PROPHECY MEDITATIONS TODAY

Medjugorje Day By Day Oct 19 - LOVE WITH ALL YOUR HEART

Our Lady of the Rosary—Oct. 7
"The prayer of the Rosary, or five decades of it, after the Sacred Liturgy of the Eucharist, is what most unites us to God by the richness of the prayers .

. . we see that it is indeed a Trinitarian and a Eucharistic prayer, even
more than a Marian one. I do not know if we can find prayers more sublime or more appropriate to recite before the Blessed Sacrament" (Sr. Lucia of Fatima).

Mother Teresa - To be able to do all these, pray lovingly like children, with an earnest desire to love much and make loved the Love that is not loved.

Meditations by Padre Pio - I wholeheartedly bless the work of catechizing children, who are the little flowers of Jesus. I also bless the zealous work of missionaries.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -

Whatever you do, you do it to Christ!

" On the Last Day, Our Blessed Lord said that He will judge us by our attitude to hospitality: `When did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and not care for You?' (Matthew 25: 44). Hospitality, therefore, not only has the duties of which we are aware, but also the more terrible awareness that it is Christ Who is the Stranger.

In all our dealings, we are dealing with the Lord Himself, though we know it not. Maybe if we could see our wars aright, in between two trenches of the enemies, or between a plane in the sky and the target beneath, there is Christ's Body being shot full of holes. What men do to one another, they do to Him, whether the act be of kindness or bitterness. "

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
I have desired death so much! I do not know whether I shall ever again in my life experience such great longing for God. There have been times when I fell into a swoon for Him. Oh, how ugly the earth when one knows heaven! I must do violence to myself in order to live. O will of God, you are my nourishment. (899)

Today, the Lord said to me, I demand of you a perfect and whole-burnt offering; an offering of the will. No other sacrifice can compare with this one. I Myself am directing your life and arranging things in such a way that you will be for Me a continual sacrifice and will always do My will. And for the accomplishment of this offering, you will unite yourself with Me on the Cross. I know what you can do.

I Myself will give you many orders directly, but I will delay the possibility of their being carried out and make it depend on others. But what the superiors will not manage to do, I Myself will accomplish directly in your soul.

And in the most hidden depths of your soul, a perfect holocaust will be carried out, not just for a while, but know, My daughter, that this offering will last until your death. But there is time, so that I the Lord will fulfill all your wishes. I delight in you as in a living host; let nothing terrify you; I am with you. (923)

Quote of the Day - Chastity, or cleanness of heart, holds a glorious and distinguished place among the virtues, because she alone enables man to see God; hence Truth Itself said: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." -St. Augustine

Today's Tidbit - The city of Naples has a vial of St. Januarius' blood. Each year, on his feast this vial of blood liquefies. In years when this miracle did not occur, severe disasters fell upon the city.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

Oct 19 - LOVE WITH ALL YOUR HEART

The Queen of Peace speaks of love today:

If you love with all your heart, you will receive so much. If you hate, you will lose every thing. Dear Children, love makes great things. The more love you have within you, the more you can love the people around you. That is why I ask you to pray unceasingly to Jesus that he fill your hearts with love (LJM 4-12-87).
Christ also speaks of the great commandment:

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. (John 15:12-13).

Reflection:

Few of us can duplicate such dramatic feats of love, but in our own lives we have countless opportunities to love others by showing a Christ like concern and alertness for those in distress.

Application:
As Our Lady says today, "Pray to Jesus that he may fill your hearts with love," and be on the lookout for those in trouble.

Medjugorje Day By Day Oct 18 - ST. LUKE

Ann. Our Lady's Apparition at Fatima & the Miracle of the Sun (1917)-Oct. 13
"Let us listen to Mary Most Holy, in whom the mystery of the Eucharist appears, more than in anyone else, as a mystery of light. Gazing upon Mary, we come to know the transforming power present in the Eucharist" (Pope John Paul II, Ecclesia de Eucharistia, 62).

"The Year of the Eucharist has its source in the amazement with which the Church contemplates this great Mystery . . . . I consider it a great grace to be able to call the whole Church to contemplate, praise, and adore in a special way this ineffable Sacrament" (Pope John Paul II, Mane Nobiscum Domine, 29).

Mother Teresa - Serve Jesus with joy and gladness of spirit, casting aside and forgetting all that troubles and worries you.

Meditations by Padre Pio - Nor should you become confused, trying to understand whether you consented or not. So everything with an upright intention; this uprightness which must always be present in your actions, and whenever you valiantly and generously fight the evil tricks of the evil spirit.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -

God wants us to get personal
" The age of discovery is not yet over and the greatest discovery yet remains to be made by every individual, namely, there are other people in the world besides oneself. As a former Prince of Wales once said: `Number Ten Downing Street can never be a substitute for the good neighbor;' neither can the Community Chest nor Social Welfare Agency.

Immediate personal contact, courageous embracing of the worries and burdens involved in full personal and intimate relationships - these are the bloodstream of a healthy society. "

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -

I will enclose myse

lf in the chalice of Jesus so that I may comfort Him continually. I will do everything within my power to save souls, and I will do it through prayer and suffering.

I try always to be a Bethany for Jesus, so that He may rest here after all His labors. In Holy Communion, my union with Jesus is so intimate and incomprehensible that even if I wanted to describe it in writing I could not do so, because I lack the words. (735)

During Mass today, I saw the Lord Jesus, who said to me, Be at peace, My daughter; I see your efforts, which are very pleasing to Me. And the Lord disappeared, and it was time for Holy Communion. After I received Holy Communion, I suddenly saw the Cenacle and in it Jesus and the Apostles. I saw the institution of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus allowed me to penetrate His interior, and I came to know the greatness of His majesty and, at the same time, His great humbling of Himself. The extraordinary light that allowed me to see His majesty revealed to me, at the same time, what was in my own soul. (757)

Dailys - http://www.catholic-forum.com/e-pistle.html -

Quote of the Day - There is more value in a little study of humility and in a single act of it than in all the knowledge in the world. -St. Theresa of Avila

Today's Tidbit - St. Richardis was the victim of the sin of calumny. This is the harming of the name and good reputation of a person through lies. This sin is a violation of the Christian obligations of justice and truth

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

Oct 18 - ST. LUKE

Since Luke was a physician, it is appropriate that the Madonna speaks of the sick today:

Pray for all the sick. Believe firmly. I will come to help, according to that which is in my power. I will ask my Son, Jesus, to help them. The most important thing, in the meantime, is a strong faith. Many who are sick think that it is sufficient to come here in order to be quickly healed. Some of them do not even believe in God, and even less in the apparitions, and then they ask for help from the Gospa! (FY 2-9-82).

In answer to questions about the sick in 1981, the Gospa responded:

Without faith, nothing is possible. All those who will believe firmly will be cured. (FY 7-24-81).

And last, from the Acts of the Apostles:

Yet more than ever believers were added to the Lord, great numbers of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on cots and mats, in order that Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he came by. A great number of people would also gather from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all cured. (Acts 5:14-16)

Reflection:

On this feast of St. Luke, the physician, we cannot help but be aware of the central role that faith plays in healing, for it is mentioned throughout scripture and Our Lady's messages as the one thing necessary.

As we see in her message, Mary asks us to "pray for the sick. Believe firmly...the most important thing is a strong faith." Again, on July 24, 1981: "Without faith, nothing is possible. All those who will believe firmly will be cured." When asked about a sick person on July 29, 1981, the Gospa responded, "Praise be Jesus! She will be cured. She must believe firmly."

Sacred scripture bears out the great healing power of faith. From today's passage from St. James: "This prayer uttered in faith will reclaim the one who is ill, and the Lord will restore him to health" (Jas 5:15).

Taken together, both Our Lady's messages and scripture emphasize that a firm, expectant faith is needed for healing at the hands of God. And this faith, in turn, is deepened and strengthened through prayer, the foundational message of Medjugorje.

On this his feast day, let us pray to St. Luke the physician to help us grow in faith and in prayer, that we may experience healing where it is most needed in our lives today, whether it be physical, mental or spiritual.

Application:

In prayer, call to mind someone who is ill and offer the Prayer for the Sick for them (January 14), which was given by Our Lady in Medjugorje for just such a purpose

SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."

Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.

Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails. Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
