(Our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ)

While Herod was still alive, He grew up in Hieropolis, outside of Old Cairo, Akebulan (Africa), until He was about age six or seven.
"Herod" was the name of several rulers, and included Herod Achaeleus.

Matthew, Jude Thaddeus Lebbeus, John Mark (who died in Alexandria (Kemet/Egypt), Nathaniel Bartholomew, the Ethiopian Eunuch, and other apostles and disciples of Yeshua (Jesus) evangelized Africa.

But some evidence exists that St. Peter stopped and preached awhile in Africa (setting up the church in Babylon, Kemet (Egypt), mentoring his protégé, the African, St. Mark (Gospel of Mark). Mark became the first (arch) bishop of Alexandria, Kemet (Egypt). He also served as secretary to Paul, thus straddling two links in the early Church. More about this as facts are discovered in Vol. II.)

I am Mattai (Matthew Levi, also called the Evangelist). Alpheus and Mary were my parents. I spread the good news in Kemet, Ethiopia, Axum, (Abyssinia) for 23 years, (See Ruffin, The 12 Apostles, p.140). In battling two magicians, Zaroes and Arfaxat, through the power of Jesus Christ, I raised the son of King Aeglippus from dead. The magicians were forced to flee to what is now Iran.

I visited my Jewish brethren in Kemet and I am connected with the tradition/history of Abadias.

I preached to the Hebrews and wrote a Gospel for them in Aramaic before I continued my missionary work. In Africa, I was called apostle to the Ethiopians (Greek for “burnt faces”).

I was stoned and crucified downwards in Hierapolis, then beheaded. I am not black, as the term is understood, but I ministered in Africa, and so affiliated.

I am Simon Zelotes. From the bishop of Tyre and theologian, Dorotheus, traditions holds that I preached in Mauritania, Kemet, Libya, before going to Britain.
The Coptic Church chronicles my travels in Kemet, and other parts of Akebulan (Africa), including what is now Tunisia, Mauretania Caesariensis (partly Morocco and Algeria). The Apostles, p. 146, puts Simon Zelotes in Mauritania, Kemet, and Libya.

I am Jude Thaddeus (LEBBEUS)

Traditionally my evangelizing in Africa answered a letter received from the King of Axum, Abgar, the Black, by my cousin, Yeshua. But Jesus was on the way to the crucifixion. (Some say the actions took place in between Tigris and Euphrates). I also evangelized in India and what is now Burma.

I am Phillip. I evangelized in Ethiopia and other parts of Africa. Traditionally, I am shown preaching in Carthage (now found in present-day Tunisia, Libya).
An Ethiopian Orthodox Church tradition shows its apostolic succession is from me. I consecrated as a bishop, the Ethiopian Eunuch Finance minister of the Kandake (the warrior Queen Candace).

I am Nathaniel bar Tomai (Bartholomew). I evangelized in Central India, as well an area you would now consider black, and I preached in Kemet, according to Eusebius.

I am Thomas Didymus (The Twin). I founded the Church in what is now Beijing, China. I preached in India. The explorer, Marco Polo, prayed at my tomb in Malabar Province. Many of the priests and bishops designated Mar find their apostolic succession from me.

I am John Mark (Mark). I am called the evangelist. Martyred in or near Alexandria, Kemet (or dying there) see the New American Bible preface on section of John Mark.

Why is it
we always need an `explanation' of Faith?

"Finally convinced by vision, speech, and touch that He had risen, Mary Magdalene now runs to Peter and John to tell them of the news. Their answer was an `explanation' of the supposed phenomenon, and a typical explanation it was for men. They said `it is a woman's tale; you know how women are; they are always imagining things - are credulous and superstitious.'

When finally they were convinced on empirical grounds, it took seven days of evidence to convince the rest of the Apostles, one going so far as to demand the scientific test of putting his finger into the hands and his hand into the wounded side of Jesus, which evoked from the Savior the words, `Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed.'"

On a certain occasion, the Lord said to me, I am more deeply wounded by the small imperfections of chosen souls than by the sins of those living in the world. It made me very sad that chosen souls make Jesus suffer, and Jesus told me,

These little imperfections are not all. I will reveal to you a secret of My Heart: what I suffer from chosen souls. Ingratitude in return for so many graces is My Heart's constant food, on the part of [such] a chosen soul. Their love is lukewarm, and My Heart cannot bear it; these souls force Me to reject them. Others distrust My goodness and have no desire to experience that sweet intimacy in their own hearts, but go in search of Me, off in the distance, and do not find Me. This distrust of My goodness hurts Me very much.

If My death has not convinced you of My love, what will? Often a soul wounds Me mortally, and then no one can comfort Me. They use My graces to offend Me. There are souls who despise My graces as well as all the proofs of My love. They do not wish to hear My call, but proceed into the abyss of hell. The loss of these souls plunges Me into deadly sorrow. God though I am, I cannot help such a soul because it scorns Me; having a free will, it can spurn Me or love Me. You, who are the dispenser of My mercy, tell all the world about My goodness, and thus you will comfort My Heart. (580)

APRIL 16 - I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE

Today Our Lady thanks the youth of the world:
Dear children, I ask you to enter fully into prayer, for it is in prayer that you will come to know God's plans. (Weekly Message November 28, 1985).

And from the Old Testament, the advice of a sage:

Rejoice, young man, while you are young, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Follow the inclination of your heart and the desire of your eyes, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment (Eccl 11:9)

Reflection:

The Blessed Mother has a special place in her heart for the young. Interestingly, most of her apparitions have been to children and youth, including those of Medjugorje.

Perhaps she chooses the young because they are open, innocent, and full of wonder. Yet we are called to these qualities, as the following verses relate:

Youth is not a time of life…it is a state of mind. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years; people grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despair…these are the long, long years that bow the head and turn the growing spirit back to dust.

Whether seventy or sixteen, there is in every being's heart the love of wonder, the sweet amazement of the stars and the star like things and thoughts, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing childlike appetite for what is next, and the joy of the game of life.

You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair.

Application:

Today, simply reflect on this line from Sir J. Stevens: "Every man has in himself a continent of undiscovered character. Happy is he who acts the Columbus to his own soul."

Dear Friends,

The Story of Thomas

Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe." Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." John 20:24-29

It snowed for most of the day yesterday but not heavy. The temperature was just at the freezing point or just one degree above. What fell was wet snow and much of the snow that fell on the roads melted. Today it should clear up and we should see the sun later on.

I present you now with the message from Our Lord and Savior addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, "When the Apostle Thomas was told that I was raised from the dead, he refused to believe. He wanted to put his finger into the mark of the nails and put his hand in My side. When I returned I called him to do just that. After he put his finger in the place of the nails and in My side, he did believe with all his heart.

My dear brothers and sisters, read this story so that it can help you to believe in Me as he did. He is your witness to show that he had doubts about My resurrection but after seeing Me, his doubts were gone and he believed. Accept his testimony as true and come and accept Me as your Lord and Redeemer. Thomas also died a martyr to show that what he professed was indeed true.

You are blessed, My friends, if you believe in Me without seeing Me. All those who believe today have never seen Me but they believe because of the testimony of the Bible and of the Church. Faith in Me, your Savior, is absolutely necessary in order to get to heaven. Accept and believe in My resurrection and come and follow Me. I will lead you along the right path that leads to heaven. I love you and I bless you."

Dear Friends,

Appearance to the Disciples

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he had said this, be breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." John 20:19-23

We are still in the midst of a fierce winter storm which started Saturday night with plenty of snow. Yesterday the plows were out and cleared the roads so we could go to church but it snowed almost the whole day. Freezing rain fell during the night and this morning the windows are covered with ice and it is still snowing. It should clear up sometime today and I hope this is our last snowstorm.

I celebrated Holy Mass yesterday morning at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, and a small group attended due to the storm. I was invited to two places for beautiful Easter meals. Today I am supposed to go to the Manor but I don't know if I will be able to reach the place with all this ice and snow. I will be leaving on Thursday for Medjugorje and I will be back on April 26. There will be a Healing Mass at the little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island on May 1.

Here is a message from Our Lord and Savior addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, "After My resurrection on Easter morning, I appeared to various people beginning with My Mother, Mary Magdalene and the ten Apostles. One of the Apostles, Thomas, was not there. After I greeted them and showed them My hands and My side, they believed in Me although they were afraid. At that first appearance, I gave them the power to forgive sins.

I had died on the cross to atone for your sins before the Father. Now that I had accomplished everything the Father had asked Me, I gave the Apostles who were made priests at the Last Supper the power to absolve the sins of those who repented. Today all the priests of My Church have this power, which they received at ordination.

My dear friends, make use of this great sacrament often. It shows My love for you as I had to die on the cross to pay the price for all your sins. Now through the absolution of the priest your sins are wiped away and you receive the important graces of the sacrament. Rely on My mercy and go to receive this sacrament at least once a month.

Some think they do not have to go to confession to a priest because they wrongly think that they can go to Me directly. My friends, follow my teachings and not what My enemies teach you. I bless you."

Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails. Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
