Dorotheus the Hermit of Kemet, (ABBA DOROTHEUS). I am Dorotheus. God’s grace allowed me to be ordained a Presbyter (Elder), (like a bishop). I chose a cave for my dwelling. My ministry was to other monks and priests also in the penance of living in caves. The granddaughter of the Spaniard, Saint Melania the Great, Melania the younger provided me at one time with five hundred solidi. It was a grace to share with the other brothers, following God’s way in the caves.
I kept three solidi. The rest I presented to the wise Diocles,another anchorite, to distribute equitably to those needy. Sept. 16 or 18 Sept.

Dear Friends,
Then the disciples of John approached Jesus and said, Why do we and the Pharisees fast but your disciples do not fast? Jesus answered them, Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
No one patches an old cloak with a piece of unshrunken cloth, for its fullness pulls away from the cloak and the tear gets worst. People do not put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved. Matthew 9:14 17
We had a cloudy day yesterday although the weather was mild with no wind. We did not get any snow either. We will have the same weather today and perhaps a little bit of sun this afternoon.
Here is another message from Our Lord and Savior given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, Fasting is an obligation of all Christians and all are called in a special way to fast during Lent.
Fasting helps you to be more spiritual and less materialistic minded. It also makes you less prone to sin. If you can say no to food, then with the grace I give you, you will be able to say no to the temptations of the evil one.
It was not possible for My disciples to fast when I was with them. However, after My death and resurrection they began to fast and My Church teaches all her members to fast every year.
You will remember that I fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the desert after I was baptized by John in the Jordan. After these days of fasting, I was tempted three times by the devil and I rejected all his temptations.
The Christian religion, which I brought you, is different from all other religions in the world. It cannot be attached to Judaism or the Mosaic Law. You cannot patch an old coat (Judaism) with a new cloth (Christianity) and you cannot put new wine (the Christian religion) into old wineskins (Mosaic Law).
You will destroy the old coat or the old wineskins. I came to bring you a new teaching and its Gospel cannot be contained within Judaism. I brought you something that is completely new and how I wish that all the people of the world would belong to it. Believe in Me and you will be blessed.

Last night, I was already in bed, my eyes closed, my mind free
of any thought, then in my mind's eye I saw a man in the middle of
the street falling down to his knees.
He saw an awesome sight.
Looking up, I saw a huge, extremely bright cross with its white
light blazing in the night time sky. I then saw many people in
groups also staring at the extraordinary sight above, wondering what
the amazing sight was.

While in Church this morning praying in front of the BLESSED SACRAMENT I received the following vision.
I saw a building implode like those buildings who fall after explosives have been put in them.
JESUS then spoke and told me that the economy of America will soon fall just as fast as the building fell.
That the collapse of America's economy would be as total as the collapse of the building.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS ARE POINTS IN YESHUA’S (JESUS) SUFFERING DURING HOLY WEEK. (Stations are points in Yeshua’s life durig the suffering of Holy Week).

Thank you for sharing the meditations given by Jesus to you on His Way of
the Cross, the first eight stations. They are beautiful and deeply
inspiring. I unhesitatingly approve them for sending out to others.

Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer
Thank you My little one for opening your heart to My Words. I have given you meditations on My Holy Mother’s Rosary. I have also given you words on the Seven Sorrows of My Holy Mother.
Today I desire to give you words on My Most Sorrowful Moments My Stations of the Cross. I invite you to begin these Meditations with the prayers of the Holy Spirit given by My Beloved Son's with the Consecrated Hands..... calling on the Most Holy Spirit to not only guide you but fill each of you with a desire to open your hearts requesting the Guidance of the Holy Spirit through these Meditations.
In asking the Holy Spirit for the grace of a desire to Prayer and to unite your hearts with My most Wounded Sacred Heart as you contemplate on each station. I love you My children and I desire to bestow upon each of you very special Graces to draw you each closer to Me your Jesus of Mercy.
"Come, Most Holy Spirit Come, Spirit of Grace. Come Our Healer. Come Risen Lord. Come our beloved teacher.
Lord, my heart is in need of You. The depths of my heart cry out to You. I wish to open myself entirely to You. I desire that you penetrate me completely, that I belong to You. That you enter into my heart, that only you dwell there. I desire to love you eternally. Fill me with your Holy Love. Strengthen me and be with me always.

Take, O lord and receive my entire liberty, my memory, my understanding and my whole will. My precious sisters and brothers in our Jesus Mercy, I am resending these Meditations given by Jesus as they are being given to me with approval for release. Along with these meditations I am sending Fr. Melvins’ Discernment over each meditation.
Throughout the years of Messages no message has ever been released without permission of our Spiritual Director and /or Spiritual Advisor’s all who are Latin Rite Priests.

My Dear Patsy, I thank you for sending me the Beautiful Meditations Jesus has given you on His Stations of the Cross.
These meditation's continue to reveal the Heart of Jesus, His suffering and His love. Please be assured of my prayers and I approve these meditations to be released as they continue to show our Jesus Love and Mercy.

Thank you My little one for opening your heart to My Words. I have given you meditations on My Holy Mother’s Rosary. I have also given you words on the Seven Sorrows of My Holy Mother.
Today I desire to give you words on My Most Sorrowful Moments My Stations of the Cross. I invite you to begin these Meditations with the prayers of the Holy Spirit given by My Beloved Son's with the Consecrated Hands..... calling on the Most Holy Spirit to not only guide you but to fill each of you with a desire to open your hearts to this Guidance of the Holy Spirit through each of these Meditations.
I invite you to ask the Holy Spirit for the grace of a desire to Prayer and to unite your hearts with My most Wounded Sacred Heart as you contemplate on each meditation of these holy stations. I love you My children and I desire to bestow upon each of you very special Graces to draw you each closer to Me your Jesus of Mercy.
"Come, Most Holy Spirit Come, Spirit of Grace. Come, Our Healer. Come, Risen Lord. Come our beloved teacher.
Lord, my heart is in need of You. The depths of my heart cry out to You. I wish to open myself entirely to You. I desire that you penetrate me completely, that I belong to You. That you enter into my heart, that only you dwell there. I desire to love you eternally. Fill me with your Holy Love. Strengthen me and be with me always.
May your Holy Name be Praised.
I pray to you Lord, for every person, for every heart that is beating for You. Answer their prayers. Do not allow any of them to be lost. Life passes so quickly. Allow us to become aware of what is important, to not lose ourselves, but to gain You. You are the only center of our lives. Only with you can I know what and who I am.

Come, O Most Holy Spirit, come to us today. We need your love, because we desire to go on the new way to return to the Father, to take the step to the Father. O Come, Holy Spirit, You who makes all things new.
Today grant a miracle in us and through us. Change our hearts. Take from us our hearts of stone and give us a new heart, a heart that knows how to love, how to pray, how to forgive. A heart that knows how to embrace the cross and recognize the will of God and carry it to the end.
Come, O Most Holy Spirit, You who are our peace, come fill us with peace. You who are love, fill us with love and blessing and salvation. We are not here accidentally. We have been called, that we may be able to recognize our call and our mission. We ask You to come O Most Holy Spirit, that our masks may melt away, that our true face may be revealed before You.

The First Station:
Jesus Is Condemned To Death
Praise be to Jesus, for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations.
My Beloved children, are you willing to stand with Me before Pontius Pilate. Look into your hearts, it is not easy to surrender to the Holy Will of My Father, but with your surrender you will be filled with a Grace that will lead you and yours to Eternal Life. Pontius Pilate had no choice but to condemn Me, because he knew if he did not accept the will of the20people, his decision could cause the people to rise against him. Oh my beloved children, you see the Pontius Pilate's of this world that are leading my children astray to the epitome of desolation, the pits of eternal damnation, these choices as they continue to kill My Innocents.
You my children must use the weapons I and My Holy Mother have given you, the weapons of fasting, prayer, sacrifice and the Holy Sacraments. Prayer can change even hearts of stone. As I stood before Pontius Pilate, I could see the fear in his eyes, as he knew he was condemning an innocent man, for he knew there was something different about this man who stood before him.
As he asked the people to choose for either Barabas or this man called Jesus, the evil filled the streets with cries of hate calling out that I Jesus King of the Jews should be crucified. You my children are now in a world that is filled with evil and you are being asked to make a choice. How many times has the choice been made to continue in sin and be a part of the evil and worldly choices rather than being one with your Jesus of Mercy? What will your choice be?
(Jesus in His love accepted all suffering of His Passion and gave up His life on the cross for our salvation. The Most important teaching of the Stations of the Cross is that Jesus used this suffering to redeem us and to open heaven for us. - Fr. Melvin)
The Second Station:
Jesus Carries His Cross
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations. Oh20my beloved children. It is now time for them to take me away to be crucified. I have been beaten, scourged.
The weapons of evil shredded my body, tore the flesh from my bones and bleeding they grab a dirty purple cloth which was laying on the ground, putting it around my body laughing they were putting the robe of royalty around a king. Another soldier grabbed some branches from a weeded thorn bush, twisting it and placing it on my head, screeching with laughter he was crowning a king.
He pushed harder and harder to penetrate my head until the blood started streaming down my face, then they pushed me to the ground telling me to pick up my staff, the cross I was to be crucified to. Dragging the cross, the laughter grew louder from the people in the crowds as they yelled out obsenities to the “King of the Jews”. In this world, where you see the blatant evil weapons of drugs, killing, abortion, euthanasia, sex, how easy it is for your children to come under these weapons of evil destruction which deadens the souls to Graces.
Those Graces that were given as I suffered for each of you, as I allowed the beatings, scourging and the carrying of the cross for each of you, each of your children. Do not waste this time you have been given, nor the graces you have been given, change your ways, return to prayer, to sacrifice, to fasting, to the Holy Sacraments. Not just for yourself but for your =2 0children, for all my children.
(Through all Jesus suffered He shows us how horrible sin is that it should have caused Him so much suffering. Every time we sin we crown Him with thorns once more or drive a nail through His hands and feet. - Fr. Melvin)
The Third Station:
Jesus Falls the First Time
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations.
My beloved children open your hearts to My Words. I will give you the Grace to walk with Me your Jesus of Mercy the road of the Via Dolorosa. Just as My Father gave me the Grace to pick myself up from the heavy weight of the cross, from the pain and exhaustion of the Beating, the Scourging, the Crown of Thorns. We are so willing to give you many Graces, it is up to you for you have a free will, your free will to accept them or to not accept them.
(Jesus is exhausted and falls to the ground. Through His great suffering he won for us many graces. - Fr. Melvin
The Fourth Station:
Jesus Meets His Afflicted Mother
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations.
Beloved children of My Most Wounded Sacred Heart, could you stand by and watch if it was your child walking before you, bleeding, carrying a heavy cross, knowing your child was walking to his Crucifixion. And yet My Mother did not cry out, nor did she rush towards me to try to stop this because she knew this is what the Almighty Father was allowing for the salvation of all people.
She was giving her total surrender to save you my children. Looking into her eyes I knew it was the Grace of Surrender given by the Father and yet I also knew the ultimate pain of sorrow she was suffering and could do nothing to stop this suffering for it was also My Surrender to My Father out of love for each one of you.

The Fifth Station:
Simon Helps Jesus Carry His Cross
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations.
Oh My beloved children. When Simon was told to help me, he accepted because he had no choice. But as he continued to help me, his heart of anger and mistrust began to change. Here is this stranger being ordered to help carry a heavy wooden cross, for a stranger he didn’t even know or desired to know.
Simon became fearful that his own life might be taken if he refused, he also feared that the evil crowds might harm him, there was no trust in his heart. Both he and I look ahead to a road that looks long and difficult, yet he continues to help me carry a cross that neither of us chose but was chosen for us.
It became the surrendering of our wills that made this difficult road called the Via Dolorsa a Grace for all of Humanity. Think about this My children how your surrender can become the Grace needed to save not only your souls but the souls of many.
(Yes, Simon of Syrene was forced to carry the cross of Jesus, because Jesus was too weak to carry it alone. - Fr. Melvin)

The Sixth Station:
Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations
Beloved children of My Most Wounded Sacred Heart There was but one in the crowd that ran out to wipe my face even though she knew she could die at the hands of the soldiers for doing this. Veronica wanted to show Me that I was not alone in the midst of the horrid evil atrocity being done against this man they called Jesus King of the Jews. Her heart breaking at the scene before her.
There was no stopping the evil that was being done but she could show love and compassion even though this may have meant retribution to her. It was this love and compassion which left the imprint of My Face on her veil. Realize My children how through your acts of Love, Prayer, Compassion, Sacrifice, Forgiveness, Fasting,
The Holy Sacraments Graces of My Love can leave the imprint of My Face, My Eternal Glory, within your Soul, the souls of your children, your world.

The Seventh Station: 11:07 2/14/09
Jesus Falls A Second Time
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations
We continue on this road called the Via Dolorsa. Simon is still helping Me, yet I feel as if My Strength is leaving me and the heat is draining me to the point of exhaustion and I can no longer carry the cross which is now upon my rattled body as I have fallen now a second time.
I can’t go on, my body tortured and pained beyond human strength. But Simon pulls the cross off atop me and helps lift me up along with the cross. His strength being given to him by the Father, as it is not to be over yet.
Please My children, draw on the strength of the Father when you feel you can no longer go on in this world of corruption, deceit, evil consumption. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit will be your strength, your fortitude, your perseverance. We will never leave you. We have never left you. We love you, you only need to call out to us.

Jesus Speaks to the Holy Women
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Savior, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations. Listen my children as I spoke to the Holy Women who stood crying out for what they were witnessing, the injustice, cruelty, evil. As I spoke to them, I speak this to you My children.
You are in a world of evil, sadistic, materialistic socialism, which has brought the killing of innocents not only in abortion but the killing of souls in what has been loosed upon this world.
They could not change what was happening on the day of My crucifixion and as I spoke the words, do not cry for me but cry for yourselves and your children, I speak these words to you, YOU CAN CHANGE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THIS WORLD TODAY! Lift your voices in Prayer, Lift your hearts to the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit in sacrifice, fasting, the Holy Sacraments. Cry out to Me your Jesus of Mercy for yourselves and your children. I Will never Leave you, I love you

The Ninth Station:
Jesus Falls the Third Time
Praise Be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations
Beloved Little One, I invite you to open your heart for My Words, My Meditations which I will continue giving to you this night.
Open with Prayer My Beloved one with the prayers I have invited My children to pray as they begin My Holy Way of My Cross. Oh My children, look at Me your Jesus of Mercy, continuing on the Via Dolorosa with Simon carrying most of the weight of the cross. For My strength is again beginning to go.
The weight of the cross is now to much for me to bare and the pain has caused me total exhaustion to the point of collapsing. But I continue the walk, straining to breathe as the sun and wind blows into my face and my body quickly dehydrating.
Unable to go on, I fall for the third time, again the heavy cross falling and ripping the flesh even more. Such excruciating pain, the rocks, dirt and blood now clinging to the open wounds.
Simon hurriedly tries to hold on even more to the cross so that it does not fall atop of me again. I see that My Mother is standing in the distance with My beloved John and others who are continuing to follow. Her face shows the anguish of seen her son falling again in pain and I know that her desire is to run to Me and save Me.
But again she knows she must remain silent lifting her prayers to the Father as Simon once again is given the strength to lift me and the cross, so that we can continue on this road of the Via Dolorsa.
We can see ahead, the soldiers that already have reached the top of the hill where I am to be crucified. They are drinking, laughing, yelling for me to hurry, so they can get out of the burning penetrating heat. Some of the soldiers are now gathering the crowds away, to give them room to proceed with the other two men who are now being tied to their cross. Simon and I are now struggling to get up the hill and I can see the soldiers pulling some men out of the crowd to help them lift the crosses, placing them in an upright position in order to give the room needed for my cross.
How many times My children, have you allowed situations that you know are wrong, but go along with others, because you either don’t care to change from a lifestyle of sin, even when you know it will cause another disastrous consequences. Or you feel that you need not make this your business because it has no affect on you.
How sadly mistaken My children are, for you see each person is part of My Mystical Body and what affects one in My Mystical Body affects all. Sin has a great affect on all My children but Grace also has a GREATER affect on all My children.
Just as when Simon began this walk with Me, little did he know his heart would change to have love, compassion, empathy for this man called Jesus, and little did he know that the Father Almighty Himself would thank him for not only helping in carrying this cross, but for picking up off the ground the SON OF THE ALMIGHTY!
The Tenth Station:
Jesus is Stripped of His Garments
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations.
My precious children, see Me alone with only the soldiers and the two men on the cross, atop this hill of the Crucifixion. The soldiers continue to pull the clothes away from My body. My Holy Mother and all those who are standing around can see that the soldiers desire to humiliate and ridicule me more, by stripping me and leaving nothing on me, not even the purple cloth they had so tenuously tied so that it would not fall of in order to show all, My Robe of Royalty.
This cloth found in the dirt, even more dirty and now soaked in My Blood. Here I stand alone, My head bowed in shame that I had no covering and all could see Me shamefully and maliciously being exhibited, another humiliation which brought laughter to the crowds and tears to My Holy Mother, to John and the others there with My Holy Mother.
My Beloved John trying to shield her, yet she did not want to be protected, she could not bare to look up, she pleaded instead forgiveness of the Father over and over again for all that they were doing to her Son, to the Son of the Almighty.
How quickly are each of you willing to forgive any who have hurt you or your family? Maybe even humiliated you or your family! Would you, could you ask forgiveness of the Father, if all this was being done to your child?

The Ninth Station:
Jesus Falls the Third Time
Praise Be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations
Beloved Little One, I invite you to open your heart for My Words, My Meditations which I will continue giving to you this night. Open with Prayer My Beloved one with the prayers I have invited My children to pray as they begin My Holy Way of My Cross. Oh My children, look at Me your Jesus of Mercy, continuing on the Via Dolorosa with Simon carrying most of the weight of the cross.
For My strength is again beginning to go. The weight of the cross is now to much for me to bare and the pain has caused me total exhaustion to the point of collapsing. But I continue the walk, straining to breathe as the sun and wind blows into my face and my body quickly dehydrating.
Unable to go on, I fall for the third time, again the heavy cross falling and ripping the flesh even more. Such excruciating pain, the rocks, dirt and blood now clinging to the open wounds.
Simon hurriedly tries to hold on even more to the cross so that it does not fall atop of me again. I see that My Mother is standing in the distance with My beloved John and others who are continuing to follow. Her face shows the anguish of seen her son falling again in pain and I know that her desire is to run to Me and save Me.
But again she knows she must remain silent lifting her prayers to the Father as Simon once again is given the strength to lift me and the cross, so that we can continue on this road of the Via Dolorsa.
We can see ahead, the soldiers that already have reached the top of the hill where I am to be crucified. They are drinking, laughing, yelling for me to hurry, so they can get out of the burning penetrating heat. Some of the soldiers are now gathering the crowds away, to give them room to proceed with the other two men who are now being tied to their cross.
Simon and I are now struggling to get up the hill and I can see the soldiers pulling some men out of the crowd to help them lift the crosses, placing them in an upright position in order to give the room needed for my cross. How many times My children, have you allowed situations that you know are wrong, but go along with others, because you either don’t care to change from a lifestyle of sin, even when you know it will cause another disastrous consequences.
Or you feel that you need not make this your business because it has no affect on you. How sadly mistaken My children are, for you see each person is part of My Mystical Body and what affects one in My Mystical Body affects all. Sin has a great affect on all My children but Grace also has a GREATER affect on all My children.
Just as when Simon began this walk with Me, little did he know his heart would change to have love, compassion, empathy for this man called Jesus, and little did he know that the Father Almighty Himself would thank him for not only helping in carrying this cross, but for picking up off the ground the SON OF THE ALMIGHTY!
The Tenth Station:
Jesus is Stripped of His Garments
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all nations.
My precious children, see Me alone with only the soldiers and the two men on the cross, atop this hill of the Crucifixion. The soldiers continue to pull the clothes away from My body. My Holy Mother and all those who are standing around can see that the soldiers desire to humiliate and ridicule me more, by stripping me and leaving nothing on me, not even the purple cloth they had so tenuously tied so that it would not fall of in order to show all, My Robe of Royalty.
This cloth found in the dirt, even more dirty and now soaked in My Blood. Here I stand alone, My head bowed in shame that I had no covering and all could see Me shamefully and maliciously being exhibited, another humiliation which brought laughter to the crowds and tears to My Holy Mother, to John and the others there with My Holy Mother. My Beloved John trying to shield her, yet she did not want to be protected, she could not bare to look up, she pleaded instead forgiveness of the Father over and over again for all that they were doing to her Son, to the Son of the Almighty.
How quickly are each of you willing to forgive any who have hurt you or your family? Maybe even humiliated you or your family! Would you, could you ask forgiveness of the Father, if all this was being done to your child?

The Call of Matthew
As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post. He said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him. While he was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat with Jesus and his disciples. The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
He heard this and said, "Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. Go and learn the meaning of the words, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' I did not come to call the righteous but sinners." Matthew 9:9 13
Here is another message from Our Lord and Savior addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, When I started My public life, I selected 12 men as My Apostles just like My Heavenly Father selected the twelve tribes of Israel to found the Jewish nation. One of the twelve was Matthew, the tax collector.
He was considered a public sinner by the Pharisees and they would not have anything to do with him. I was accused by these Pharisees of doing wrong by eating with Matthew and the other tax collectors and sinners.
I knew Matthew and I wanted him to be one of My Apostles on whom I would build My Church. They would have to be with Me for three years so I could teach them what they needed to know. They were to be My witnesses having experienced many happenings in My presence. Matthew became a fine Apostle and now he is a saint in heaven with Me.
I call many today to be priests and religious throughout the world. Many respond positively to My call while others are taken by the attraction of the world and refuse to accept the call. Pray, My dear brothers and sisters, that more young men and women will open their hearts to Me and answer positively like St. Matthew did. When I called him to follow Me, he immediately got up and followed Me.

Love is a mystery that transforms everything it touches into things beautiful and pleasing to God. The love of God makes a soul free. She is like a queen; she knows no slavish compulsion; she sets about everything with great freedom of soul, because the love which dwells in her incites her to action.
Everything that surrounds her makes her know that only God Himself is worthy of her love. A soul in love with God and immersed in Him approaches her duties with the same dispositions as she does Holy Communion and carries out the simplest tasks with great care, under the loving gaze of God.
She is not troubled if, after some time, something turns out to be less successful. She remains calm, because at the time of the action she had done what was in her power. When it happens that the living presence of God, which she enjoys almost constantly, leaves her, she then tries to continue living in lively faith. Her soul understands that there are periods of rest and periods of battle.
Through her will, she is always with God. Her soul, like a knight, is well trained in battle; from afar it sees where the foe is hiding and is ready for battle. She knows she is not alone-God is her strength. (890)

Feb 17 - MASS IS THE GREATEST PRAYER TO GOD
Today Our Lady emphasizes the importance of preparing for Mass:
The Mass is the greatest prayer to God. You will never be able to comprehend its importance. That is why you must be perfect and humble at Mass, and should prepare yourselves beforehand (First Years 1983).
The word "eucharist" translates into "thanksgiving," which is the spirit of Psalm 116:
What shall I return to the Lord
for all his bounty to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord. --Psalm 116:12-13
Reflection:
In reflecting on the Eucharist today, as the readings indicate, it would be appropriate to hear as well from one of the visionaries on its importance to our spiritual lives. Several years ago, Vicka said:
"Before going to holy Mass, focus intently on who you will be receiving. During Mass, open your heart to Jesus. See him with the "eyes" of your heart. We see and experience and live with Jesus through faith.
That's why, during Mass, our faith must be very strong. The stronger our faith, the better prepared we are to welcome him in the Holy Eucharist.
We must not only listen during Mass, we must really experience all the holy words of the Mass with love. That's why, toward the end of Mass when you are receiving Jesus alive, if your heart is open, he is truly with you. When the Mass ends and you leave the church, you will be filled with unspeakable joy!"
Application:
When attending your next Mass, arrive early so you can prepare. Think of Christ, as Vicka recommends, and give him any worries or problems that might distract you from the eucharist. Review the day's readings from the Sunday missalette, or if attending a daily Mass, use a weekday missal for this purpose (available at religious goods stores).
SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH
"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."
Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.
Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails. Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
