3) In judging others we run the risk of pride, one of the seven deadly sins. 4) Christ calls us to love others unconditionally like the Father, even our enemies and persecutors: "I give you a new commandment: Love one another. Such as my love has been for you, so must your love be for each other. This is how all will know you are my disciples: your love for one another" (Jn 13:34-35).

Application:

On this feast, let us pray for the grace to love unconditionally, and for the serenity which is the fruit.

"One thought especially ought to incite us to devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament, namely the nearness of God, His abiding with us. Mindful of His promise: 'Behold, I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world'
(Matt. 28:20), our God finds His delight to dwell among us" (The Blessed Sacrament: God With Us).

"Run to the feet of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament" (St. Padre Pio).

Medjugorje Day BY Day Sept 20 - SEPT 20 - PRAY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

"There must be someone . . . who will speak for Thy Son [in the Holy Eucharist], for He has never defended Himself. Let this be the task for us" (St. Teresa of Avila).

Mother Teresa -
Believe in Jesus trust in Him with blind and absolute confidence because He is Jesus. Believe that Jesus and Jesus alone is life and sanctity is nothing but that same Jesus intimately living in you; then His hand will be free with you.

Meditations by Padre Pio - All of us are not called by God to save souls and propagate His glory by the noble apostolate of preaching… (but) one can promote God's glory and work for the salvation of souls by means of a truly Christian life, by praying without ceasing that "His Kingdom come…" that "we may not be led into temptation" and that "He deliver us from evil." This is what you ought to do offering yourself continually to the Lord for this purpose.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Whatever you do, you do it to Christ!

" On the Last Day, Our Blessed Lord said that He will judge us by our attitude to hospitality: `When did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and not care for You?' (Matthew 25: 44). Hospitality, therefore, not only has the duties of which we are aware, but also the more terrible awareness that it is Christ Who is the Stranger. In all our dealings, we are dealing with the Lord Himself, though we know it not. Maybe if we could see our wars aright, in between two trenches of the enemies, or between a plane in the sky and the target beneath, there is Christ's Body being shot full of holes. What men do to one another, they do to Him, whether the act be of kindness or bitterness. "

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -

February 15, 1937. Today, I heard these words in my soul: Host pleasing to My Father, know, My daughter, that the entire Holy Trinity finds Its special delight in you, because you live exclusively by the will of God. No sacrifice can compare with this. (955)

After these words, the knowledge of God's will came to me; that is to say, I now see everything from a higher point of view and accept all events and things, pleasant and unpleasant, with love, as tokens of the heavenly Father's special affection. (956)

The pure offering of my will burn on the altar of love. That my sacrifice may be perfect, I unite myself closely with the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. When great sufferings will cause my nature to tremble, and my physical and spiritual strength will diminish, then will I hide myself deep in the open wound of the Heart of Jesus, silent as a dove, without complaint. Let all my desires, even the holiest, noblest and most beautiful, take always the last place and Your holy will, the very first. The least of Your desires, O Lord, is more precious to me than heaven, with all its treasures. I know very well that people will not understand me; that is why my sacrifice will be purer in Your eyes. (957)

Dailys - http://www.catholic-forum.com/e-pistle.html -
Sept 20 Quote of the Day - The Korean Church is unique because it was founded entirely by lay people. This fledgling Church, so young and yet so strong in faith, withstood wave after wave of fierce persecution. Thus, in less than a century, it could boast of 10,000 martyrs. The death of these many martyrs became the leaven of the Church and led to today's splendid flowering of the Church in Korea. Even today their undying spirit sustains the Christians of the Church of Silence in the north of this tragically divided land. -Pope John Paul II, speaking at the canonization in 1984

Today's Tidbit - Pope John XXI was designated as such, eliminating the name of John XX, in an effort to fix a problem that had arisen during the time of John XV (995) concerning the numerical designation of popes named John. This problem is thought to have arisen because of poor record keeping, and the development of the tradition of popes changing their names upon election to the papacy.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

SEPT 20 - PRAY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Our Lady speaks today of the Holy Spirit:

The important thing is to pray to the Holy Spirit that he may descend upon you. When you have him, you have everything. (FY 10-21-83

In John's gospel, Jesus also speaks of the Holy Spirit:

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you (John 14:16-17).

Reflection:

"Pray to the Holy Spirit," the Blessed Mother tells us today; and Jesus assures us that the Spirit" abides with you and is in you."

Let us then use this time to pray to the Spirit, using St. Augustine's Prayer for the Indwelling of the Spirit:

Holy Spirit, powerful Consoler, sacred Bond of the Father and the Son, Hope of the afflicted, descend into my heart and establish in it your loving dominion. Enkindle in my tepid soul the fire of your Love so that I may be wholly subject to you.

We believe that when you dwell in us, you also prepare a dwelling for the Father and the Son. Deign, therefore, to come to me, Consoler of abandoned souls, and Protector of the needy. Help the afflicted, strengthen the weak, and support the wavering.

Come and purify me. let no evil desire take possession of me. You love the humble and resist the proud. Come to me, glory of the living, and hope of the dying. Lead me by your grace that I may always be pleasing to you.

Application:

Continue to use this prayer throughout the week to deepen your devotion to the Spirit of God

SHORT PRAYER FOR THESE TIMES TO PRINT AND TYPE..

My Darling, Merciful, Loving Papa, open our eyes and our hearts and especially our spiritual ears to see your love in the splendor of creation, in the beauty of human life.

We are the work of your hands. Touched by YOU, our world is holy. Help us to cherish the GIFTS that surround us, to share your blessings with our brothers and sisters and to experience the joy of life in YOUR PRESENCE.

We commend to YOU our whole world, all countries and races, nations and people, both young and old, rich and poor.

Send YOUR MOST HOLY SPIRIT to bring TRUTH AND PEACE to ALL our hearts, peace to our families, peace to our country and peace to all nations.

We ask YOU this is JESUS' ALL POWERFUL NAME, TODAY AND EVERYDAY. AMEN!

Have Confidence

The waters have risen and severe storms are upon us,

but we do not fear drowning,

for we stand firmly upon a rock.

Let the sea rage, it cannot break the rock.

Let the waves rise, they cannot sink the boat of Jesus.

What are we to fear?

Death?

Life to me means Christ, and death is gain.
Exile?
The earth and its fullness belong to the Lord.
The confiscation of our goods?
We brought nothing into this world,

and we shall surely take nothing from it.

I concentrate therefore on the present situation,

and I urge you, my friends,

to have confidence.

St. John Chrysostom, Liturgy of the Hours, Vol IV, p. 1377

Lord, may everything we do begin with Your inspiration and continue with Your help,
so that all our prayers and works may begin in You and by You be happily ended.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

From the Father

Son, be an instrument to echo my voice to the people.
I am speaking as lucidly and extensively as I AM doing these days and by that, you will get the clear comprehension that I AM bringing my kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

I wish people to become ready before my son Jesus comes again that I AM now pouring out my spirit as prophesied thru the Prophet Joel.

Message Reception Ended: 7:00 AM Duration: 10 Minutes

Scripture Reference:

Joel 2:28-32 (New International Version)
The Day of the LORD

28 "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

30 I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

32 And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

MY DEAR DEAR PRECIOUS LITTLE CHILDREN,
AS YOU GATHER HERE IN PRAYER, YOU'RE REMINDED OF THE DEVASTATION OF
SIN IN THE WORLD. YOU SEE THE GROUNDS YOU SO LOVED RIPPED APART AND
MADE UGLY. THE WORLD IS ALSO NOW UGLY. SIN AND INDIFFERENCE HAS CAUSED
THIS. BUT JUST AS THE WORK BEGINS, AND SOMETHING COMES TO BE THAT IS
NO LONGER UGLY, BUT PLEASANT TO THE EYE, SO TOO WILL THE WORLD COME
INTO A NEW APPEARANCE. JESUS WILL BRING ABOUT A NEW HEAVENS AND NEW
EARTH AND ONCE MORE BEAUTY WILL ABOUND AND YOUR HEARTS WILL NO LONGER
BE HEAVY, BUT UPLIFTED AND JOYFUL.

THE WORLD HAS DEPARTED FROM GOD. ONLY FEW PRAY. BUT THOSE WHO PRAY ARE
POWERFUL AND THESE PRAYERS WILL BE THE HOPE OF THE WORLD.

DEAR CHILDREN, I ESPECIALLY GREET THOSE WHO HAVE TRAVELED LONG
DISTANCES TO PRAY HERE WITH THE MOTHER OF GOD. THOUGH THE SURROUNDING
BEAUTY HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY FOR THE MOMENT, THE GRACE THAT IS AVAILABLE
TO YOU HERE IS BEYOND WORDS. I ENCOURAGE ALL OF YOU TO OPEN YOURSELVES
TO THIS GRACE. LET ME FILL YOU TO OVERFLOWING. THEN WHEN YOU MUST
ENTER THE WORLD AND ITS CORRUPTION ONCE MORE, YOU ARE MADE READY TO
STAND FIRM AGAINST ALL EVIL, AND BE A BEACON IN A DARK WORLD.

I DRAW YOU ALL DEEP WITHIN MY HEART. THERE I BLESS EACH OF YOU IN
ACCORDANCE TO YOUR NEEDS. I DO THIS FOR YOU IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER,
THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. I GIVE THIS BLESSING WITH DEEPEST LOVE.
I DESIRE THAT YOU ACCEPT THE BLESSING OF CHRIST FROM MY PRIEST• SONS
AND THEN GIVE PRAISE AND THANKS TO GOD, NOW AND FOREVER.

Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism,

Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,

Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,

Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.

I arise today

Through the strength of the love of cherubim,

In obedience of angels,

In service of archangels,

In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,

In the prayers of patriarchs,

In preachings of the apostles,

In faiths of confessors,

In innocence of virgins,

In deeds of righteous men.

I arise today

Through the strength of heaven;

Light of the sun,

Splendor of fire,

Speed of lightning,

Swiftness of the wind,

Depth of the sea,

Stability of the earth,

Firmness of the rock.

I arise today

Through God's strength to pilot me;

God's might to uphold me,

God's wisdom to guide me,

God's eye to look before me,

God's ear to hear me,

God's word to speak for me,

God's hand to guard me,

God's way to lie before me,

God's shield to protect me,

God's hosts to save me

From snares of the devil,

From temptations of vices,

From every one who desires me ill,

Afar and anear,

Alone or in a mulitude.

I summon today all these powers between me and evil,

Against every cruel merciless power that opposes my body and soul,

Against incantations of false prophets,

Against black laws of pagandom,

Against false laws of heretics,

Against craft of idolatry,

Against spells of women and smiths and wizards,

Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.

Christ shield me today

Against poison, against burning,

Against drowning, against wounding,

So that reward may come to me in abundance.

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,

Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,

Christ on my right, Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,

Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,

Christ in the eye that sees me,

Christ in the ear that hears me.

I arise today

Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,

Through a belief in the Threeness,

Through a confession of the Oneness

Of the Creator of creation
