Prayer to bless your home!

FROM: "The Precious Blood" and "Mother"
by The Monastery, Precious Blood, Edmonton, Alberta

O Holy Virgin Mary, conceived without sin, I choose thee this day, to be
the Lady and Mistress of our home, and I pray thee, in the name of the Most
Precious Blood of Jesus, thy Divine Son, and of thy Immaculate Conception, to
preserve it from fire and lightning, from tempests and thieves, from cholera,
influenza, diphtheria, malaria, and all other contagious and pestilential
diseases.

Bless and protect every member of our family, preserve us from sin, from
sudden and unprovided death, and from all other evils and accidents, in the name
and through the Lord, may everything we do begin with Your inspiration and continue with Your help, so that all our prayers and works may begin in You and by You be
happily ended. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

FATHER MELVIN DOUCETTE

"The time for repentance is here"

Saturday, January 03, 2009

Dear Friends,

The Lament over Jerusalem

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how many times I yearned to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her young under her wings, but you were unwilling. Behold, your house will be abandoned, desolate.

I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’ Jesus left the temple area and was going away, when his disciples approached him to point out the temple buildings. He said to them in reply, ‘You see all these things, do you not? Amen, I say to you, there will not be left here a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.’” Matthew 23:37–39, 24:1–2

Here is another message from Our Lord given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, “The people of the city of Jerusalem did not accept Me as the Messiah, the Savior. It was there that I was arrested, beaten, scourged and condemned to death.

The people at the trial shouted these words, ‘Crucify him, crucify him.’ I was condemned to death in that city and they forced Me to carry My cross to Golgotha where I was crucified and died on the cross. It is true that I accepted to suffer and die for your salvation in this very cruel manner in this city.

Before My Passion and Death, I had pronounced a harsh word against Jerusalem. I had said that it would be abandoned and desolate. I had also added these words, ‘Amen, I say to you, there will not be left here a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown away.’ This was a prophecy against this city that had rejected Me. It was completely destroyed in the year 70.

Now let us come to today. We have a similar situation in most countries of the world. Many, many people have rejected Me. You simply have to look at Europe and see the wholesale apostasy. It is similar in other parts of the world although it is not so widespread. This is why you are now in a depression with many people out of work, companies are closing, the stock market has collapsed and many people have lost most of their money, etc.

It will get worst if you do not change your life around. Repent of your sins and accept Me as your Redeemer and follow My Church and you will see an improvement. Return now before it gets worst. The time for repentance is here.”

Father Melvin

Message to Mirjana - January 2, 2009

"Dear children! While great Heavenly grace is being lavished upon you, your hearts remain hard and without response. My children, why do you not give me your hearts completely? I only desire to put in them peace and salvation – my Son. With my Son your soul will be directed to noble goals and you will never get lost. Even in greatest darkness you will find the way. My children, decide for a new life with the name of my Son on your lips. Thank you."

Christmas issue is great!

"Called to continue before the Most Blessed Sacrament the Magi's adoration
at the Crib of Bethlehem, we ought to make ours the thought and love which
guided and sustained them. They began at Bethlehem what we are doing in the
presence of the Sacred Host . . . .

"The adoration of the Magi was a homage of faith and a tribute of love to
the Incarnate Word; such ought to be our Eucharistic adoration . . . .
"How fortunate we are to be able to share, through the Eucharist, the
happiness of Mary, of the Magi, and of the first disciples who offered gifts to
Jesus Christ! In the Eucharist we still have the poverty of Bethlehem to
relieve.

Oh! Yes! All the good things of grace and of glory come to us through
the divine Eucharist. Their fountainhead is at Bethlehem, which became a
heaven of love; they gathered volume all through the life of the Savior; and all
these rivers of grace, virtue, and merit empty into the ocean of this adorable
Sacrament, in which we possess them in all their fullness . . . .

"The Magi are our models, the first adorers. Let us be worthy of their
royal faith in Jesus Christ. Let us be heirs to their love, and one day we
will be heirs to their glory. Amen" (St. Peter Julian Eymard).

Mother Teresa -
What is important is that we are able to smile at one another in our families.

Padre Pio - Oh how precious time is! Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it, because, on the day of judgment, all will have to render a strict account of it to the supreme Judge. Oh, if only all could understand how precious time is, undoubtedly everyone would do his best to spend it in a praise worthy manner!

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Passion is definitely a conscious affair

"Passion is not a reflex like the watering of a dog's mouth in the presence of food. It is true that there are many similarities between passion in animals and passion in man, but it must never be forgotten that in man, passion cannot operate unless something is known. The eye has a reflex action when someone is about to thrust his finger into it, but passion is a conscious affair; it is something that happens to a creature endowed with reason and free will."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html Write this: before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort:

All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day. (83)

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You! (84)

On Friday, after Holy Communion, I was carried in spirit before the throne of God. There I saw the heavenly Powers which incessantly praise God. Beyond the throne I saw a brightness inaccessible to creatures, and there only the Incarnate Word enters as Mediator.

When Jesus entered this light, I heard these words, Write down at once what you hear: I am the Lord in My essence and am immune to orders or needs. If I call creatures into being-that is the abyss of My mercy. And at that very moment I found myself, as before, in our chapel at my kneeler, just as Mass had ended. I already had these words written. (85)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

Jan 4 - ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON

The Blessed Mother sees our happiness as the best way to attract others to the faith. She said to Jelena's prayer group:

When you convey my messages, be on your guard that they are not lost. Convey my messages with humility, so that in seeing your happiness, others will desire to share it.

Do not carry my messages lightly, simply scatter before people (Locutionist Jelena & Mirjana July 1985).

In his letter to the Romans, Paul also stresses the great importance of those who carry the message of faith:

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (Rom 10 :13-15).

Reflection:

The American saint, Elizabeth Ann Seton, exemplified the qualities of discipleship we see in our readings today: courage in carrying the message of faith, a joyfulness that attracted others, and the zeal to bear a great harvest for the Lord.

Upon the death of her husband, by whom she had five children, Elizabeth became a convert to Catholicism, and in 1809 established an order of teaching sisters. She founded a great number of Catholic schools and is now honored as the patroness of Catholic education in America.

In her short life (she died on this day at the age of 46), she had a profound effect on American Catholicism which is still felt to this day.

Application:
In her honor, let us offer the Anima Christi (Body of Christ) written by Elizabeth Ann Seton:

Soul of Jesus, sanctify me; blood of Jesus, wash me; passion of Jesus, comfort me; wounds of Jesus, hide me; heart of Jesus, receive me; Spirit of Jesus, enliven me; goodness of Jesus, pardon me; beauty of Jesus, draw me; humility of Jesus, humble me; peace of Jesus, pacify me; love of Jesus, inflame me; kingdom of Jesus, come to me; grace of Jesus, replenish me; mercy of Jesus, pity me; sanctify me; purity of Jesus purify me.

SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."

Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.

Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails. Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
