Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary Protectress of Africa

Holy Mary, Mother of God, Protectress of Africa, you have given to the world the true Light, Jesus Christ. Through your obedience to the Father and the grace of the Holy Spirit, you have given us the source of our reconciliation and our justice, Jesus Christ, our peace and our joy.

Mother of Tenderness and Wisdom, show us Jesus, your Son and the Son of God. Guide our path of conversion, so that Jesus might shine his glory on us in every aspect of our personal, familial and social lives.

Mother, full of Mercy and Justice, through your docility to the Spirit, the Counselor, obtain for us the grace to be witnesses of the Risen Lord, so that we will increasingly become the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Mother of Perpetual Help, we entrust to your maternal intercession the preparation and fruits of the Second Special Assembly for Africa. Queen of Peace, pray for us! Our Lady of Africa, pray for us!

On Sainthood From A Modern Mystic Who Served in Africa

“Jesus wants us all to be saints,” reports Father Melvin Doucette. “You might think you cannot reach the heights of Saint Padre Pio, Mother Theresa, or Brother Andre of Montreal. These saints have been recognized by the church.”

Doucette said that every person who enters heaven is a saint. “So if you want to go to heaven, you want to become a saint. ”
He went on to answer how one becomes a saint.

“Repent our sins. And with the Lord's help to sin no more, make a firm commitment. Jesus says we must weed out our bad habits, one at a time. We are called to be people of prayer,” the mystic said.

”Go to Church regularly. Receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Our relationship with Jesus must grow as He molds us into saints. Come to Him to heal our hearts and empty it of all resentment, anger, fear, and pride.”

Doucette said, “Jesus loves a humble heart, filled with faith and love for God and neighbor. Put Jesus first in our lives and be ready to cooperate with His graces every day.”

BLACK CONTROVERSY-REDUX

Those of us older (elders, men and women) have continually heard throughout our lives, “YOU PEOPLE (grrrrrrrrrrrrr, the words of death) are always ringing up race” . Well we were constantly reminded of “our place”. And it is now that rightful place in the Mystical Body of Christ we reclaim.

Americans were fond of saying in the 17th, 18th, 19th centuries, “If you have one drop of black blood, you are black".

For this book, we took cognizance of anyone coming "out of Africa,” as black. Further, we submit many of the Black Africans in old times probably looked like the Creoles, of Louisiana, or the Mestizoes, of South America (mixed, Black and Indian, or otherwise).
As Grandma used to say, we got 'em "snow to crow". So we who are of the melanin don't have to explain, eh?

FAITH OF OUR FATHERS
Or
Why so many African saints came out of the early Christian Church

This tome strives not for apologetics, nor to cast aspersions, blame, nor negative any European or other contributions to the Church Christian (Mystical body of Christ). We seek rather to correct the misconceptions of Eurocentric thinking stemming from the age of the “mass kidnapping,” or ne: “colonialism,” regarding our stolen Black heritage within the original church and its progenitor.

But as the European is falling away, we celebrate of our Black involvement in the Christian Church since before the beginning (See Amenhohop IV-“there is One God” promulgations.

To facilitate enslavement and artificial class status/barriers, Europeans concocted a "one drop rule.” It proved viciously applied in the American culture of slavery. Ok! We adopt it for our definitions. “Anybody with “one drop" of black blood is black.”

Nineteenth century case jurisprudence (American law) further defined us in the Chinese Exclusion Cases of the 1880s, "Anybody who is not white is black.”

After reading the below, one can see that Blacks have been members of the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic church (and its predecessors even before the beginning. (See the Essennes and the African Therapeutae).

AFRICA NOT ALWAYS ITS NAMED

AFRICA! Also known as Ta Merri (Ptah Merri) Akebulan (during the conquests of the Armies of Islam), and Azania/Azaria. Irrefutable (some say) birthplace of humankind and civilization. Modern man’s most old home.

Some scholars say, Akebulan--from the time of the conquest of the Prophet's armies. Still others say Azaria.

Early Africans didn’t call themselves such! Traditionally, the word for the continental area was TaMeri/ Ptah Merri (Later during the Arabs conquest, Akebulan).

Geologists posit it the continent once formed Gondwanaland, together with Western Australia, South America, and the Indian Deccan Plateau. That enormous land mass rupture by the force of continental drift.

Among all old civilizations, only an African one remains. Babylon, Assyria, and Phoenicia are gone. Egypt—Kemet—remains.

Analysis of some 800 skulls from pre-dynastic Kemet from the lower Nile River Valley, pre-dating 3,000 B.C. prove at least a third of demonstrably Black ancestry.

And a recent study of African languages confirms that remote ancestors of modern Africans were important, perhaps dominant among the people founding the old Egyptian (Kemetian) civilizations.

Further evidence suggests:

Egypt, Nubia, and the Sudan shared a common Stone Age (50,000 to 3,000 years before Christ) culture until about 2800 B.C. Progressive farming methods in the lower Nile River caused Kemet to leap ahead.

Some anthropologists say the findings show Blacks to be a Hamitic people who lived from East Africa to Uganda, Kenya, and Somali.

Others object, disregarding their own definitions. They claim Hamites to be the result of an old Black-white mixture. And they say Hamites and other Mediterranean dark-skinned people are white. Yeah! Right!
(Got that swamp land to sell for those so gullible).

Says other prominent anthropologists: Anthropologically, excepting certain facial characteristics, the East African Hamitomorphs are to be considered typically Black.

Until quite recently, worlds atlases list as North and East Africa parts of Uganda, and Congo (Kinshasa), Chad, Nigeria, Sudan, Mali, Upper Volta, Mauretania, Spanish Sahara, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Dahomey, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, the Cameroons, Liberia, and the nation many seem to forget sits upon the African Continent-EGYPT (Kemet).

The Habiru have returned en masse since 1948 to Israel. This country is only a few miles from the African continent.

Sub racially, Jews are Semites. Experts feel their Semitic language dates around 1,000 B.C. and are related to a larger Fertile Crescent group from around the Tigris and Euphrates River Valley of Mesopotamia, to the Nile River Valley in Africa.

Some say Afro-Asian or Semito-Hamitic, here meaning, related African language bonds link Northwest African ties beyond Egypt (Kemet) to the Berber-Libyan west.

The Cushite languages of the South and Upper Nileto the Chad group of the Sudan are also included.

Therefore, Semitic languages before Muslim and non-Arabic African are linked to the African-speech groups, “North –South along the Nile and East-West across the Sahara, and to some extent, the sub-Sahara, Sudanic belt.

Even the Wolof tribal language in Senegal, has some words which remarkably resemble the languages of Old Kemet (Egypt).

Ethiopia As Cush

Many wonder why Ethiopia was called Abyssinia, Cush, Kush, and Nubia. Different people call other different people by various names.

Dear Friends,

Jesus' Departure; Coming of the Advocate

Jesus said, "I did not tell you this from the beginning, because I was with you. But now I am going to the one who sent me, and not one of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' But because I told you this, grief has filled your hearts.

But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes he will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation: sin, because they do not believe in me; righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; condemnation, because the ruler of this world has been condemned.

I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you." John 16:4-15

Here is a message from Our Lord and Savior given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words, "I spoke at times to the Apostles about the coming of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Blessed Trinity.

I had to return to the Father in heaven so that the Father and I could send the Holy Spirit upon you and all those who believe in Me. The Holy Spirit is the Advocate, the Spirit of truth, and He will convict the world in regard to sin, righteousness and condemnation. He is the one who will guide you. He will bring you to holiness and truth.

The Holy Spirit did come at Pentecost and renewed the Apostles and all those who were present that day in the upper room. All were changed and filled with great power and boldness to spread the Word I had given them. Now prepare yourselves for the New Pentecost is at hand and He will bring you all great faith and you will accept Me in all truth.

He will bring you to repentance, to strive for holiness and to condemn the ruler of this world. You will receive the strength to oppose the evil one in your life and to come and follow Me. Call on the Holy Spirit to come with all His power upon you to renew you, to be ready to do all that I ask of you and to be men and women of prayer. I bless you all."

FATHER MELVIN DOUCETTE

"I am praying for all of you"
Saturday, May 09, 2009

Dear Friends,

The First Community in Jerusalem

When they entered the city they went to the upper room where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. Acts 1:13-14

I now give you below the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Joseph. She spoke to him in these words, "It is with joy that I come to you today Saturday, the day the Church usually honors Me. The great Feast of Pentecost is approaching, and I desire that it be celebrated in a very special way.

I was present with the Apostles at the first Pentecost in the Upper Room in Jerusalem. Many of us were present in that famous room when the Holy Spirit came. All experienced a filling of the Holy Spirit and saw the tongues of fire on the head of every person.

They were filled with joy and they began to speak in tongues and everybody understood them in their own language. The fear of the Jews these people had simply disappeared and they became strong in witnessing to their Lord and Savior. They unbolted the doors and Peter went out to speak to the people that had gathered. That day the Church was born and thousands of people were baptized.

The Father together with My Son Jesus are preparing for a New Pentecost. They want to send the Holy Spirit on all the people of the world who believe in Jesus, their Savior, in order to have a new awakening among them all.

The Spirit will come to strengthen their faith, to give them a great desire to pray, to call them to repent of all their sins, to renew their whole spirit and to bring them back to Jesus, My Son, and to His Church. Prepare, My children, for the coming of this New Pentecost.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will revive many of the people and renew them completely. These days I am praying for all of you to open your hearts to the Holy Spirit so that He may fill you completely. Let the New Pentecost spread throughout the world to bring many people to My Son Jesus. I bless you all."

"Pray for the New Pentecost"
Friday, May 08, 2009

Dear Friends,

The Ascension of Jesus

When the Apostles had gathered together they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom of Israel?" He answered them, "It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, "Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky?

This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven." Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away. Acts 1:6-12

We had rain yesterday and today but it was light rain. It will still rain for a few days until this storm is gone by.

Yesterday I had to go to the Hospital in Charlottetown early in the morning to bring my brother to see a specialist. His appointment was very early so I did not have time to receive and write the message. I'm sorry that I did not let you know but it was late the night before that I heard I had to take him to Charlottetown, two hours away.

Here now is the message of Our Lord addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke these words to him, "After My resurrection, I appeared to the Apostles for a period of forty days and then I ascended into heaven. I told them before I left them that the Holy Spirit would come upon them and they would receive great power. They would be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in every part of the world.

It was important that I leave so that the Holy Spirit could come upon them. The Spirit comes as the anointed one and fills all those who believe with His power. The Holy Spirit is also called fire and John the Baptist said that I would baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

The Spirit appeared on the Apostles as tongues of fire and rested upon them. The Holy Spirit is also cloud and light and this was seen at the Transfiguration on the mountain.

It was by the power of the Holy Spirit that My Mother conceived and brought Me into the world. He had prepared Her with His grace in order to fulfill the plan the Father had for Her. She was present with the Apostles when the Holy Spirit manifested Himself on the day of Pentecost. Pray, My friends, for the New Pentecost."

Medjugorje Day By Day May 10 - Celebrate the Eucharist

Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, writes of Eucharistic Adoration: "Only within the breathing space of adoration can the Eucharistic celebration indeed be alive; only if the church and thus the whole congregation is constantly imbued with the waiting presence of the Lord, and with our silent readiness to respond, can the invitation to come together bring us into the hospitality of Jesus Christ and of the Church."

St. Juan Diego, Visionary of Guadalupe, Mexico (1474-1548)—December 9
"A peasant named Juan Diego saw before him, on the rugged slopes of Tepeyac hill, the Virgin Mary bathed in supernatural radiance. `I ardently desire'' she said, `that a church be built here.' Right from the start, then, God's mother indicated the Eucharistic orientation of her mission. Very significantly, too, Juan Diego was at the time making his way to Mass" (Fr. Richard Foley, S.J.).

Mother Teresa

The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
Do not be so completely dedicated to Martha's activity that you forget the silence or self-abandonment of Mary. May the Virgin, who combines the duties so well, be your model and inspiration.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Look for the good in others and you'll feel better about your own soul
"By finding black spots in others, they believe they distract attention from their own miserable state. The good conscience, on the contrary, finds good in others even when there is some discontent with self."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
Once when I was being crushed by these dreadful sufferings, I went into the chapel and said from the bottom of my soul, "Do what You will with me, O Jesus; I will adore You in everything.

May Your will be done in me, O my Lord and my God, and I will praise Your infinite mercy." Through this act of submission, these terrible torments left me. Suddenly I saw Jesus, who said to me, I am always in your heart. An inconceivable joy entered my soul, and a great love of God set my heart aflame. I see that God never tries us beyond what we are able to suffer.

Oh, I fear nothing; if God sends such great suffering to a soul, He upholds it with an even greater grace, although we are not aware of it. One act of trust at such moments gives greater glory to God than whole hours passed in prayer filled with consolations. Now I see that if God wants to keep a soul in darkness, no book, no confessor can bring it light. (78)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

May 10 - CELEBRATE THE EUCHARIST

Our Lady speaks today of cherishing the Mass:

You do not celebrate the Eucharist as you should. If you knew what graces and what gifts you receive, you would prepare yourselves for it for at least and hour every day. (First Year 1985)

In the chapter six of John's gospel, Christ speaks of the Eucharist:

So Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Those who eat my flesh and drink up on the last day; for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink" (Jn 6:53-55).

Reflection:

The western church has often taken the Mass for granted; we have been spared the persecutions that once tormented Easter Europe and the former Soviet Union under Communism. The following story May help us change our perspective:

In 1956, news came through about one of Stalin's forced-labor camps in Siberia, by way of a Dr. Joseph Scholmer, who had been a prisoner there. He said that 4 bishops, 700 priests, and 900 monks and nuns had been deported from Lithuania, as well as many lay Catholics, They worked in mines 600 feet below the ground, and Mass was often said down there by some priest dressed in his usual overalls.

The altar-hosts came by mail from Lithuania, allowed through as "Lithuanian bread," and the wine was from the Crimea. The miners had made a tiny silver chalice only one and one-quarter inches high. At Easter over 400 of the Lithuanian miners received their Easter communion hidden in tins of cigarettes which were being distributed. Each host, wrapped in a small piece of linen, was hidden under a top layer of cigarettes, and broken up for four communicants.

Application:

Have you ever complained about attending Mass because of the weather, distance, or other reasons? Today, pray especially for a greater love for the sacrament.

Medjugorje Day By Day May 09 - Do not slander

Ascension of Our Lord—May 5

"Jesus is present with us . . . . Jesus rose again, He ascended into heaven: but He willed to remain with us and for us, in every place on earth. The Eucharist is really a divine invention!" (Pope John Paul II, June 14, 1979, quoted in our May 2005 Newsletter. To view the entire text of the Newsletter, please visit the Resources section of our website atwww.ACFP2000.com).

Avarice is an inordinate love of riches and the good things of things of life. Jesus Christ,to cure us of it, was born in extreme poverty, deprived of all comforts. He chose a Mother was poor. He willed to pass as the son of humble workman. - Notre-Dame d'Ars, Meditation 23.

Children of Hope is dedicated to leading children into the mystery of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, so as to realize how much he loves them!

The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
May Mary transform all your sufferings into joy.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen
It does no good to point a finger at others
"When our conscience bothers us, whether we admit it or not, we often try to justify it by correcting others, or by finding fault with them. The readiness to believe evil about others is in large part ammunition for a thousand scandals in our own hearts."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -

O inexhaustible treasure of purity of intention which makes all our actions perfect and so pleasing to God!

O Jesus, You know how weak I am; be then ever with me; guide my actions and my whole being, You who are my very best Teacher! Truly, Jesus, I become frightened when I look at my own misery, but at the same time I am reassured by Your unfathomable mercy, which exceeds my misery by the measure of all eternity. This disposition of soul clothes me in Your power. O joy that flows from the knowledge of one's self! O unchanging Truth, Your constancy is everlasting!... (66)

O my Jesus, despite the deep night that is all around me and the dark clouds which hide the horizon, I know that the sun never goes out. O Lord, though I cannot comprehend You and do not understand Your ways, I nonetheless trust in Your mercy. If it is Your will, Lord, that I live always in such darkness, may You be blessed.

I ask You only one thing, Jesus: do not allow me to offend You in any way. O my Jesus, You alone know the longings and the sufferings of my heart. I am glad I can suffer for You, however little. When I feel that the suffering is more than I can bear, I take refuge in the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, and I speak to Him with profound silence. (73)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

May 9 - DO NOT SLANDER

The Gospa asks us today to guard our tongues:

Understand that the church is God's palace, the place in which I gather you and wish to show you the way to God. Come and pray! Do not stare at others or slanders them, but rather, let your life be a testimony to the way of holiness (Monthly Message April 25, 1988).

St. James also warns us of slander:

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers and sisters. Whoever speaks evil against another or judges another, speaks evil against the law and judges the law; you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one lawgiver and one judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor? (Jas 4:11-12)

Reflection:

House wreckers in Alexzndria, Louisiana, found out too late that they were tearing down the wrong house. The men had removed half the roof, all of the front porch, and most of the upstairs of the two-story frame building when the owner happened to drive by.

He rushed in and halted the workmen. The foreman checked with headquarters and found that an embarrassing mistake had been made. He and his fellow workers should have been tearing down a house two blocks away!

In our speech, we have a tendency to be too hasty in destructive way before getting the full facts. There is an old English proverb that, "A fool's tongue is always long enough to cut his own throat." Thus Our Lady calls us in our speed to seek every opportunity to "build," rather than "tear down"--to highlight what is good in others, not what is bad.

Application:
Today, reflect on the words of Jesus: "The good person brings good out of the treasure of his heart; the evil person brings evil things out of the evil stored in his heart. For it is out of the store of the heart that the mouth speaks" (Lk 6:45)

SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."

Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.

Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails). Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
