First published, August, 2007., in this third edition, folks traditionally surmised that Christian spirituality was brought into the African continent. Author James Wesly Smith indicates in this 456 reference tome.
“Not so fast. Yeshua (Jesus) grew up in Africa until age 6 or 7 to escape ing Herod’s 10 assassins,” Smith points out. He cites the Christian Bible references of Hosea 11:1, and Matthew 2:13-15, “Out of Africa, I called my son”.
Blending the lists of Coptic, Orthodox and Latin Rite friends of God called “saints”, Smith points out that more than 56,000 Black and African-heritaged folks labored in the faith. He says it was partly that because places such as Kemet (Egypt) was Rome’s bread baskets subject to higher taxes, this forced many holy folk into the deserts where the faith thrived.
In folksy style, Smith also goes onto to say that in ancient Macedonian, Greek, Roman, or even Ottoman Turkish maps, the term “North Africa”, is found nowhere. The attorney author concludes it as a colonialist construct to denigrate the achievements and contributions of holy Africans.

“Why do you follow a white god? Why do you worship in institutions that never accepted you?” — Stinging questions Black Catholics and others ethnic perennially parry from members in the historically Black Churches.
The questions traditionally have included queries from Al Islam (Muslims) believers in the urban areas.
But now evidence exists that Christianity (also) sprang out of the African, as opposed to the Saudi Arabia origination of the Prophet Muhammad and his original followers. "Be a man or a woman of prayer"
Dear Friends,
The Unknown Day and Hour
Jesus said to them... ... "But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. For as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. In those days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark.
They did not know until the flood came and carried them all away. So will it be also at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be out in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left. Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.
Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come. (Passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew 24:4a,36-44)

What I wish to impress upon all of you is that no one knows the day or the hour of My second coming. So what you have to do is to be always ready for My coming. Repent of all your sins and go to receive the Sacrament of Confession at least once a month. Be truly sorry for all your sins; in that case, your sins will be completely forgiven. Be a person of good deeds by helping people, forgiving those who hurt you, praying for those who need help, and feeding the poor. Be a man or a woman of prayer. You need to pray every day especially the rosary and go to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass every Sunday."

"I bless you"
Dear Friends,
The temptations of Jesus
Filled with the holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, to be tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over he was hungry. The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'One does not live by bread alone.'" Then he took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a single instant. The devil said to him, "I shall give to you all this power and their glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I may give it to whomever I wish.
All this will be yours, if you worship me." Jesus said to him in reply, "It is written: 'You shall worship the Lord, your God, and him alone shall you serve.'" Then he led him to Jerusalem, made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,' and: 'With their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'" Jesus said to him in reply, "It also says, 'You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.'" When the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from him for a time. "As Lent begins I wish to greet you, My brother Joseph Melvin, and all My brothers and sisters living in all parts of the world. I call you to come with Me into the spiritual desert for forty days. It was at the beginning of My public life that I went into the desert praying to the Father and not eating anything. At the end the devil came to tempt Me but he did not succeed in his efforts to cause Me to sin.
Remember, this time of Lent is a great occasion to do penance, to fast, to pray more and to grow in your personal relationship with Me and to give help to the poor by almsgiving. It is a time to be strong spiritually to combat the temptations of the devil, the world and the flesh. You need to cooperate with all the graces I will give you each day of these forty days. You know that it is a time to prepare for the Great Feast of Easter.
Come aside with Me every day in prayer and do not forget to pray your rosary. I am your Friend and I will help you. You have to get rid of any bad habit you have picked up and work hard to establish good habits and virtues in your life. I bless you."

The Coming of the Son of God
Jesus said to them... "Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. The Great Tribulation
"When you see the desolating abomination spoken of through Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains, a person on the housetop must not go down to get things out of his house, a person in the field must not return to get his cloak. Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days.
Pray that your flight not be in winter or on the sabbath, for at that time there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will be. And if those days had not been shortened, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect they will be shortened. If anyone says to you then, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it.
False messiahs and false prophets will arise, and they will perform signs and wonders so great as to deceive, if that were possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told it to you beforehand. So if they say to you, 'He is in the desert,' do not go out there; if they say, 'He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it.
For just as lightning comes from the east and is seen as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. (Passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew 24:15-28)

No one knows the day or the hour I will return. If someone tells you a day for My return, do not believe it. There are some today who are going around announcing that I will come in May 2011. This is false and do not bother yourself with this rumor.
If you are close to Me every day, there is no reason for you to be afraid. I am your Friend and I will be there to help you. The angels will be working all over the world to help you get to Jerusalem. It will be done in a very short time. What is important is the Last Judgment. Work hard every day so that you will be placed on My right. It is those on My right who will go to heaven. Have a close and intimate relationship with Me every day."

"Be prepared at all times"
Dear Friends,
The Beginning of Calamities
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately and said, "Tell us, when will this happen, and what sign will there be of your coming, and of the end of the age?" Jesus said to them in reply, "See that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Messiah,' and they will deceive many.
You will hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place. All these are the beginning of the labor pains. Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name. And then many will be led into sin; they will betray and hate one another.
Many false prophets will arise and deceive many; and because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. Many are suffering today and a good number have been killed. I wish to protect you in a special way if you remain united to Me and follow all that I have taught you.
There are some announcing My coming next year or the next. Do not believe these people. No one knows when I will come to judge the living and the dead. However, be prepared at all times. Indeed the time is short. I want the Gospel to be announced all over the world by you who believe in Me, your Savior. Do this and you will be blessed."

"I am praying for all of you"
Dear Friends,
Mary Visits Elizabeth
During those days Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled." (Passage from the Gospel of St. Luke 1:39-45)
Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother Mary given to Joseph Melvin. She spoke to him these words,
"I bless you, My son Joseph Melvin, and all My sons and daughters living in every part of the world. I want you all to listen carefully to the inspired words of My cousin Elizabeth when I visited her while she was pregnant with John the Baptist.
When I greeted My cousin, the child in her womb leaped and My cousin was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke about Me saying, 'Most blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.' It was through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that My cousin knew that I was pregnant and the child was the Messiah, the Savior and her Lord. She said that I was most blessed among women.
Indeed I was chosen by God the Father to be the Mother of His Son, Jesus. That is why My cousin said that I am most blessed among women and indeed the child in My womb is most blessed too.
I was pregnant only a few days when I came to visit My cousin and yet Jesus was recognized both by the baby in her womb and by her. There is a child living in the womb from the very beginning of a woman's pregnancy. Respect the child in the womb and let him live. That child has the right to live. I am praying for all of you."
