I was a prolific Church writer in the second and third centuries. The sunrise of my life was in and around 160 A.D. At Carthage. My father was a Roman Centurion in government (proconsular) service.
I was an advocate in the Roman (civil) law-courts. I spoke and read proficiently both Greek and Latin, writing in the former.
I converted to Christianity in my later years before 197 A.D.
I was consecrated a priest in the Church of Carthage in and around the year 200 A.D. Around 206 A.D. I joined the Montanist sect of Christianity, I am thought to have separated from the Orthodoxy of the Church in or about about 211A.D. or 213 A.D.
Later I separated from the Montanists and am said to have founded a Christian sect of his my own. Augustine reconciled my remaining followers (Tertullianists) to the Church. St Jerome says I lived to old age.
The Carthage Church system included those who committed grievous sins confessed them to the bishop. I absolved them after due penance enjoined and performed, unless the case was in his judgment so grave that public penance was obligatory.
Public penance was allowed only once. It lasted for protracted periods, even often until the death’s hour. At the end of it forgiveness and restoration were promised. At the prayer of martyrs, the term was frequently shortened.
It has been said my Trinitarian teaching proves inconsistent, an amalgamation of the Roman doctrine with that of Justin martyr.
But scholars have pointed out that I have the true formula for the Holy Trinity, tres Personae, una Substantia. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are numerically distinct, and each is they are of one substance, one state, and one power. My doctrine is Nicene derivative.
Though not in Scripture, my list of customs observed by Apostolic tradition remains renowned: the baptismal renunciations and feeding with milk and honey, fasting Communion, offerings for the dead (Masses) on their anniversaries, no fasting or kneeling on the Lord's Day and between Easter and Pentecost, anxiety as to the falling to the ground of any crumb or drop of the Holy Eucharist, the Sign of the Cross made continually during the day.
I am among the preeminent firsts of the Latin theological writers. I have developed a theological idiom of explanation. I have been said to have used new expressions. I am among the first witnesses to the Latin Bible being extant in my day. Scholars think I frequently translated from the Greek Bible in my writing. Perpetua possessed one at Carthage in 203 A.D.

Dear Friends,
As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
At once they left their nets and followed him. He walked along from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him. Matthew 4:18 22
Here is another message from Our Lord addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, My Father founded the State of Israel on the twelve tribes that issued forth from the twelve sons of Jacob or Israel. So, in order to establish My Church I founded her on the twelve Apostles chosen by Me.
Their names are Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James, Thaddeus, Simon and Judas Iscariot. I called them one by one to leave everything and to follow Me.
They were with Me about three years. They were present at all My speeches and they witnessed many of My healings. I give them talks when I was alone with them and I answered their questions. I gave them power to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and to drive out demons.
They became the leaders of My Church under the headship of Peter. They all worked very well except Judas who denied Me and killed himself. All the others are saints and they are with Me in heaven. All the Bishops and priests are successors of the Apostles and the Pope of Rome is the successor of St.
Peter.
I founded only one Church and where the successor of Peter is, there is My Church. Accept My Church today and follow her teachings, which I gave to her. She alone teaches the full truth I brought to you. I bless you all.

Dear Friends,
The Visit of the Magi
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage. When King Herod heard this, he was greatly troubled and all Jerusalem with him.
Assembling all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea. Herod sent them to Bethlehem and said, Go and search diligently for the child.
When you have found him, bring me word, that I too may go and do him homage. After their audience with the king they set out. And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them, until it came and stopped over the place where the child was. They were overjoyed at seeing the star, and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother.
They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their country by another way. Matthew 2:1 5, 8:12
Joseph received another message from Our Lord and this is the message he received from Jesus, The Magi who were not Jews came from the east of Israel following a star to Jerusalem. They had seen a star, which they interpreted as the star of the newborn king of the Jews and they wanted to go and do homage to him. They stopped in Jerusalem to ask King Herod where I was born.
The chief priests and the scribes knew that the Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem, so the king sent them to Bethlehem to find him and to report to him so he too could go and do him homage. They left and the star guided them to the house where I was with My Mother. They did Me homage and gave me great gifts. Then they returned home another way because they were told not to return to Herod as what he had told them about doing homage to Me was a lie.
On this Feast of Epiphany or Manifestation, I manifested Myself to the Gentiles, as I came as the Savior of all the people of the world not only the Jews. This is seen today by the fact that My Church is spread throughout the world.
The three magi represent all of you, non-Jews, who have come to believe in Me and to follow Me. Today is your great Feast. Come and render Me homage like the magi and I will bless you. You are My beloved friends for whom I came into this world and for whom I died.

Jan 7 - DEEPEN YOUR FAITH
The Blessed Mother speaks today of deepening our faith:
For you who have the faith, this time constitutes a great opportunity for you to be converted, and to deepen your faith (Locutionists Jelena & Mirjana December 15, 1982).
And Jesus speaks of the great power of faith:
He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move form here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you" (Mt 17:20).
Reflection:
There is a story of the poet Coleridge who one day listened to a visitor's vehement argument against religious education of the young. His acquaintance had concluded with a statement of his determination not to prejudice his children toward any faith or religion, but to let them make up their own minds when thy reached maturity. Coleridge made no immediate comment, but shortly afterwards asked this same visitor if he would like to see his garden. Receiving a positive response, he led his guest to a strip of lawn that was overgrown with weeds.
"Why, this is no garden. It's nothing but a weed patch", said his guest.
"Oh", replied Coleridge, "that's because it hasn't come to its maturity yet. The weeds, you see, have taken the opportunity to grow, and I thought it would be unfair of me to prejudice the soil toward roses and strawberries".
Clearly one of the responsibilities of faith is to pass it on to the next generation. If we believe it to be the most precious of gifts, as Jesus and his Mother teach us today, then we will be anxious to share it with others, especially those closest to us.

In your life, who was most instrumental in handing on the faith to you? In prayer, reflect on the ways that you in turn can pass on your faith to others.

If you pray, a source of life will flow from your hearts. If you pray with strength, if you pray with faith, you will receive graces from this source, and your group will be strengthened (Locutionists Jelena & Mirjana October 24, 1983).
Jesus speaks of group prayer in the following passage from scripture:
Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about everything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them (Mt 18:19-20).
Reflection:
In Medjugorje, Our Lady has made a point of encouraging group prayer, and has founded two prayer groups herself, one led by Ivan and Marija, the other by the two young locutionists, Jelena and Mirjana Vasilj.
Concerning such groups, Ivan has said, "The Gospa would like prayer groups throughout the world. Through prayer we come to know God, and there is much power in group prayer".
With regard to the organization of such groups, Ivan emphasizes the importance of a dedicated and reliable leader. Also, he says, "the prayer group should have a definite goal. The members should have a reason to meet and pray and fast".
The goal of his own group is to help the Blessed Virgin to achieve God's plans, no less than the conversion of the world. "We do this", he says, "through living the messages and encouraging others to live them."
Application:
Have you considered joining a prayer group in your local area, or perhaps starting one if none exist? You could count on an array of blessings from the Mother of God in doing so.

During adoration I felt God close to me. A moment later I saw Jesus and Mary. At the sight of them I was filled with joy, and I asked the Lord, "What is Your will, Jesus, concerning the matter about which my confessor told me to ask You?"
Jesus replied, It is My will that he should remain here and that he should not take the initiative of dispensing himself. I asked Jesus whether the inscription could be: "Christ King of Mercy." He answered, I am King of Mercy, but He did not say "Christ." I desire that this image be displayed in public on the first Sunday after Easter. That Sunday is the Feast of Mercy. Through the Word Incarnate I make known the bottomless depth of My mercy. (88)
Strangely, all things came about just as the Lord had requested. In fact, it was on the first Sunday after Easter [April, 1935] that the image was publicly honored by crowds of people for the first time. For three days it was exposed and received public veneration. Since it was placed at the very top of a window at Ostra Brama [Shrine of Our Lady above the "Eastern Gate" to the city of Vilnius], it could be seen from a great distance.
At Ostra Brama, during these three days, the closing of the Jubilee of the Redemption of the World was being celebrated, marking the nineteen hundred years that have passed since the Passion of our Savior. I see now that the work of Redemption is bound up with the work of mercy requested by the Lord. (89)

Of love and peace, Our Lady said to Jelena:
Dear children! I want you to live each new day with love and peace. I want you to be the carrier of peace and love. People need so much those graces of peace and love, but they have lost them because they don't pray!
Create in your hearts a permanent prayer, because only thus will you be able to be prepared vessels. Through prayer your Father will build you into the vessels he wants. For this abandon yourselves completely to him (Locution Jelena & Mirajana July 11, 1987).
I have given you my love, so that you may give it to others (First Years September 1987).
And to Marija in 1985:
I have given you my love, so that you may give it to others (First Years September 1985).
In Romans, Paul echoes this call to love:
Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord (Rom 12:9-11).
Reflection:
With the Blessed Mother, St. Paul also emphasizes the law of love, which supercedes even civil and religious laws. Sometimes we can excuse our indifference to others simply because we have no legal obligation to help them. We even can justify harming them if our actions are technically legal.
But Jesus and his Mother do not leave loopholes in their call to love. Whenever love requires it, we are asked to go beyond human legal requirements and imitate their loving kindness.
Application:
Today, reflect on this thought by St. Catherine of Sienna: "The reason why God's servants love others so much is that they see how much Christ loves them, and it is one of the properties of love to love what is loved by the person we love?"

Those Who Follow Jesus Will Fear Not!
Saturday I visited church to make the Sacrament of Penance. And attended my usual 8:00 A.M. Mass at my parish where I made small sacrifices to Jesus and Mary and prayed for all with special needs and intentions.
With new enthusiasm, I prayed to my guardian angel to help guide me and to intercede for me with Jesus that I hear only and see only His word after Holy Communion.
After making perfect Act of Contrition, I received the Eucharist and knelt giving thanks and praise to God. Then I prayed saying; Speak Lord, Your servant listens.
Jesus responded to my prayer saying, My child Eileen, hear the wind blow and see how the roofs shake, some being completely torn away! Yet there is not one human being who can control the forces of nature, but for the Lord Your God!
Those who are Mine will follow Me and I will lead them to safety! Man with of luke warm faith will be taken over by the evil one who will control their comings and goings. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.

Vision to littlest of servants January 4, 2009
While driving to MASS this morning I saw the words DNA.
Then the ETERNAL FATHER spoke and said that there is only ONE GOD and that there shall be no false gods before HIM. That men are trying to play god and HE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS.
That HE is the CREATOR and we are the created. That the clay does not tell the pottery maker what he wishes to be nor will HE allow us to run HIS CREATION. That the created are trying to play creator and that this will not be allowed. That now man would feel the power of HIS MOST HOLY JUSTICE and that we would be brought to our knees.
That we have forced HIS HAND and in order to protect HIS CREATION HE MUST TAKE ACTION. If HE does not man will destroy HIS CREATION and himself in the process.
Later at MASS I again saw the words DNA but this time I saw an Angel and he had a sword in his hand and the sword was flaming red indicating JUSTICE. On the sword I saw the words abortion, DNA, stem cell, and cloning on it.
I then saw the angel standing over the earth and he touched the earth with the tip of the sword and when he did this the entire earth started to shake.
I then hear GOD THE FATHER say they shall have no false gods before ME. The ETERNAL FATHER then said that HE takes no comfort in what has to be done but it is necessary.
JESUS then spoke and told me that the world must be purified of it filth in order for HIS REIGN to start. That the world must go through a purification in order that all creation be returned to the original state that the MOST HOLY TRINITY FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT intended for it.

January 4, 2009
On New Year's Eve, I took a short nap while waiting for the
clock to strike 12:01 to welcome the new year. I had a scary dream.
I saw myself and my wife walking into a big church (not St. Francis
where I attend daily mass).
While inside, I saw torrents of water
pouring down from the roof and the walls of the church building.
Fearing that the building would collapse from the sheer force of the
onrushing water, I told my wife to run with all her might out of
the building. No matter how much faster we run, we were still
engulfed by the surging waters and found ourselves struggling to
remain afloat. At the end, I saw that my wife and myself survived
the great flood.
A tsunami dream perhaps. There is recent news of a huge earthquake
occuring near us at 7.2 magnitude. Here is the report:

Leader. Peace be to this house and all who live here. During these days of the Christmas season, we keep this feast of Epiphany. Through the guidance of a star, the coming of Jesus was made known to the Gentiles. We celebrate Christ made known to the Magi, to John in the River Jordan, and to the disciples at the wedding at Cana.
Today Christ is made known to us! Today this home is a holy place!
The Magi came from the east to Bethlehem to adore the Lord.
"They went into the house, and when they saw the child
with His mother Mary, they knelt down and worshipped him.
They brought out their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh,
and presented them to Him." [Matthew 2:11]
We bow our heads and pray for God's blessing . . .
Lord our God, bless our home and all who live here.
May we be filled with health, goodness of heart,
gentleness, obedience to Your law, and thanksgiving to the Father,
and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Help us love and respect one another
