Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary Protectress of Africa

Holy Mary, Mother of God, Protectress of Africa, you have given to the world the true Light, Jesus Christ. Through your obedience to the Father and the grace of the Holy Spirit, you have given us the source of our reconciliation and our justice, Jesus Christ, our peace and our joy.

Mother of Tenderness and Wisdom, show us Jesus, your Son and the Son of God. Guide our path of conversion, so that Jesus might shine his glory on us in every aspect of our personal, familial and social lives.

Mother, full of Mercy and Justice, through your docility to the Spirit, the Counselor, obtain for us the grace to be witnesses of the Risen Lord, so that we will increasingly become the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Mother of Perpetual Help, we entrust to your maternal intercession the preparation and fruits of the Second Special Assembly for Africa. Queen of Peace, pray for us! Our Lady of Africa, pray for us!

"Come and show your love to the Father"
Dear Friends,

Herod’s Death

Herod had long been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon, who now came to him in a body. After winning over Blastus, the king’s chamberlain, they sued for peace because their country was supplied with food from the king’s territory. On an appointed day, Herod, attired in royal robes, and seated on the rostrum, addressed them publicly. The assembled crowd cried out, This is the voice of a god, not of a man. At once the angel of the Lord struck him down because he did not ascribe the honor to God, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last. But the word of God continued to spread and grow. Acts 12:20-24

Here is a message from Our Lord and Savior addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words,

Every action will have consequences for eternity. If one commits bad actions and does not repent, he or she will suffer in the next world. Take King Herod for example. When the people of Tyre and Sidon said to him that his voice was the voice of a god and not of man, he agreed with this in his pride instead of ascribing this honor to God. Because of his pride, he was struck down and died and was eaten by worms.

This shows, My brothers and sisters, that you must be humble and not think of yourselves as gods for you are human beings created by God. Remember there is only one God, the Creator of all that exist. He has all power and holds everything in existence. He will never have an end and He never had a beginning. All human beings have as a duty to acknowledge Him and to worship Him.

He loves every person but He hates sin. Repent of all your sins and you will be His friend. The Father sent Me into the world to live as a human being in order to suffer and die for you for your salvation. Come and show your love to the Father and thank Him for all He has done for you.

Father Melvin

"Spend time with Me in prayer every day"
Dear Friends,

Mockery of the Soldiers

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus inside the praetorium and gathered the whole cohort around him. They stripped off his clothes and threw a scarlet military cloak about him. Weaving a crown out of thorns, they placed it on his head, and a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews! They spat upon him and took the reed and kept striking him on the head. And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the cloak, dressed him in his own clothes, and led him off to crucify him. Matthew 27:27-31

Here is a message given by Our Lord to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words,

It was on Friday that I suffered My Passion. As the reading shows, the Roman soldiers mocked Me and they struck Me on the head with a reed. They called Me the King of the Jews and these words were put on the cross above My head. Indeed I am the King of the whole universe and all are called to My Kingdom.

The scourging and the crowning with thorns brought Me great suffering. At the end I was covered in blood from My head to My feet. My flesh was hanging in pieces all over My body and the blood flowed over My face because of the crown of thorns driven into My head. I suffered all this horrible pain for each one of you because I love you and I wanted to pay the price for your sins. Through My passion and death, I was able to open heaven for all those who would follow Me in the future.

Come, My dear brothers and sisters, and look at the crucifix today and see that I died for you. I love you and I want you with Me today and every day. Repent of all your sins and spend time with Me in prayer every day. Come to church to the Eucharistic Celebration and receive Me in Holy Communion. We will then be united in faith and love.

Father Melvin

MESSAGE FROM HEAVEN
SHARON FITZPATRICK - LOCUTIONIST

WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2009

MY DEAR DEAR PRECIOUS LITTLE CHILDREN,

IT IS A NIGHT OF DEEP PRAYER FOR YOU HAVE COME TO THIS PLACE TO PRAY WITH THE MOTHER OF GOD. I DRAW YOU ALL TO ME MAKING EACH PRAYER FRAGRANT AND PRESENTING EACH ONE TO THE FATHER. I TELL YOU MY LOVES, HE DOES NOT HESITATE TO TAKE THEM TO HIMSELF AND HE HOLDS THEM - ALL OF THEM.

YOUR PRAYERS TAKE ON MY FRAGRANCE, BUT THEY COME FROM YOUR HEARTS, THUS THEY ARE ALREADY PLEASING TO HIM. SO MANY DO NOT PRAY. SO MANY DO NOT KNOW THE POWER OF PRAYER - AND SO IT IS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN ASKED TO GIVE SO MUCH, FOR SO MANY.

IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT YOU ARE TIRED AND MANY TIMES YOU MUST GIVE EXTRA EFFORT TO COMPLY. BUT I SAY TO YOU, DO NOT GROW WEARY. REMEMBER THE POWER OF PRAYER. HOLD FAST TO THIS TRUTH AND RECALL IT OFTEN.

LITTLE ONES, YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN MUCH. SO MUCH THAT YOU CANNOT EVEN RECALL ALL THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED. BE GRATEFUL, BE GRATEFUL. YOUR GIFTS AND BLESSINGS CONTINUE, EVEN AS WE SPEAK. YOU HAVE MY PROMISE, YOU HAVE GOD.

IN THE DAYS AHEAD, I CAUTION YOU TO BE ALERT. THOSE WHO ARE THE LEADERS IN THE WORLD ARE GREATLY CONFUSED AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS NEEDED. THEY DO NOT SEE THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE, BUT PROFESS LOVE AND CONCERN FOR ALL. BE AWAKE TO THEIR DECEITFUL WAYS.

THEY WILL DECEIVE THEMSELVES AND FIND THEMSELVES VULNERABLE AND WEAK BEFORE GOD AND MAN. TRUST THAT WHAT IS TO TRANSPIRE IS OF GOD AND THEN WATCH - BE ALERT. RECOGNIZE GOD?S HAND AND BE GLAD.

I GIVE TO EACH OF YOU MY KISS, MY BLESSING. THE BLESSING OF CHRIST FALLS UPON YOU. GIVE PRAISE AND GRATITUDE - NOW AND FOREVER.

Message For America, from The Father to O. Ann S. Hoernschemeyer, 7-9-09, 8:20 a.m.

The land will be healed of all evil that is already here and evil in process of being imposed on My remnant. Sons and daughters stand up for your Jesus and let your voices be heard. This is the time.

The one- world people that believe they can take over have many surprises coming. Tell My children; open their spiritual ears and see with their spiritual eyes what I Am, The I Am is doing. You are My vessels; you are all I have, precious children of the Most High.

Take your places in battle now. Do this for your Jesus and Yes, your reward in My Glory awaits you. Receive My fire for your Holy Boldness that is upon the earth now with miracles upon miracles.
Your Father who loves you forever

Medjugorje Day By Day July 10 - JESUS GIVES HIMSELF AT THE MASS

O Saving Victim, opening wide

The gate of Heaven to man below;

Our foes press on from every side;

Thine aid supply, Thy strength bestow.

To Thy great Name be endless praise,

Immortal Godhead, One in Three.

Oh, grant us endless length of days

In our true native land with Thee. Amen.

(English version of "O Salutaris Hostia")

Mother Teresa -
The Blame Game!

"The self-indulgent always find fault with others. The blame has to be placed somewhere: the boss, the nagging wife, the teachers, the politicians or the nasty man at the next desk. The sense of justice is so rooted in the human heart that responsibility must be laid on some shoulders; if not on self, where it belongs, then on another, where it does not. The self-pity awakens a sorrow which leads to despair and remorse."

Meditations by Padre Pio -
Even when reprimanded one must be courteous and gentle (GB 34).

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
The difference between the penitent and proud"Take the other case of those who suffer unjustly but with faith and love of God in their hearts. They may have a sadness in their hearts from pain and torture, but never remorse. They end in penitence or a making up for guilt by bearing patiently the trials of others. This is illustrated in the case of Judas and Peter. There is much similarity between the two, up to a point. Our Lord warned both of them that they would fail; He even told them that each would be a devil."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -

January 10, 1937. I asked the Lord today to give me strength in the morning so that I could go to receive Holy Communion. My Master, I ask You with all my thirsting heart to give me, if this is according to Your holy will, any suffering and weakness that You like-I want to suffer all day and all night-but please, I fervently beg You, strengthen me for the one moment when I am to receive Holy Communion. You see very well, Jesus, that here they do not bring Holy Communion to the sick; so, if You do not strengthen me for that moment so that I can go down to the chapel, how can I receive You in the Mystery of Love? And You know how much my heart longs for You. O my sweet Spouse, what's the good of all these reasonings? You know how ardently I desire You, and if You so choose You can do this for me.

On the following morning, I felt as if I were perfectly well; the faintings and the weaknesses ceased. But as soon as I returned from the chapel, all the sufferings and weaknesses immediately returned, as if they had been waiting for me. But I had no fear of them at all, because I had been nourished by the Bread of the Strong. I boldly look at everything; even death itself I look straight in the eye. (876)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

July 10 - JESUS GIVES HIMSELF AT THE MASS

Speaking of the Mass, the Blessed virgin said to Jelena, My children, I wish that the holy Mass would be the day's gift to you. Attend it, wish for it to begin. Jesus gives himself to you at the Mass. Therefore, look forward to that moment, for than you are cleansed. Pray a great deal that the Holy Spirit will renew your parish, for if people attend Mass with lukewarmness, they will return to their homes cold, with an empty heart. (LJM 3-30-84)

St. Mark offers us this account of Jesus' institution of the Eucharist:

While they were eating, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, "Take; this is my body."

Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, and
all of them drank from it. He said to them, "This is my blood of the
covenant, which is poured out for many." (Mk 14:22-24

Reflection:

The Mass is by far the most precious gift of God to his people, for it is the gift of himself. St. Augustine wrote that, "Although God is all powerful, he is unable to give more; though supremely wise, he knows not how to give more; though vastly rich, he has no more to give."

St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the great theologians of the church wrote that, "The celebration of holy Mass is as valuable as the death of Jesus on the cross."

Padre Pio, the contemplative friar who carried the wounds of Christ, made the remarkable statement that, "It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do so without the holy Mass."

And last, from Pope Pius X, who allowed children to receive communion:
"If angels could envy, they would envy us holy communion."

Application:

Today, reflect prayerfully on these lines from St. Anthony Claret:

When we go to holy communion, all of us receive the same Lord Jesus, but not all receive the same grace...Our differences in disposition are the reason. When a branch is grafted on a tree, the more similar the branch is to the tree, the better the graft will succeed. Likewise, the more the one going to holy communion resembles Jesus, the better will the fruits of holy communion be.

Medjugorje Day By Day July 11 - ST. BENEDICT, ABBOT

November 25, 1987

"Dear children! Today also I call each one of you to decide to surrender again everything completely to me. Only that way will I be able to present each of you to God. Dear children, you know that I love you immeasurably and that I desire each of you for myself, but God has given to all a freedom which I lovingly respect and humbly submit to.

I desire, dear children, that you help so that everything God has planned in this parish shall be realized. If you do not pray, you shall not be able to recognize my love and the plans which God has for this parish and for each individual. Pray that Satan does not entice you with his pride and deceptive strength. I am with you and I want you to believe me, that I love you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

"Make use of devotion to the Blessed Sacrament as a means of persevering in the practice of virtue. Let us go to Him toward evening and tell Him about our shortcomings, let us ask Him for help and forgiveness. Our Lord loves us, He thinks of us constantly, and His glance follows us every moment of the day"
(Rafael Cardinal Merry del Val, Servant of God).

Mother Teresa -
Whatever you do, even if you help somebody cross the road, you do it to Jesus.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
To lack charity is to wound the pupil of God's eye. What is more delicate than the pupil of the eye? To lack charity is like sinning against nature (AdFP 555).

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
The difference between Pity and Penitence

"Both Peter and Judas did deny the Master and both repented or were sorry. But the Greek word used in the Scripture is not the same in both instances. Judas repented unto himself - he had self-pity. Peter repented unto the Lord - he had penitence, sorrow and a desire for amendment. Peter cleaned the weeds out of the garden, but Judas killed the nocturnal brood of remorseful serpents in his breast by hanging himself."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
O Lord, I feel your grace and Your peace filling my poor soul. I feel overwhelmed by Your mercy, O Lord. You forgive me, which is more than I dared to hope for or could imagine. Your goodness surpasses all my desires. And now, filled with gratitude for so many graces. I invite You to my heart. I wandered, like a prodigal child gone astray; but you did not cease to be my Father. Increase Your mercy toward me, for You see how weak I am.

Jesus: Child, speak no more of your misery; it is already forgotten. Listen, My child, to what I desire to tell you. Come close to My wounds and draw from the Fountain of Life whatever your heart desires. Drink copiously from the Fountain of Life and you will not weary on your journey. Look at the splendors of My mercy and do not fear the enemies of your salvation. Glorify My mercy. (1485b)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.
July 11 - ST. BENEDICT, ABBOT

The Blessed Mother gave Jelena this explanation after she saw a beautiful pearl divide itself. Each half sparkled and then faded away:

Jelena, everyone's heart is like this lovely pearl. When one belongs completely to the Lord, one shines even in the darkness. But when one is divided—a little to Satan, a little to sin, a little to everything— one's heart fades away and becomes worthless. (LJM 6-15-85)

And from the book of Revelation:

I know your works; you are neither hot nor cold. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold not hot, I will spit you out of my mouth. (Rv 3:15-16)

Reflection:

St. Benedict, the father of Western monasticism, was known for his steadfast loyalty and love of the Lord, and he carefully inculcated these virtues in his friars. Born in 480 and educated in Rome, he began the monastic life at Subiaco where he gathered disciples, and then departed for Monte Cassino. There he established the famous monastery and composed the Benedictine Rule, which spread throughout Europe.

His undivided faith, which Our Lady calls us to today, can be easily discerned in his writing. From the Rule of St. Benedict:

What could be more delightful, dearest brothers, than the voice of Our Lord's invitation to us? In his loving kindness he reveals to us the way of life. And so, girded with faith and the performance of good works, let us follow in his paths by the guidance of the gospel; then we shall deserve to see him who has called us unto his kingdom. If we wish to attain a dwelling-place in his kingdom we shall not reach it unless we hasten there by our good deeds.

Application:

Today, pray for an undivided heart that expresses itself in good deeds for others.

SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."

Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.

Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails). Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
