Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary Protectress of Africa

Holy Mary, Mother of God, Protectress of Africa, you have given to the world the true Light, Jesus Christ. Through your obedience to the Father and the grace of the Holy Spirit, you have given us the source of our reconciliation and our justice, Jesus Christ, our peace and our joy.

Mother of Tenderness and Wisdom, show us Jesus, your Son and the Son of God. Guide our path of conversion, so that Jesus might shine his glory on us in every aspect of our personal, familial and social lives.

Mother, full of Mercy and Justice, through your docility to the Spirit, the Counselor, obtain for us the grace to be witnesses of the Risen Lord, so that we will increasingly become the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Mother of Perpetual Help, we entrust to your maternal intercession the preparation and fruits of the Second Special Assembly for Africa. Queen of Peace, pray for us! Our Lady of Africa, pray for us!

Dear Friends,

The Canticle of Mary

Mary said:

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;

My spirit rejoices in God my savior,

For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness;

Behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.

The Almighty One has done great things for me,

And holy is his name.

His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.

He has shown might with his arms,

Dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.

He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones

But lifted up the lowly.

The hungry he has filled with good things;

The rich he has sent away empty.

He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy,

According to his promise to our fathers,

To Abraham and to his descendants forever.

Luke 1:46--5

Here is a message of Our Blessed Mother addressed to Joseph. She spoke to him in these words,

My heart is full of love for you, My sons and daughters. I wish to embrace every one of you for you are all very dear to Me. I sang the Magnificat at My cousin Elizabeth’s home. I rejoiced in God for all the great things He did for Me.

He has mercy on His people if they come to Him and ask Him to have pity of them. He is always ready to help those who believe in Him and love Him. I call you all to repeat My canticle today with great joy and to give yourselves completely to Jesus, your Lord and Savior. Live in close union with Him and He will bless you and fill you with His peace and joy. I am your Mother who loves you and I want you all to be with Me in heaven one day.

"Come and receive the New Pentecost"

Friday, July 03, 2009

Dear Friends,

Saul’s Baptism

There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. He answered, Here I am, Lord. The Lord said to him, Get up and go to the street called Straight and ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is there praying, and (in a vision) he has seen a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him, that he may regain his sight.

But Ananias replied, Lord, I have heard from many sources about this man, what evil things he has done to your holy ones in Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison all who call upon your name. But the Lord said to him, Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before Gentiles, kings, and Israelites, and I will show him what he will have to suffer for my name.

So Ananias went and entered the house; laying his hands on him, he said, Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Immediately things like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. He got up and was baptized, and when he had eaten, he recovered his strength. Acts 9:10-19

Here is a message of the Lord addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words,

Paul, who was known as Saul before his conversion, was a chosen instrument of mine to bring about the conversion of the people of the world. He had been persecuting the early Church but he had a great spiritual experience and became My follower. He was baptized by Ananias in Damascus a few days after he was knocked down. Paul worked very hard in spreading the Gospel and died a martyr’s death in Rome.

He is an example for all of you, of a person filled with the Holy Spirit and on fire to spread the Gospel throughout the world. He never looked back and worked with great determination to bring the people to Me. He established My Church in many areas of the known world. He is now with Me in heaven and praying for you all.

Come, My people, and receive the New Pentecost and be renewed completely in faith and love to follow Me and to work for Me.

Father Melvin

MESSAGE FROM HEAVEN
SHARON FITZPATRICK - LOCUTIONIST

MY DEAR DEAR PRECIOUS LITTLE CHILDREN,

HOW SWEET IS THE NIGHT THAT FINDS YOU WITH COMFORT AND PEACE. THE SOFT BREEZE KISSES YOUR CHEEKS AND IN MY GARDEN YOU FIND THE PEACE OF MY SON. I GREET YOU AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR FIDELITY.

MY LITTLE CHILDREN, I HAVE SAID TO YOU THAT THE PRIESTS MUST BE IN SOLIDARITY. THEY MUST GRASP THE TRUTH AND HOLD IT FIRMLY. NO ONE SHOULD CONVINCE THEM TO COMPROMISE OR LESSEN ITS VALUE. I AM WAITING FOR THE MOMENT WHEN THEY SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH AND THUS DECIDE TO HOLD ON TO IT.

WHEN THEY DECIDE, I SHALL GATHER THEM, SEPARATING THEM ALSO LIKE THE SHEEP AND THE GOATS. THERE CAN BE NO PRIEST TO STAND ON HIS OWN FORMAT. THEY SHALL DECIDE TO STAND WITH AND FOR JESUS - OR NOT. HOW BLESSED WILL THOSE BE WHO CHOOSE SOLIDARITY.

DEAR CHILDREN, AS YOU PRAY, CONFIDENT THAT ALL YOUR PRAYERS ARE HEARD, OPEN YOUR HEARTS TO ALL WHO SEEK YOU OUT. BE PATIENT, BUT STRONG. REMAIN ALSO IN THE TRUTH, NEVER BENDING TO APPEASE THOSE WHO WILL NOT CONFORM. YOU CANNOT CHANGE THOSE WHO WILL DECIDE AGAINST YOU AND THE TRUTH.

THE DAYS PASS QUICKLY AND YOU SEE HOW EVIL HAS TAKEN ROOT AND IS FAST ACCEPTED BY MAN. BUT GOD?S HAND IS ALSO SWIFT AND WHAT YOU DO NOT SEE IS THE SIMPLICITY OF HIS PLAN AND THE SURENESS OF HIS GRACE. AND SO I SAY TO YOU TRUST. BE ALERT.

BE ALWAYS FOR GOD AND FOR EACH OTHER. PRAY, LITTLE CHILDREN WITH EARNEST, KNOWING THAT PRAYER CAN CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF MAN AND BRING ABOUT THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH.
WITH A DEEP AND TRUE LOVE DO I BLESS YOU, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.

THE BLESSING OF CHRIST IS YOURS AS WELL, AND SO KNOWING THIS GIVE YOUR HEARTS OVER WITH PRAISE AND GRATITUDE - NOW AND FOREVER.

Medjugorje Day By Day July 07 - Be The Carriers of My Peace

"The greatest love story of all time is contained in a tiny white Host." Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

Mother Teresa -
The Father's love, the Son's love, and our love is but a giving until it hurts.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
The enemy is very strong and all things considered it seems that victory must smile on him. Alas! Who is to save me from the hands of so strong and powerful an enemy who allows me not a moment of freedom day or night?

Is it possible that the Lord will allow my downfall? Unhappily this is what I deserve, but can it be that the heavenly Father's goodness will be outdone by my wickedness? This will never, never be, my dear Father (Letters III p 618).

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Hate the sin and offenses, but love the sinner and offender

It has been my lot to spend much time with men who have suffered in prisons, death marches, Siberia, concentration camps and other forms of Communist tortures. But I have never known any one of them who ever said a harsh word against his persecutors. Like some trees which bathe with perfume the ax which cuts them, they had nothing but pardon for those who did them violence. They hated Communism, but they loved the Communists."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
My Lord and Creator, Your goodness encourages me to converse with You. Your mercy abolishes the chasm which separates the Creator from the creature.

To converse with You, O Lord, is the delight of my heart. In You I find everything that my heart could desire. Here Your light illumines my mind, enabling it to know You more and more deeply. Here streams of graces flow down upon my heart. Here my soul draws eternal life. O my Lord and Creator, You alone, beyond all these gifts, give Your own self to me and unite Yourself intimately with Your miserable creature. Here, without searching for words, our hearts understand each other. Here, no one is able to interrupt our conversation.

What I talk to You about, Jesus, is our secret, which creatures shall not know and Angels dare not ask about. These are secret acts of forgiveness, known only to Jesus and me; this is the mystery of His mercy, which embraces each soul separately, For this incomprehensible goodness of Yours, I adore You, O Lord and Creator, with all my heart and all my soul. And, although my worship is so little and poor, I am at peace because I know that You know it is sincere, however inadequate...(1692)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.
-

July 7 - Be The Carriers of My Peace

Our Lady gave the following message to Vicka for the prayer group:

Dear Children, I give you my motherly blessing and ask you to be the carriers of my peace, and to pray for peace in the world. (VPG 11-14-88)

In Colossians, Paul also speaks of peace:

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. (Col 3:15)

Reflection:

One of the great passages on peace was engraved on a monument dated 1629 in a Baltimore church. It has come down to us known as the Desiderata. The following excerpt is an appropriate reflection today with our readings on peace:

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story...

You are a child of the Universe, no less than the trees and the stars. You have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, however you conceive him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

Application:

Explore the wisdom of the Desiderata by reflecting on it again during your prayer time today.

Medjugorje Day By Day July 06 - FEAR NOTHING

"God is waiting for us in Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. Let us not leave him waiting in vain! Let us not, through distraction and lethargy, pass by the greatest and most important thing life offers us . . . .

Let us not pass it heedlessly by. Let us take time, in the course of the week, in passing, to go in and spend a moment with the Lord who is so near. During the day our churches should not be allowed to be dead houses, standing empty and seemingly useless. Jesus Christ's invitation is always being proffered from them.

This sacred proximity to us is always alive in them. It is always calling us and inviting us in. This is what is lovely about Catholic churches, that within them there is, as it were, always worship, because the Eucharistic presence of the Lord dwells always within them" (Pope Benedict XVI).

"Our Lord knew well that we were too weak to walk courageously along the road of life that is often very difficult. So His prophet who saw from afar all the treasures hidden in the Church of Jesus Christ said, 'Thou hast prepared a table before me, against them that afflict me' (Psalm 23:5). The food of this table is Jesus Christ Himself; His Divine Flesh, His precious Blood. It is He who prepares the feast and invites us to it." (St. Madeleine Sophie Barat)

Mother Teresa -
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Jesus said, " As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. "

Meditations by Padre Pio -
Make a particular effort to practice sweetness and submission to the will of God, not only in extraordinary natters, but even in the little things that occur daily. Make these acts not only in the morning, but also during the day and in the evening, with a tranquil and joyful spirit. And if you should fail in this, humble yourself, make a new proposition, get up and continue on your way (Letters III p 708).

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Beauty is in the heart of the beholder!

"One of the great trials of marriage is the absence of solitude. In the first moments of human love, one does not see the little hidden deformities which later on appear. It is not the great hurts which cause enthusiasm to cool, but rather the steady diet of mediocrities, the repeated insincerities, the getting used to one another's company, the everyday dust of human existence.

There comes a moment when the wife seems less beautiful just because of the habit of seeing her. What is often seen is no longer thought to be beautiful. Much of what is beautiful is determined by two things: by surprise and by love. When enthusiasm cools, then one hears 'You are not the one whom I married.'"

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
O my Creator, I long for You! You understand me, O Lord of mine! All that is on earth seems to be like a pale shadow. It is You I long for and desire. Although You do so inconceivably much for me, for You Yourself visit me in a special way, yet those visits do not soothe the wound of the heart, but make me long all the more for You, O Lord.

Oh, take me to Yourself, Lord, if such is Your will! You know that I am dying, and I am dying of longing for You; and yet, I cannot die. Death, where are you? You draw me into the abyss of Your divinity, and You veil yourself with darkness. My whole being is immersed in You, yet I desire to see You face to face. When will this come about for me? (841)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press. -

July 6 - FEAR NOTHING

Our Lady calls us to safe harbor, to fear not:

I am your Mother and Jesus is your great friend. Fear nothing in his presence. Give him your heart. Tell him of your sufferings from the bottom of your heart, for this way you will be strengthened in prayer. Your heart will be free, at peace and without fear. (Locutionist Jelena Message 11-29-83)

And in Luke's gospel, Jesus quiets the fear of his disciples:

A windstorm swept down on the lake, and the boat was filling with water, and they were in danger. They went to him and woke him up, shouting, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" And he woke up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; they ceased, and there was calm. He said to them, "Where is your faith?" They were afraid and amazed, and said to one another, "Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?" (Luke 8:22-25)

Reflection:

The Sea of Galilee is still the scene of fierce storms, sometimes with waves as high as 20 feet. Christ's disciples were not frightened without cause. Even though several of them were expert fishermen and knew how to handle a boat, their peril was real.

We, like the disciples, are called to experience awe at the immense power of Christ, who calms a fierce storm with a word. Jesus demonstrates his power over creation in a way that only the Creator could. Through this story we recognize that Jesus the Messiah is the Creator of the universe, the most high God. As John writes: "All things came into being through him, and without him, nothing came to be" (John 13).

Application:

Mary tells us that "Jesus is your great friend. Do not fear anything in his presence." Today, briefly call to mind any fears, lifting them up to Christ so that he can calm and release them from your heart.

SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."

Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.

Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails). Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
