Paphnutius the Great. I was born in the Upper Thebaid, Kemet. I fought vigorously the Arian heresy in Africa. I was tortured, losing one eye to be plucked out, and one leg hamstrung, under Maximinus Thrax. After the year 311 A.D. I followed Saint Anthony; I was made a bishop of a diocese in the Thebaid. Emperor Constantine respected me. I defended Athanasius, at the Synod of Tyre (335 A.D.). I promulgated that priests should not allowed to be married AFTER THEY ARE ORDAINED, at the first Council of Nicea. I died 356 A.D.; 11 Sept Latin Rite. 9 Feb, 1 May, Coptic Calendar.
Paphnutius and 546 companions. Martyrs . I lived as a hermit in the Thebaid, upper Kemet. I went to the prefect wanting to be jailed with other Christians, during the persecutions. In the dungeon, I bolstered the faith of the wavering.
I was nailed to a date tree, as others authorities beheaded after torturing, at Tenthyra Kemet. 24 Sept (Latin Rite), 25 Sept. 22 Sept, Coptic Calendar.
Paphnutius with companions. We were martyred in Kemet, under Roman Emperor Diocletian. 4th century. 24 Sept.

Quodvultdeus, I was a bishop and confessor at Carthage, about 437 A.D. In 439 A.D. King Geiseric (Arian) grabbed thee city by conquest. He seized all Catholic churches, and the property of the wealthy, sending many into exile.
I was deported with my priests. Church goods were taken. The grace of God’s wind sent us to Italy’s coastline, at Naples. We patiently ministered to the people there in adversity. When we died (Quodvultdeus, around 450 A.D.), the people proclaimed us as saints. 26 Oct. , 19 Feb.

"I will give you the grace you need"
Dear Friend,
Paul’s Arrest
... The Jews from the province of Asia noticed Paul in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd, and laid hands on him, shouting, “Fellow Israelites, help us. This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place, and what is more, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this sacred place.†... The whole city was in turmoil with people rushing together.
They seized and dragged Paul out of the temple, and immediately the gates were closed. While they were trying to kill him, a report reached the cohort commander that all Jerusalem was rioting. He immediately took soldiers and centurions and charged down on them. When they saw the commander and the soldiers they stop beating Paul.
The cohort commander came forward, arrested him, and ordered him to be secured with two chains; he tried to find out who he might be and what he had done.
Some in the mob shouted one thing, others something else; so, since he was unable to ascertain the truth because of the uproar, he ordered Paul to be brought into the compound. When he reached the steps, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob, for a crowd of people followed and shouted, Away with him! Acts 21:27–28, 30–36
We had a partly sunny day yesterday with some rain now and then. This morning the sun is shining bright and it is cool.
Here is the message from Our Lord given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words,
My great Apostle Paul suffered much as he traveled around the world of his time. Often he was beaten, thrown out of the city, cursed and people would tell lies about him. When he was in the temple in Jerusalem one day, people started shouting against him and dragged him out of the temple and started to beat him desiring to kill him. The soldiers came and took him away from the people and arrested him. He spent years in prison although he never did anything wrong. At the end he was beheaded in Rome.
My brothers and sisters, do not fear those who can kill your bodies but fear the one who can condemn you body and soul into hell. Therefore, place your heart in Me, your Savior, and follow Me in good days and in not so good days. I will give you the grace you need.

St. John Bosco advised those about to receive First Holy Communion to take St. Dominic Savio as their Patron Saint, due to his love of Jesus Eucharistic.
He loved to visit and spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament daily, and invite his friends too. St. Dominic wrote, "What else do I need to be happy? Nothing in this world but to be able to see Him, Whom I now see by faith and adore on the altar."

JULY 16 - OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL
Our Lady speaks of consecration today:
Dear children, I call you daily to live the messages which I am giving you because I want to draw your closer to the heart of Jesus. Therefore, little children, I am calling you today to the prayer of consecration to Jesus, my dear Son, so that each of your hearts may be his. And then I am calling you to consecration to my immaculate heart. I want you to consecrate yourselves as person, families, and parishes so that all belongs to God through my hands (Monthly Message October 25, 1988).
Consecration is a way of confirming our total dedication to the Lord. As Peter writes:
Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you (2 Pt 1: 10-11).
Reflection :
The feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel speaks of profound dedication or consecration to the loving hearts of Jesus and Mary, as Carmelite religious have done for centuries. This is an act of love that links us to them forever.
Today the Virgin asks to help us on this path of love: « .I want to draw you closer to the heart of Jesus.
"And so she calls us to the prayers of consecration to the heart of Jesus and to her immaculate heart, so that all belongs to God through my hands." To consecrate means to completely dedicate ourselves. It means to irrevocably decide for God, to commit ourselves body and soul. It puts us in mind of the inscription on the papal coast of arms: "totus tuus," or "totally yours."
It is in regard to his act of profound dedication that Mary exhorts us: "pray that you may comprehend the greatness of this message (of consecration) which I am giving you." Consecration must be taken very seriously, for it is a radical commitment, a vow to the Lord himself.
Application: On this feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, let us again reverently consecrate ourselves to Jesus and Mary (prayers on November 24 and 25) and, as she says, « by constant prayer press tightly to my motherly heart. »

"The Church believes that a holy hour spent before the Blessed Sacrament does more good for the well-being of the world than whole days spent in talking about progress to the utter oblivion of the fact that the only true progress consists in the diminution of the traces of original sin; she believes that a penitent returning to God is of far more consequence than the cancellation of war debts; that an increase of sanctifying grace in a soul is of far more value than the increase of international credit; that a group of cloistered nuns in prayer are more effective in preserving world peace than a group of world politicians discussing peace to the forgetfulness of the Prince of Peace" (Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen).

The greater our love for God, the less our needs in this world
"Contentment is based on the idea that `our sufficiency is not from ourselves but from God.' The soul does not desire or lack more than what God has supplied him. His will suits his state after he has exhausted his resources and his desire does not exceed his power. Hence everything that happens is judged to be as good and worthy of Divine appointment. As Socrates observed: `He is nearest to God who needs the fewest things.'"

July 15 - LIVE IN MUTUAL LOVE
Today the Blessed Mother speaks of love:
Dear children, today I call you to live and practice love in your life love for God and for your neighbor.
Without love, dear children, you can do nothing. Therefore I call you to live in mutual love. Only in that way can you love and accept me, as well as all those around you who are coming to the parish.
Then everyone will sense my love through you. And so I beseech you, dear children, to start loving form today with an ardent, powerful Love the same love with which I love each one of you (Weekly Message May 29, 1986).
St. John speaks of love casting out all fear.
God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. Love has been perfected among us in this : that we may have boldness on the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love (1 Jan 4 :16-18).
Reflection:
In this passage from John's first letter, we are assured that, « there is no fear in love. » This is illustrated in a story set in Nazi Germany. An order had gone out the incurables and the insane were no longer to be a burden on the Reich.
Three high officials descended upon the Bethel institution (a huge hospital for epileptics and the mentally ill). « Herr Pastor », they said, « the Fueher has decided that all these people must be gassed. » Dr. Von Bodelschwingh, the administrator, looked at them calmly. « You can put me into a concentration camp, if you want; that is your affair.
But as long as I am free, you do not touch one of my patients. I cannot change to fit the times or the wishes of the Fuehrer. I stand under orders from our Lord Jesus Christ. »
Application:
Can you remember a time when, out of love, you chose to stand up for the right thing? Today, pray for the love that casts our all fear, and for the courage of faith.

Lovely daughter of the Most High, My people are praying and I hear them. They pray for an end to abortion and My children to know My Son. I hear them. Every one of My remnant are ready for Me to take evil out of the land. My children, the messages coming forth are for the sinners and lost now and those on the fence; not for their God or against Me. Do not stop praying My children.
Take heed in everything your Father says and keep them in your heart. You never will be afraid when you understand My words in the messages and the Sacred Word given to My Apostles. The prophets were then and they are now and greater works shall be done. In all shrines, holy prayer groups and masses; The I Am, The I Am is coming forth to be present and all the host of angels and saints to bless each one. Be intimate with your Father; your prayers are My heart towards you and My love for you forever. It is time for miracles upon miracles.
