"Walk in holiness every day"
Sunday, September 07, 2008
Dear Friends,
"During the day, Jesus was teaching in the temple area, but at night he would leave and stay at the place called the Mount of Olives. And all the people would get up early each morning to listen to him in the temple area." Luke 21: 37 - 38.
It was windy yesterday in the early part of the day but the wind died down and we had a beautiful day. There were clouds but the sun did shine most of the time. Today it is cloudy and it rained during the night. It is not raining now.
I bring you again today a message from Jesus addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words, "It was My joy to go to the temple when I was in Jerusalem to pray and to teach the people there. Many people got up early in the morning to come and listen to what I had to teach them.
I would often speak about My Father and what He expected from them. I always called them to be alert and to work hard so that they would not fall into the temptation of the evil one. I always called Myself the Son of Man.
Many of My words I addressed to the Jewish people are written in the Bible especially in the Gospels. These words are living words and if you read them today, they will definitely touch you and help you to turn to Me, your Lord and Savior. You need the Word of Life to nourish you so that your faith in Me may grow strong.
I exhort you again today that if you love Me, you will come to church to worship the Father and to receive Me in Holy Communion. The Father, who created you, is worthy of deep worship and adoration from every person in the world. With great love, come and thank Him for all that He has done for you.
He cares for you at every moment and He loves you intensely. Do not offend Him again and ask Him to pardon you for all your sins of the past. The Father sent Me among you to make Him known and to offer Myself in sacrifice on the cross for your salvation.
You are My friends if you take My words to heart and come to Me in prayer. I will listen to every prayer and grant you all the graces you need. Walk in holiness every day."

"Repent and come and follow Me"
Friday, September 05, 2008
Dear Friends,
The Betrayal and arrest of Jesus. While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd approached and in front was one of the twelve, a man named Judas. He went up to Jesus to kiss him. Jesus said to him, Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss? After arresting him they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Luke 22: 47 48, 54
Monday, September 8, will be a special day for Our Blessed Mother as it is the Feast of Her birth and also the Feast of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. We will have Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m. at the little shrine followed by a procession if the weather cooperates. All are welcome to come and celebrate the double feast of Our Heavenly Mother.
Our Lord gave another message to Joseph, which I quote below. Jesus spoke to him in these words, It is a fact that often one can be betrayed by those whom you think are your friends. Judas was one of the twelve Apostles, selected by Me, and he followed Me everywhere I went for three years.
He saw many miracles and he heard most of My messages, which I gave to the Apostles. He came to know Me personally and I loved him, yet he betrayed Me and had Me arrested. I said of him that it would have been better if he had never been born.
Many of you, My friends, will have similar experiences with your supposed friends. They will come to see you, spy on you and give all kinds of lies about you. In their satanic ways, they will laugh at their cleverness. Do not be afraid of them. I will deal with them in the proper way. They have much to repent about if they wish to spend their eternity with Me.
I used this terrible slap in the face by Judas and My passion and death on the cross to atone for your sins and to win for you all the graces you need to be saved and enter heaven one day. My sacrifice on the cross shows you My great love for you and at the same time it reminds you of the seriousness of sin. I embraced My cross and I embrace it again today to bring you closer to Me. Repent and come follow Me.

"The house of God is to be a house of prayer"
Saturday, September 06, 2008
Dear Friends,
"Then Jesus entered the temple area and proceeded to drive out those who were selling things, saying to them, 'It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.' And every day he was teaching in the temple area. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words." Luke 19: 45 - 48
I now present another message from Jesus addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words, "One day at the temple in Jerusalem, I was angry to see all those people selling in the temple area. I decided to chase them all away. I took a rope in My hand and told them to leave the place immediately. They were making the house of God a den of thieves. The house of God is to be a house of prayer.
What is happening today in your churches? Are they really houses of prayer? Many people have little respect for Me living in the tabernacles of these churches. They talk and laugh in Church as if it was just a hall. Many no longer genuflect, as was the custom, and just sit in their seats as if at a baseball game.
This shows their lack of faith in me in the Eucharist. Changes, which have taken place during the liturgy, are destroying the faith of believers. I desire that all kneel during the most solemn parts of the Mass and these are the consecration and the time just before Holy Communion and after Communion.
It is My great desire too that all receive Me in Holy Communion on the tongue and not in the hand. I desire that the priests speak more about My true presence in the Eucharist.
In this way My people will have more respect for Me and their faith will grow. Whatever destroys the faith of the people is to be abolished immediately and greater respect is to be fostered at all times. Then the people will come to Church in great numbers."

Medjugorje Day By Day Sept 08 - LOVE - Birth of the Blessed Virgin
Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary—Sept. 8
"Come, one and all, let us joyfully celebrate the birth of the joy of all the world! Today, departing from the nature of earth, heaven has been formed upon earth. This day is the beginning of the world's salvation" (St. John Damascene). "Who can accompany us better on this demanding journey of holiness than Mary?
Who can teach us to adore Christ better than she? May she help especially the new generations to recognize the true face of God in Christ and to worship, love and serve him with total dedication" (Pope Benedict XVI, August 7, 2005).
Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary—Sept. 8
"Mary is the full-of-grace woman, chosen and prepared by God to bear and
bring up his Son, the world's Saviour . . . . The Mother of the Eucharist
ardently desires to share its graces with us from her privileged position next to her Son's tabernacle-throne" (Mary and the Eucharist).
Sept 8 Quote of the Day - If our life were not under Mary's protection, we might tremble for our perseverance and salvation. -St. Peter Julian Eymard
Today's Tidbit - The encyclical Pascendi condemned the modernist movement within the various branches of Christendom. The document also established councils to combat these errors
Mother Teresa -
Surely if God feeds the young ravens which cry to Him, if He nourishes the birds which neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, if He vests the flowers of the field so beautifully, how much more will He care for men whom He has made in His own image and likeness and adopted as His children, if we only act as such.
Meditations by Padre Pio - This heart of mine is Yours… my Jesus, so take this heart of mine, fill it with Your love and then order me to do whatever You wish.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
The Double Side of Sympathy
"What has happened to that double side of sympathy which is the basis of the Christian philosophy of life; `Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep?' It has been said that the wounded deer sheds tears, but it belongs to man to weep with those who weep and by sympathy to divide another's sorrows and double another's joy."
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
January 29, 1936. In the evening, when I was in my cell, I suddenly saw a great light and a dark gray cross high up within the light. Suddenly, I found myself caught up close to the cross. I gazed at it intently, but could not understand anything, and so I prayed, asking what it could mean.
At that moment I saw the Lord Jesus, and the cross disappeared. The Lord Jesus was sitting in a great light, and His legs, up to the knees, were drowned in the light so that I could not see them. Jesus bent toward me, looked at me kindly and spoke to me about the will of the Heavenly Father.
He told me that the most perfect and holy soul is the one that does the will of the Father, but there are not many such, and that He looks with special love upon the soul who lives His will. And Jesus told me that I was doing the will of God perfectly... and for this reason I am uniting Myself with you and communing with you in a special and intimate way. (603)
MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
SEPT 8 - LOVE
Given to Ivan's prayer group in June, 1986:
Love, If you do not love, you will not be able to give your testimony. You will not be able to witness for either me or for Jesus ( June 6, 1986).
And for Paul, love creates our unity in Christ:
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ's gift (Eph4:4-7).
Reflection:
"We are all parts of one body," Paul says, and we have been given many gifts and abilities. Unity does not just happen; we have to work at it. Often differences among people can lead to division, but this should not be true in the church. Instead of concentrating on what divides us, we are called to remember what unites us: one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God.
Have we grown in appreciating those who are differing gifts and viewpoints can help the church as it strives to serve God and his people? With a little effort, we may learn to enjoy the way members of Christ's body complement one another.
Application:
This week, consciously try to be a bridge builder between people at your workplace, in your parish, and in your local community. This is ministry you can practice your whole life long.
Medjugorje Day By Day Sept 07 - THE LORDS PRAYER
"Run to the feet of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament" (St. Padre Pio).
Sept 7 Quote of the Day - Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day be led astray. This is a statement that I would gladly sign with my blood. -St. Louis de Montfort
Today's Tidbit - Evangelization is the proclamation of the Gospel, the Good News of salvation in and through Christ, among those who have not yet known or received it; and efforts for the progressive development of the life of faith among those who have already received the gospel and all that it entails. Evangelization is the primary mission of the Church, in which all members of the Church are called to participate.
Mother Teresa -
In loving and serving, we prove that we have been created in the likeness of God, for God is love and when we love we are like God. That is what Jesus meant when He said, " Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect."
Sept 8 The more room we give God to fill us.
Meditations by Padre Pio - A single act of love of God, made during a period of aridity is worth more than a hundred made with affection and consolation.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Our hearts are restless until they rest in God.
"Modern man has been humiliated: neither his proud expectations of progress nor of science have turned out as he hoped. Yet he has not quite reached the point of humbling himself.
He is still imprisoned in the self, and able to see nothing else beyond. The psychoanalysts may be allowed to bore into his thoughts for a few years more; but the time is not far off when modern man will utter a frantic appeal to God to lift them from the empty cistern of their own egos. St. Augustine knew it well: he said, `Our hearts are restless until they rest in You.'"
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
Now I understand well that what unites our soul most closely to God is self-denial; that is, joining our will to the will of God. This is what makes the soul truly free, contributes to profound recollection of the spirit, and makes all life's burdens light, and death sweet. (462)
After Holy Communion, my soul was again flooded with God's love. I rejoiced in His greatness. Here I see distinctly His will, which I am to carry out, and at the same time my own weakness and misery; I see how I can do nothing without His help. (493)
O Eternal Truth, Word Incarnate, who most faithfully fulfilled Your Father's will, today I am becoming a martyr of Your inspirations, since I cannot carry them out because I have no will of my own, though interiorly I see Your will clearly. I submit in everything to the will of my superiors and my confessor. I will follow Your will insofar as You will permit me to do so through Your representative. O my Jesus, it cannot be helped, but I give priority to the voice of the Church over the voice with which You speak to me. (497)
MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
SEPT 7 - THE LORD'S PRAYER Having given his disciples the Lord's Prayer, Jesus then encourages them to pray perseveringly to the Father: So I say to you, ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks, receives and everyone who searches, finds; and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened (Lk 11:9-10).
Refection
: Today we conclude Our Lady's commentary on the Lord's Prayer, as dictated to Jelena:
And forgive us our trespasses: "Forgive us, Lord, our sins. Forgive us for not being faithful, for not being better than we are."
And we forgive those who trespass against us: "Forgive us our sins, Lord, and help us to forgive those whom we have been unable to forgive. O Jesus, we beseech you to forgive all our sins."
Dear children, I, your Mother, call you to genuine forgiveness. Although you pray that your sins be forgiven to the extent that you forgive those of others, if this truly came to pass, you would be forgiven little. Therefore, forgive one another from the heart. This is what your heavenly Father expects when you pray the words: "as we forgive those who trespass against us."
And lead us not into temptation: "Lord, deliver us from severe trials, for we are weak. Guard us so that temptations may not lead us to ruin."
But deliver us from evil: "Lord, deliver us from every evil. Help us so that only good comes out of our trials and temptations, that we may move forward in our spiritual journey."
Amen: "So be it, Lord; thy will be done."
Application:
Today, pray the Our Father again as a meditation, using Our Lady's thoughts as given over the last three days. You may wish to use this reflection several more times this month, for it gives a freshness and added meaning to this greatest of prayers.
Medjugorje Day By Day Sept 06 THE LORDS PRAYER
St. Louis IX, Husband, Father, King of France, (1214-1270), Feast, Aug. 25
"Even if I saw Jesus on the altar in His visible form, and touched Him with my hand, and heard His voice, I should not be more convinced than I now am, that He is present in the consecrated Host. The word of Christ is sufficient for me. I need no miracle" (St. Louis).
Sept 6 Quote of the Day - If you are to recite the Our Father well, one thing is necessary: you must not leave the side of the Master who has taught it to you. -St. Theresa of Avila
Today's Tidbit - Asceticism is the practice of self-discipline. In the spiritual life asceticism - by personal prayer, meditation, self-denial, works of mortification and outgoing interpersonal works - is motivated by a love of God and contributes to growth in holiness.
Mother Teresa -
I pray for you that the Holy Spirit may fill you with His purity. I ask the Holy Spirit to free you of all impurity body, soul, mind, will, and heart that each one of you become the living tabernacle of God Most High, and so become a carrier of God's love and compassion.
Meditations by Padre Pio - The more bitterness you have, the more love you will receive.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Eureka! The well-spring of God is easy to find!
"The difference between those who have found God in faith and those who are still seeking Him is like the difference between a wife, happy in the enjoyment of her husband's companionship, and a young girl wondering if she will ever find a husband, and perhaps trying to attract men by the wrong approach.
Those who search for pleasure, fame and wealth are all seeking the Infinite, but the seekers are still on the outskirts of the Eternal City. Those with faith have penetrated to their real home within the Infinite and have found the "peace which the world cannot give." As one can see a figure far off and not yet recognize him as a long-lost friend, so one can sense the need of the Infinite and desire the endless ecstasy of love, but not yet know that it is God."
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
Jesus, King of Mercy, again the time has come when I am alone with You. Therefore I beg You, by all the love with which Your Heart burns, to destroy completely within me my self-love and, on the other hand, to enkindle in my heart the fire of Your purest love. (371)
In the evening, after the conference, I heard these words: I am with you. During this retreat, I will strengthen you in peace and in courage so that your strength will not fail in carrying out My designs. Therefore you will cancel out your will absolutely in this retreat and, instead, My complete will shall be accomplished in you. Know that it will cost you much, so write these words on a clean sheet of paper: "From today on, my own will does not exist," and then cross out the page.
And on the other side write these words: "From today on, I do the will of God everywhere, always, and in everything." Be afraid of nothing; love will give you strength and make the realization of this easy. (372)
The moment I knelt down to cross out my own will, as the Lord had bid me to do, I heard this voice in my soul: From today on, do not fear God's judgment, for you will not be judged. (374)
MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
SEPT 6 THE LORD'S PRAYER
Yesterday we read Luke's passage on the Lord's Prayer; today, let us review Matthew's account:
Pray then in this way;
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
But rescue us from the Evil One.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, Your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Mt 6:9-15).
Reflection:
We continue today with Our Lady's commentary on the Lord's Prayer as given to Jelena:
They kingdom come: These are words of gratitude to Christ; we are telling him: "Truly, Lord, we know nothing. Without your kingdom, without your presence among us, we are weak and empty.
Help us to realize that our earthly kingdom soon passes away, but that the kingdom of heaven remains eternally. O Lord, re-establish your kingdom among us!"
They will be done: "O Lord, help us to realize the futility of our kingdoms of materialism and vanity; may they fade to nothing in the presence of your kingdom of light and truth. At this moment, and forever, may thy will be done."
On earth as it is in heaven: "In heaven, Lord the glorious angels revere and adore you; may our spirits be joined to theirs, that we may also revere and obey you. And through your power, may the holiness of heaven touch the earth, making it holy and bright with your love and peace."
Give us this day our daily bread: "Give us, Lord, your peace, your love, your mercy, as our spiritual bread. Nourish us today and always with this bread, your divine spirit within us. O Lord, we pray for this food, for it is life; help us to understand how to open our hearts to receive this precious gift, the fruit of grace and prayer."
Application:
Today, pray the Our Father slowly and reverently, reflecting on each phrase.
