17 OCT. AFRICAN DIASPORA CHRISTIANS’ WARNING PROPHECY MEDITATIONS FOR BLACK CATHOLICS, COPTICS, AND ORTHODOX LITURGICAL CHURCHES IN THE MYSTICAL BODY OF CHRIST

African Black Saints, Black Catholics, Coptic, and Orthodox Christians’ Spirituality in Africa, the Caribbean, Oceania, South Pacific Rim, Micronesia, Polynesia, Melanesia, New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Palau, Tuvulu, Nauru, Vanuatu, Australia, New Zealand and Islands of the Solomons, Marianas, Society, Marshall, and all the New Hebrides.

WARNING PROPHECY MEDITATIONS FOR ORIENTAL BRANCHES OF BLACK CATHOLIC CHRISTIANS--LATIN, COPTIC, AND ORTHODOX RITES IN THE AFRICAN HISTORIC AND GEOLOGIC DIASPORA.

For the coming plagues and illnesses:

FOR THE LITURGICAL CHURCH MEMBERS ONLY (AND OTHERS WHO BELIEVE. TEST! DISCERN THE SPIRIT! )

From Jo Ann Riggio, RN I Extend the Baptism of Truth to you. Please accept it and pass it on.

Dear friends and family,

I extend the Baptism of Truth to you with all of my heart and love. Please accept it. Let me expain:

Sept 14-16, 09 I went on a pilgrimage to Holy Love, Maranantha Springs in Elyria Ohio. I have been there many times before. (www.holylove.org) It is an Ecumenical apparition site where Our Lady appears to a visionary as well as Jesus and some of the saints.

During the apparition, Our Lady invited those present to accept the Baptism of Truth, which I did as I was present on the United Hearts Field at the time. An angel was given to those who accepted this Baptism of Truth to guard the Truth in their hearts. Therefore, I believe I received one.

The other day , I received messages from Holy Love regarding the Baptism of Truth via their website. There are two messages for September 18, 2009. (www.holylove.org). In the first message, Our Lady says, "Those who were here present can now extend this Baptism of Truth to others simply by desiring to do so in their own heart. It can be multiplied and proliferated by all who recieve it." .......

The second message is from Jesus, He says , " ....I want to help you understand that the Baptism of Truth which you received in the field of the United Hearts on the Feast of My Mother's Sorrows, can change the heart of the world if proliferated with zeal. Do so then with Holy Love in your hearts."....
So my dear friends and family, I , with love in my heart and all the zeal within me extend this Baptism of Truth to you. Please accept it and pass it on to those you know and love and ask them to do the same. Together, with Jesus and Mary, let us all change the heart of the world! AMEN!

With all my love,

Jo Ann Riggio, RN

PS: Please go to the website (www.holylove.org) for the complete messages of September 18, 2009. May you be blessed abundantly.

Blessed Mother says: "Praise be to Jesus."

"In this country, truth has become so compromised that people do not know truth from fiction. That is why I extended to everyone the Baptism of Truth on My Feast of Sorrows. Those who were here present* can now extend this Baptism of Truth to others by simply desiring to do so in their own heart. It can be multiplied and proliferated by all who receive it. The angels given to My children in the Field of the United Hearts on the night of the apparition will not be multiplied with each Baptism of Truth, but will continually guard the truth in the hearts of those who had received angels at the apparition that night."

"You will make this known."

* Blessed Mother is referring to those pilgrims present in the United Hearts Field at the time of Her apparition.

METAPHYSICAL PROPOSAL ON THE MODE OF USING HAWTHORN

FOR THE COMING PLAGUES…HAWTHORN

(QUESTION FOR DISCERNMENT- Is this swine flu ? H1n1? Sars? Bird flu? You do the prayerful research!)

As given by our BLESSED MOTHER MARYAM, August 5, 1880:
"There will be a grave illness which human science will not be able to
alleviate. This illness will attack firstly the heart, then the spirit, and at
the same time, the tongue. It will be horrible.

The heat accompanying it will be a devouring fire insupportable and so intense that the members of the body affected will be red -- an unendurable fiery red. At the end of seven days this
disease, sown like a seed in the field (incubation period) will spread
everywhere rapidly and make great progress."

"My children, here is the ONLY remedy which could save you. You are familiar with the Hawthorn which grows practically in all hedges.

The leaves of the Hawthorn, not the wood, can arrest the progress of this disease."

"You will gather the leaves, not the wood. Even dry, they will keep their efficacy.

You will put them into boiling water and leave them there for 14 minutes, covering the receptacle so that the steam remains therein.

At the onset of this disease, one must use this remedy three times a day."

"This disease will produce a continual vomiting and nausea. If the remedy is taken too late, the part of the body affected will become black and in the black there will be seen a sort of pale, yellow streak."

NO ONE HAS TO BELIEVE ANYTHING! TEST. DISCERN THE SPIRIT!

A SLIGHT CHANGE FOR CHILDREN- 8 MINUTES)

Note: It is a tradition that the Hawthorn was the plant from which Pilate’s Roman soldiers wove the CROWN OF THORNS.

Daily Consecration to the Eternal Father

For the greater glory of God and for the salvation of all, I consecrate myself to You, O' Eternal Father, as one of Your faithful remnant. Behold, I come to do Your Will. With the help of Your Grace, I will keep Your Commandments. I will love and reverence You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. I will love my neighbor as You love me.

I make this Consecration through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Your beloved Son, Jesus.

O' Eternal Father, send forth Your Holy Spirit to restore my/our broken image and likeness of You. Send forth also Your entire Heavenly Court, all the celestial choirs of Your angels and all Your Saints, to aid me/us in my/our struggle against all the forces of evil in this present darkness. Amen. (Adapted from the Father of All Mankind Apostolate).

The Lord's Prayer

How many of us have said the “Our Father” with so little thought, so little reverence, and so little fruitfulness? However, when we are open to the Holy Spirit within us and pray from the heart, look at what can happen:"

Our Father, (“Our” Father—not “My” Father - all of God’s children of all races, all colors & all creeds)

Our Father, (Abba, “Daddy” God)

Who art in Heaven, (and Who art in me)

Hallowed be Thy Name. (Holy be Thy Name, praised be Thy Name, thanks be to Thy Most Holy Name)

Thy Kingdom come. (now - on earth and in me)

Thy Will be done, (now - on earth and in me)

on earth as it is in Heaven. (at the Throne of God, with the Trinity, Our Lady and all the Angels and Saints)

Give us this day our daily bread. (the Bread of your Divine Will, the Bread of Life in the Eucharist, and the bread we need to eat to sustain our bodies)

And forgive us our trespasses(forgive us our sins, our imperfections and our hesitancies in the face of temptation)

As we forgive those (or as we choose not to forgive those) who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,(for we are weak, we are worthless, we are wretched & we are nothing)

But deliver us from evil.(for it is only through your grace, not by our works alonenor our merit that we can escape eternal damnation)

Amen. (So I hope. So be it).

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary Protectress of Africa

Holy Mary, Mother of God, Protectress of Africa, you have given to the world the true Light, Jesus Christ. Through your obedience to the Father and the grace of the Holy Spirit, you have given us the source of our reconciliation and our justice, Jesus Christ, our peace and our joy.

Mother of Tenderness and Wisdom, show us Jesus, your Son and the Son of God. Guide our path of conversion, so that Jesus might shine his glory on us in every aspect of our personal, familial and social lives.

Mother, full of Mercy and Justice, through your docility to the Spirit, the Counselor, obtain for us the grace to be witnesses of the Risen Lord, so that we will increasingly become the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Mother of Perpetual Help, we entrust to your maternal intercession the preparation and fruits of the Second Special Assembly for Africa. Queen of Peace, pray for us! Our Lady of Africa, pray for us!

Medjugorje Day By Day Oct 17 - THE SECRETS

"Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and devotion to the Holy Rosary . . . [are] the unparalleled solution to 'fight' Satan, renew our faith, convert sinners, save souls, and bring peace into our lives and into the world" (The Eucharist and The Rosary: The Power to Change the World).

"Exposition [of the Holy Eucharist] is the great need of our times" (St. Peter Julian Eymard).

Mother Teresa -
Let none glory in his success but refer all to God in deepest thankfulness; on the other hand, no failure should dishearten him as long as he has done his best.

Meditations by Padre Pio - As regards to the spiritual trials to which the paternal goodness of the Heavenly Father is subjecting you, I beg you to be resigned and if possible tranquil on the assurances of he who takes the place of God, and who speaks to you in His name; who loves you in Him and who desires every blessing for you. You are suffering it is true, but with resignation. You are suffering, but do not fear, because God is with you and you don't offend Him, but you love Him. You are suffering, but believe, also, that Jesus is suffering within you, with you, for you.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Wars stem from the neglect of morality!

" War is not necessary, but it does become an inseparable ailment of any world that abandons the supremacy of the spirit. Nietzche, after proclaiming the death of God in the nineteenth century, prophesied that the twentieth century would be a century of wars. There is a possible connection between the importance given to politics and the frequency of wars.

In any era of history where politics is the major interest, war is the major consequence. This does not mean that one ought to subscribe to the dictum of Karl von Clausewitz that war is the prosecution of politics by other means.

It does mean however, that since politics stresses expediency and pragmatism on a great scale that dedication to truth and morality are minimized. Since the latter are essential for peace, war becomes a greater possibility. "

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
I will enclose myself in the chalice of Jesus so that I may comfort Him continually. I will do everything within my power to save souls, and I will do it through prayer and suffering.

I try always to be a Bethany for Jesus, so that He may rest here after all His labors. In Holy Communion, my union with Jesus is so intimate and incomprehensible that even if I wanted to describe it in writing I could not do so, because I lack the words. (735)

During Mass today, I saw the Lord Jesus, who said to me, Be at peace, My daughter; I see your efforts, which are very pleasing to Me. And the Lord disappeared, and it was time for Holy Communion. After I received Holy Communion, I suddenly saw the Cenacle and in it Jesus and the Apostles.

I saw the institution of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Jesus allowed me to penetrate His interior, and I came to know the greatness of His majesty and, at the same time, His great humbling of Himself. The extraordinary light that allowed me to see His majesty revealed to me, at the same time, what was in my own soul. (757)

Dailys - http://www.catholic-forum.com/e-pistle.html -
Quote of the Day I great you from Smyrna together with the Churches of God present here with me. They comfort me in every way, both in body and soul. My chains, which I carry about on me for Jesus Christ, begging that I may happily make my way to God, exhort you: persevere in you concord and in you community prayers. -St. Ignatius of Antioch

Today's Tidbit St. Ignatius was the first to use the term "Catholic Church" as a collective name for Christians.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

Oct 17 - THE SECRETS

During one apparition , Our Lady showed Mirjana the first secret, and saw the earth desolate. The Virgin said :

It is the upheaval of a region of the world. In the world there is so much sin. What can I do, if you do not help me?

Remember that I love you. God does not have a hard heart. But look around you and see what men do, for then you will no longer say that God's heart is hard, How many people come to church , to the house of God, with respect, strong faith, and a love for God? Very few! Now you have a time of grace and conversion. It is necessary to use it well (Special Message October 25, 1985).

And from Luke's gospel, Christ says :

There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and the earth distress among nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will faint form fear and foreboding of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory, Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near (Lk 21 :25-28).

Reflection :

There are so many things we want to do, but we keep putting them. Off. But there is one thing we must not put off preparation for the Lord's final coming. For some it will be a time of " fear and foreboding, » yet others are to " strand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is at hand. » It all depends on one's spiritual preparedness.

The chastisements spoken of In the Medjugorje secrets are not planned punishments from an angry God, but the final consequences of sin and evil in the world. Like a defective boiler building up with steam, it will eventually blow. Spiritual laws cannot be continuously violated any more than the laws of nature. It is the love and mercy of God that has sent the Blessed Virgin into the world to release the building pressure of sin.

But, as she has said many times, she cannot do it alone. She must have our prayers and sacrifices. "What can I do, » she says today, " if you do not help me?"

Application :

Today, review the priorities of your life. In what place have you put spirituality and prayer?

Mary, present on Calvary by the cross, is equally present with the Church and as Mother of the Church, in each of our Eucharistic celebrations (see "Ecclesia de Eucharistia," No. 57). Because of this, no one better than she can teach us to understand and live with faith the holy Mass, uniting us to Christ's redeeming sacrifice. When we receive holy Communion we also, as Mary and united to her, embrace the wood, which Jesus with his love has transformed into instrument of salvation, and pronounce our 'Amen,' our 'yes' to crucified and risen Love"
(Pope Benedict, Sept. 11, 2005).

"I know a person with serious illnesses, who often experiences great pain, who through this Bread [of the Eucharist] had them taken away as though by a gesture of the hand and was made completely well. This is a common experience" (St. Teresa of Avila).

Mother Teresa -
What have we got that we have not received? " asks St. Paul.
If I have received everything, what good have I of my own? If we are convinced of this we will never raise our head in pride.
If you are humble, nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
Remember that I am the enemy of useless desires, no less than I am of dangerous and bad desires. Because even though one's desires are good, nevertheless, the desire is always defective in our regard, especially when it is combined with excessive haste. Because God does not expect this sort of good, but He wants us to practise another.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Morality and Decency Foster Peace

" The more morality and decency and virtue there are in the world, the more peace there will be in the world. Wars are consequences of a moral rebellion. The Scriptures boldly affirm that war is the result of egotism and selfishness. When civilization is made up of millions of men and women who are at war with themselves, it is not long until communities, classes, states and nations will be at war with one another. Every world war is a turbulent ocean made up of the confluent streams of millions of little wars inside the minds and hearts of unhappy people. War is the final logic of self-will."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -

At eleven o'clock Jesus said to me, My host, you are refreshment for My tormented Heart. I thought, after these words, that my heart would burn up. And He brought me into such close intimacy with Himself that my heart was espoused to His Heart in a loving union, and I could feel the faintest stir of His Heart and He, of mine. The fire of my created love was joined to the ardor of His eternal love.

his one grace surpasses all others in its immensity. His Trinitarian Being enveloped me entirely, and I am totally immersed in Him. My littleness is, as it were, wrestling with this Immortal Mighty One. I am immersed in incomprehensible love and incomprehensible torture because of His Passion. All that concerns His Being is imparted to me also. (1056)

Up to now, Jesus has been bringing me to know about, and to have a presentiment of, this grace, but today He granted it to me. I would not even dare to dream about it. My heart is in ceaseless ecstasy, as it were, although outwardly nothing disturbs my contacts with my neighbor or my attending to various matters. Nothing is capable of interrupting my ecstasy, nor can anyone suspect it, because I have asked God to protect me from detection by people. And, together with this grace, there entered my soul a whole ocean of light, enabling me to understand God and myself. Amazement overwhelms me entirely and leads me as if into a new ecstasy [aroused by the fact] that God has deigned to descend to me, who am so little. (1057)

Dailys - http://www.catholic-forum.com/e-pistle.html -
Quote of the Day Behold this Heart which has so loved men that it has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming itself, in order to testify its love. In return, I receive from the greater part only ingratitude, by their irreverence and sacrileges, and by the coldness and contempt they have for me in this Sacrament of love...

I come into the heart I have given you in order that through your fervor you may atone for the offenses which I have received from lukewarm and slothful hearts that dishonor me in the Blessed Sacrament. -Third apparition of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Today's Tidbit During Margaret Mary's life Jansenism was a heresy causing serious problems in several countries, especially France. This heresy believed that human nature was radically and intrinsically corrupted by original sin and that those who will gain the rewards of eternal life are only those who are predestined for that reward. Jansenism advocated an extremely rigorous moral code. The Church condemned Jansenism because of its views concerning Original Sin and predestination. Many scholars believe that the devotion to the Sacred Heart advocated by St. Margaret Mary was one of the contributing factors to the end of Jansenism.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

Oct 16 - ST. MARGARET MARY ALACOQUE
The following was given to Jelena, the locutionist :

I wish that all families consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart each day, for I am very happy when the whole family comes together to pray. In the morning, pray for half an hour (Locutionists Jelena & Mirijana Oct 20, 1983).

The Sacred Heart is the powerful symbol of Christ's love for us. He asks us to extend that love to others:

"I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another" (Jn13;34).

Reflection:

St. Margaret Mary was born in France in 1647. She joined the Sisters of the Visitation and was later graced with mystical revelations from Christ, who charged her with spreading devotion to his Sacred Heart. Our Lady has referred to this devotion a number of times in Medjugorje, as we see in today's message.

Application:

You may wish to place an image of the Sacred Heart in your home, as well as offer a prayer to the Heart of Jesus each day. One short prayer that was written by Sr. Margaret herself : O Heart of love, I put all my trust in you ; for I fear all things from my own weakness, but I hope for all things from your goodness

Medjugorje Day By Day Oct 15 - ST. TERESA OF AVILA

"The prayer of the Rosary, or five decades of it, after the Sacred Liturgy of the Eucharist, is what most unites us to God by the richness of the prayers that compose it . . . we see that it is indeed a Trinitarian and a Eucharistic prayer, even more than a Marian one. I do not know if we can find prayers more sublime or more appropriate to recite before the Blessed Sacrament." (Sr. Lucia of Fatima)

"Souls . . . leave me alone by night, alone by day, in the churches. They no longer care about the Sacrament of the Altar. Hardly anyone ever speaks of this Sacrament of Love. Even those who do speak, alas, do so with great indifference and coldness. My heart is forgotten" (Words of Jesus to St. Padre Pio).

Mother Teresa -
It is necessary that the Word live in you, that you understand the Word, that you live the Word.
You will not be able to live that Word unless you give it to others.

Meditations by Padre Pio - You must not behave violently unless you wish to risk gaining nothing. You must have great Christian prudence.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Eliminate sin and there'll be no need for suffering

"There are two great evils in the world: sin and suffering. Sin is mortal, suffering is physical, and the latter is a result of the former. What happens to the body as pain, and to nature in the form of cyclones, earthquakes and floods, is ultimately an echo, a repercussion and effect of what has already happened in the moral universe. When the big wheel in a machine is cracked, all the little wheels get out of order. As we eliminate sin, we eliminate suffering; as we love God, we cease to hate others. And thus we engage in fewer wars."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -

Oh, what joy it is to empty myself for the sake of immortal souls! I know that the grain of wheat must be destroyed and ground between millstones in order to become food. In the same way, I must become destroyed in order to be useful to the Church and souls, even though exteriorly no one will notice my sacrifice. O Jesus, outwardly I want to be hidden, just like this little wafer wherein the eye perceives nothing, and yet I am a host

consecrated to You. (641)

Holy Hour.-Thursday. During this hour of prayer, Jesus allowed me to enter the Cenacle, and I was a witness to what happened there. However, I was most deeply moved when, before the Consecration, Jesus raised His eyes to heaven and entered into a mysterious conversation with His Father. It is only in eternity that we shall really understand that moment.

His eyes were like two flames; His face was radiant, white as snow; His whole personage full of majesty, His soul full of longing. At the moment of Consecration, love rested satiated-the sacrifice fully consummated. Now only the external ceremony of death will be carried out-external destruction; the essence [of it] is in the Cenacle. Never in my whole life had I understood this mystery so profoundly as during that hour of adoration. Oh, how ardently I desire that the whole world would come to know this unfathomable mystery! Quote of the Day Unless you strive after virtues and practice them, you will never grow to be more than dwarfs. -St. Theresa of Avila
Today's Tidbit Transverberation is a word that means piercing. The transverberation of Teresa is described in the twenty-ninth chapter of her autobiography.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

The following was given to Ivan for the prayer group and pilgrims :

Dear children, tonight your mother wants to encourage you to start praying with the heart. This prayer is essential to people living in today's world. And so do not pray just with your lips or without knowing what you pray.

Dear children, I also need your prayers during this time to accomplish the great plans I have. I wish us to work together. I have repeated that many times inn my messages. I need you. And so pray, pray with the heart! (Visionary Prayer Group Oct 31, 1988).

It was heartfelt prayer that sustained the early church in the power of the Holy Spirit. From the Acts of the Apostles :

When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness (Acts 4 :31).

Reflection:

One of the greatest masters of prayer in the Catholic church was St. Teresa of Avila. Her classic writings The Way of Perfection, Foundations, and The Interior Castle continue to be studied even today.

Born in Avila, Spain, on March 28, 1515, Teresa was one of the most down to earth mystics that the church has ever known. She was described as " intelligent, hardheaded, charming, and deeply spiritual." Another described her as "talented, outgoing, affectionate, courageous…totally human. She is wise, yet practical; intelligent, yet much in tune with here experience; mystical, yet an energetic reformer."

Other than her writings, St. Teresa is best known for the reforms she initiated in the Carmelite Order. In 1562 she founded her first convent of Discalced (reformed Carmelites, established for nuns who wished a more cloistered and contemplative observance rather than the relaxed discipline of her time. She went on to found 16 more, traveling throughout Spain.

She once wrote :

Christ has no body now on earth, but yours,

No hands but yours, No feet but yours.

Yours are the eyes through which the

compassion of Christ must look on the world.

Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good.

Yours are the hands with which he is to bless his people.

Application:
"Your mother want to encourage you," the Virgin says today, "to start to praying with the heart. This prayer is essential to people living in today's world."

Today, as both Our Lady and St. Teresa advise, pray with special meaning and concentration.

Medjugorje Day By Day Oct 14 - DO NOT GIVE UP ON MEDITATION

Ann. Our Lady's Apparition at Fatima & the Miracle of the Sun (1917)-Oct. 13
"Let us listen to Mary Most Holy, in whom the mystery of the Eucharist appears, more than in anyone else, as a mystery of light. Gazing upon Mary, we come to know the transforming power present in the Eucharist" (Pope John Paul II, Ecclesia de Eucharistia, 62).

Our Lady of the Rosary—Oct. 7
"The prayer of the Rosary, or five decades of it, after the Sacred Liturgy of the Eucharist, is what most unites us to God by the richness of the prayers . . . we see that it is indeed a Trinitarian and a Eucharistic prayer, even more than a Marian one. I do not know if we can find prayers more sublime or more appropriate to recite before the Blessed Sacrament" (Sr. Lucia of Fatima).

Mother Teresa -
We stand before the world as ambassadors
of peace by preaching the message of love
in action that crosses all barriers of
nationality, creed, or country.

Padre Pio - Those souls who throw themselves into the whirlpool of worldly occupations are poor and unfortunate. The more they love the world, the more their passions multiply; the more their desires are lit, the more they find themselves incapable of carrying out their projects, and thus they are uneasy, impatient, affected by that shock that breaks their hearts; those hearts which do not beat with charity and holy love. Let us pray for these unfortunate and miserable souls, that Jesus may forgive them and draw them to Himself in His infinite mercy.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Virtue is the key to Truth

"Notice how often today men in public life accuse one another of `lying.' Why is it they never speak of truth? May it not be that they studied in the same school as Pilate and asked `What is Truth?' (John 18: 38) and then turn their backs on it. It takes a heap of virtuous living for any one of us to discover Truth. "

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -Midnight Mass. During Holy Mass, I again saw the little Infant Jesus, extremely beautiful, joyfully stretching out His little arms to me. After Holy Communion, I heard the words: I am always in your heart; not only when you receive Me in Holy Communion, but always. I spent these holy days in great joy. (575)

One time, I was in doubt as to whether what had happened to me had seriously offended the Lord Jesus or not. As I could not solve this doubt, I made up my mind not to go to Communion before first going to confession, although I immediately made an act of contrition, as it is my habit to ask for forgiveness after the slightest transgression. During those days when I did not receive Holy Communion, I did not feel the presence of God. This caused me unspeakable pain, but I took it as a punishment for sin.

However, at the time of Holy Confession I was reproached for not going to Holy Communion, because what had happened to me was not an obstacle to receiving Holy Communion. After confession, I received Holy Communion, and I saw the Lord Jesus who said to me, Know, My daughter, that you caused Me more sorrow by not uniting yourself with Me in Holy Communion than you did by that small transgression. Quote of the Day Humility is the key which opens all the treasures of God. -St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier

Today's Tidbit A martyrology is a work that lists all the canonized saints, their feast days, and a small biography of each saint. Martyrologies may exist for a local district or exist for the general use of the faithful. One of the most exhaustive martyrologies is the Roman Martyrology, which is set up to list all the saints of the Roman Catholic Church, not just one district.

Martyrologies began as accounts of the martyrs for the Faith but began to be expanded as the Church began to officially recognize the saintliness of people who did not die through martyrdom.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

Oct 14 - DO NOT GIVE UP ON MEDITATION

Speaking again of her most crucial message, Our Lady says :
Pray and fast. Do not give up on meditation. At home meditate at least half an hour (Locutionist Jelena & Mirijana January 21, 1984).

And in Colossians, Paul also stresses prayer :

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time pray for us as well that God will open for us a door for the word…(Col 4 :2-3).

Reflections:

Fr. Mark Link tells the story of a young prince who was very handsome except for one thing : he had a crooked back. This birth defect caused him great sorrow and kept him from being the kind of prince that he really wanted to be.

One day the prince's father asked the best sculptor in his kingdom to make a statue of the prince. However, it should portray him with a straight back. The king wanted his son to see himself as he could be. When the sculptor finished the statue, it was truly magnificent. It was so lifelike that you could mistake it for the prince. The king placed the statue in the prince's private garden.

Each day when the prince went to his garden to study, he looked longingly at the statue. Then one day he noticed that when he did this, his heart beat faster and his body tingled. Months passed. Soon the people began to say to one another, » When the prince heard this, his heart beat even faster and his body tingled even more.

Now he began to go to the garden more often. He spent hours standing before the statue, studying it closely and meditating on it. Then one day a remarkable thing happened. The prince found himself standing as straight as the statue.

This story is a kind of parable of each of us. We see Jesus as the perfect image of what we ere born to be. He stands spiritually straight and beautiful. And just as the prince studied and pondered the statue, so we must study and ponder Christ so that we can become his image.

Application:

Today, let us simply take the Madonna's advice and meditate on the life of Christ through scriptural prayer, the rosary, or quiet contemplation.

Medjugorje Day By Day Oct 13 - SING, BE FULL OF JOY!

"The encounter with Christ, constantly intensified and deepened in the Eucharist, issues in the Church and in every Christian an urgent summons to testimony and evangelization" (Pope Benedict XVI, October 9, 2005).

"Where Jesus is . . . there is joy
there is peace
there is love.
And that is why He made Himself the Bread of Life
to be our life of love and joy.
No one else can give what He gives
and He is there all the time"
(Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta).

Mother Teresa -
Our vocation is to belong to Jesus. The easiest way and the simplest way of belonging is this: the Holy Spirit makes us do that giving of self, that total surrender to God, without any reflection, without any counting the cost.
We call that " blind surrender. "

Meditations by Padre Pio - You are searching feverously for the Supreme Good, but in truth, He is within you, keeping you stretched out on the naked cross, breathing strength into you to bear the intolerable torment, and love, that you may painfully love His love. Your fear of having lost Him, then, is altogether futile, for He is quite near and clasps you to Himself. Equally futile is your anxiety for the future, since the present is a crucifixion of love.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
The Golden Quality of Truth

"Grains of truth are like grains of gold that prospectors find; they can be discovered after a long search; they must be sifted from error with great patience; they must be buried with sacrifice to erase the dross and washed in the streams of honesty."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -

On Friday during Mass when my soul was flooded with God's happiness, I heard these words in my soul: My mercy has passed into souls through the divine-human Heart of Jesus as a ray from the sun passes through crystal. I felt in my heart and understood that every approach to God is brought about by Jesus, in Him and through Him. (528)

O God, how I desire that souls come to know You and to see that You have created them because of Your unfathomable love. O my Creator and Lord, I feel that I am going to remove the veil of heaven so that earth will not doubt Your goodness.

Make of me, Jesus, a pure and agreeable offering before the Face of Your Father. Jesus, transform me, miserable and sinful as I am, into Your own self (for You can do all things), and give me to Your Eternal Father. I want to become a sacrificial host before You, but an ordinary wafer to people.

I want the fragrance of my sacrifice to be known to You alone. O Eternal God, an unquenchable fire of supplication for Your mercy burns within me. I know and understand that this is my task, here and in eternity. You yourself have told me to speak about this great mercy and about Your goodness. (483)

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

-OCT 13 - SING, BE FULL OF JOY!

The following was given to Jelena, the locutionist : In difficulties, when you carry the cross, sing, be full of joy! (Locutionist Jelena & Mirjana 1986).

The psalmist also urges us to sing :

O sing to the Lord a new song;

Sing to the Lord, all the earth.

Sing to the Lord, bless his name;

Tell of his salvation from day to day.

Declare his glory among all the peoples.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;

He is to be revered among all gods.

Psalm 96 :1 - 4

Reflection:

Joy and song are two of God's most beautiful gifts to mankind. Needless to say, the greatest joy is found in God himself, as we see from Psalm 96 today.

The following hymn is one of the most ancient in the church. Composed by St. Nicetas, it dates from A.D. Sundays, feasts, and solemnities. Let us offer the TeDeum (You Are God) with joy :

You are God: we praise you;

You are the Lord: we acclaim you;

You are the Eternal Father:

All creation worships you.

To you all angels, all the powers of heaven,

Cherubim and Seraphim, sing in endless praise :

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.

The glorious company of apostles praise you.

The noble fellowship of prophets praise you.

The white-robed army of martyrs praise you.

Throughout the world the holy church acclaims you :

Father, of majesty unbounded,

Your true and only Son,

worthy of all worship,

And the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide.

You, O Christ, are the king of glory,

The eternal Son of the Father.

When you became man to set us free.

You did not spurn the Virgin's womb.

You overcame the sting of death,

And opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers.

You are seated at God's right hand in glory.

We believe that you will come, and be our judge.

Come then, Lord, and help your people,

Brought with the price of your own blood,

And bring us with your saints to everlasting glory.

Amen.

Application:

Joyful pray the TeDeum on the next several Sundays, as priests and religious do throughout the world.

Medjugorje Day By Day Oct 12 - I LOVE YOU ALL

"All the angels . . . fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped
God" (Rev 7:11).

Mother Teresa -
The whole of our life must come to that one word "yes."
Yes to God: that is holiness.
We allow God to take from us whatever He wants and we accept whatever He gives with joy.
That is yes in action.

Meditations by Padre Pio -
Don't tire yourself with things that cause anxieties, perturbation and worries. Only one thing is necessary, to lift up your spirit and love God.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Truth travels along the narrow way
"Truth is a narrow path; either side is an abyss. It is easy to fall either to the right or the left; it was easy to be an idealist in the nineteenth century, as it is easy to be a materialist in the twentieth century; but to avoid both abysses and walk that narrow path of truth is as thrilling as a romance."

St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
When I entered chapel, I heard these words interiorly: Every time you enter the chapel, immediately recite the prayer which I taught you yesterday. When I had said the prayer, in my soul I heard these words:This prayer will serve to appease My wrath.

You will recite it for nine days, on the beads of the rosary, in the following manner: First of all, you will say one OUR FATHER and HAIL MARY and the I BELIEVE IN GOD. Then on the OUR FATHER beads you will say the following words: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world."

On the HAIL MARY beads you will say the following words: "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world." In conclusion, three times you will recite these words: "Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world." (476)

During Holy Mass I prayed fervently that Jesus might become King of all hearts and that divine grace might shine in every soul. Then I saw Jesus as He is depicted in the Image, and He said to me, My daughter, you give Me the greatest glory by faithfully fulfilling My desires. (500)

OCT 12 - I LOVE YOU ALL

In this weekly message during May, the Madonna spoke of love:

Dear children, I have told you already that I have especially chosen you just the way you are. I am your Mother and I love you all. During times that are difficult, do not be afraid, for I love you even when you are far from my Son and me.

Please, do not let my heart weep with tears of blood for the souls that are being lost in sin. Therefore, dear children, pray, pray, pray! (Weekly Message May 24, 1984).

In Romans, Paul speaks of the love that has been poured out into our hearts:

And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God is love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us (Rom 5 :3-5).

Reflection:

One of the shows in the television series "Highway to Heaven" dealt with children with cancer, got the idea to have real-life victims play the parts.

.

Application:

Today, simply offer this Prayer for Kindness and Love:

Lord Jesus Christ, help us to realize the power of kindness and love. Help us to use this power the way you intended us to use it when you created us. Help us to use it to bring happiness to those around us. Help us to use it to work miracles, healing people in our time, just as you healed them through in your time. Amen.

SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

"Glorious St. Joseph, tender-hearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."

Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.

Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails). Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
