METAPHYSICAL PROPOSAL ON THE MODE OF USING HAWTHORN
FOR THE COMING PLAGUES…HAWTHORN
(QUESTION FOR DISCERNMENT- Is this swine flu h1n1 sars? Bird flu? You do the research!)
As given by our BLESSED MOTHER MARYAM, August 5, 1880:
"There will be a grave illness which human science will not be able to
alleviate. This illness will attack firstly the heart, then the spirit, and at
the same time, the tongue. It will be horrible.
The heat accompanying it will be a devouring fire insupportable and so intense that the members of the body affected will be red -- an unendurable fiery red. At the end of seven days this
disease, sown like a seed in the field (incubation period) will spread
everywhere rapidly and make great progress."
"My children, here is the ONLY remedy which could save you. You are familiar with the Hawthorn which grows practically in all hedges.
The leaves of the Hawthorn, not the wood, can arrest the progress of this disease."
"You will gather the leaves, not the wood. Even dry, they will keep their efficacy.
You will put them into boiling water and leave them there for 14 minutes, covering the receptacle so that the steam remains therein.
At the onset of this disease, one must use this remedy three times a day."
"This disease will produce a continual vomiting and nausea. If the remedy is taken too late, the part of the body affected will become black and in the black there will be seen a sort of pale, yellow streak."
NO ONE HAS TO BELIEVE ANYTHING! TEST. DISCERN THE SPIRIT!
A SLIGHT CHANGE FOR CHILDREN- 8 MINUTES)
Note: It is a tradition that the Hawthorn was the plant from which Pilate’s Roman soldiers wove the CROWN OF THORNS.

Daily Consecration to the Eternal Father
For the greater glory of God and for the salvation of all, I consecrate myself to You, O' Eternal Father, as one of Your faithful remnant. Behold, I come to do Your Will. With the help of Your Grace, I will keep Your Commandments. I will love and reverence You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. I will love my neighbor as You love me.
I make this Consecration through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Your beloved Son, Jesus.
O' Eternal Father, send forth Your Holy Spirit to restore my/our broken image and likeness of You. Send forth also Your entire Heavenly Court, all the celestial choirs of Your angels and all Your Saints, to aid me/us in my/our struggle against all the forces of evil in this present darkness. Amen. (Adapted from the Father of All Mankind Apostolate).
The Lord's Prayer
How many of us have said the “Our Father” with so little thought, so little reverence, and so little fruitfulness? However, when we are open to the Holy Spirit within us and pray from the heart, look at what can happen:"
Our Father, (“Our” Father—not “My” Father - all of God’s children of all races, all colors & all creeds)
Our Father, (Abba, “Daddy” God)
Who art in Heaven, (and Who art in me)
Hallowed be Thy Name. (Holy be Thy Name, praised be Thy Name, thanks be to Thy Most Holy Name)
Thy Kingdom come. (now - on earth and in me)
Thy Will be done, (now - on earth and in me)
on earth as it is in Heaven. (at the Throne of God, with the Trinity, Our Lady and all the Angels and Saints)
Give us this day our daily bread. (the Bread of your Divine Will, the Bread of Life in the Eucharist, and the bread we need to eat to sustain our bodies)
And forgive us our trespasses(forgive us our sins, our imperfections and our hesitancies in the face of temptation)
As we forgive those (or as we choose not to forgive those) who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,(for we are weak, we are worthless, we are wretched & we are nothing)
But deliver us from evil.(for it is only through your grace, not by our works alonenor our merit that we can escape eternal damnation)
Amen. (So I hope. So be it).
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary Protectress of Africa
Holy Mary, Mother of God, Protectress of Africa, you have given to the world the true Light, Jesus Christ. Through your obedience to the Father and the grace of the Holy Spirit, you have given us the source of our reconciliation and our justice, Jesus Christ, our peace and our joy.
Mother of Tenderness and Wisdom, show us Jesus, your Son and the Son of God. Guide our path of conversion, so that Jesus might shine his glory on us in every aspect of our personal, familial and social lives.
Mother, full of Mercy and Justice, through your docility to the Spirit, the Counselor, obtain for us the grace to be witnesses of the Risen Lord, so that we will increasingly become the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
Mother of Perpetual Help, we entrust to your maternal intercession the preparation and fruits of the Second Special Assembly for Africa. Queen of Peace, pray for us! Our Lady of Africa, pray for us!

"Come follow Me"
Dear Friends,
The Resurrection of the Dead
But if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then neither has Christ been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then empty too is our preaching, empty, too, your faith. Then we are also false witnesses to God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, neither has Christ been raised, and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are the most pitiable people of all.
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead came also through a human being. For just as in Adam all die, so too in Christ shall all be brought to life, but each one in proper order: Christ the firstfruits; then, at his coming, those who belong to Christ; then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has destroyed every sovereignty and every authority and power. 1 Cor 15:12--24
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words,
Every person on earth lives there for only a time and after his or her time is over, the person will go to the other world. Every person has an immortal soul and therefore will never die. Today many people think that life ends at death but the truth is that life continues after death.
At death life changes, you no longer live in the world but you go to one of the three places: heaven, purgatory or hell. If you have followed Me in your lifetime on earth, I will bring you to heaven with Me. If you did not repent sufficiently and did not make amends for your sins but you were sorry for all your sins, you will go to purgatory to be purified before you go to heaven. If you rejected Me during your life on earth and did not repent of your sins and come back to Me before you died, you will go to hell.
I give you all the graces you need to follow Me in the world and to be united with Me forever in heaven for all eternity. At the end of time I will return for the last judgment and there will be the resurrection of all the dead. I rose from the dead and I am the first person to do so. Yours will come later. Prepare yourselves daily by cooperating with all the graces I give you. Come follow Me.

"I bless you"
Dear Friends,
The Crucifixion of Jesus
Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”
Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.” There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit. John 19:25–30
Below is the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Joseph. She spoke to him these words,
“I bless you, Joseph Melvin, My son. I wish to send a word to all My sons and daughters spread throughout the world. As you know I stood at the foot of the cross of My Son Jesus as He was dying in horrible suffering. I offered My sorrow together with His to the Father for the salvation of all of you.
It was there on the cross just before He died that He spoke to Me. As John the Apostle stood for all of you, Jesus said these words, “Woman, behold, your son,” and to John He said, “Behold, your mother.” By these words I became your Mother. So if you accept Jesus as Your Savior and Lord, I am truly your Mother who prays for you and appears in many parts of the world to call you to follow Jesus, My Son.
As your Mother, I love you all with all My Heart. I want the salvation of all of you and what sorrow it would bring Me if anyone of you should be lost. Come, My dear children, and listen to your Mother. I call you to renew yourselves in body and spirit through the graces won for you by your Savior’s death on the cross. Be fervent in your spiritual life and pray with all your heart. Do not follow the ways of the world for it will lead you away from Jesus. Always be a friend of Jesus and your Mother. I bless you.”

"Spend time with Me today"
Dear Friends,
The Gospel Teaching
Now I am reminding you, brothers, of the Gospel I preached to you, which you indeed received and in which you also stand. Through it you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures; that he appeared to Kephas, then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. After that he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
Last of all, as to one born abnormally, he appeared to me. For I am the least of the apostles ... because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been ineffective. Indeed, I have toiled harder than all of them; not I, however, but the grace of God that is with me. Therefore, whether it be I or they, so we preach and so you believe. 1 Cor 15:1-11
Below is the message given by Our Lord and Savior and received by Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words,
"My brothers and sisters, I am in great pain as I hang upon the cross for your salvation. They have pierced my hands and my feet and blood is flowing from my many wounds. The crown of thorns driven into my head causes Me great suffering and the blood is flowing into My eyes and all over My face. I can hardly breathe in this position and I am offering Myself to the Father in sacrifice for all your sins. I am calling you from the cross to leave your sins behind and to come and follow Me. I suffered this horrible death because I love you and I want you with Me forever.
Come and look at Me on the cross today. See what your sins have done to Me and repent. I am the Son of God who came down to earth to show you the way to heaven. I opened the doors of heaven, which were closed after the great sin of Adam and Eve. I won for you many graces by My suffering and I give them to you if you ask for them. You need them because without those graces you cannot do anything good. Spend time with Me today."

JESUS EXPLAINS HOW WE CAN BE IN HIM AS HE IS IN US!
Today we attended our usual 8:00 AM Mass at our parish, Our Lady Of Sorrows. I made small offerings to Jesus and Mary and prayed for all with special needs and intentions, including my own. Today the priest offered the Mass for the intentions of all parishioners that was so nice!
Prior to receiving Holy Communion, I made an Act of Contrition. After receiving the most precious Body and Blood of Jesus, I knelt in silent commune with Jesus asking Him to remove all outside distraction that my heart and mind might only hear and see that which comes directly from His heart to mine.
On my knees, I prayed, Speak Lord (always if it be His will), Your servant listens.
Jesus responded to my heart saying: My child Eileen, I want you to totally give of yourself to Me. Your attention, your time, your daily acts and your entire life! When you do this, I will absorb you as a sponge absorbs water.
In this way, you will be best able to carry out My will. Through the metamorphosis of being in Me as I AM in you, all who meet you will find confirmation that I AM.
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.
This is just a Note of reminder to all who read messages from Jesus. Although He does speak to my heart and sometimes it may appear, directly to me, Jesus' message are the bread of Life for all who hear His word!.
Thanks,
Eileen

August 28, 2009- - -11:30 AM
Then L. began to receive a message from God the Father and said, "Jesus, please cover me with Your Most Precious Blood."(and other prayers of testing)
Then God spoke, "You people are obsessed with fleeting desires that will do you harm. Desire only Me and to return to My Kingdom. You desire money, cars, boats, big pretentious homes, vacations, influential jobs, etc.
Become humble! Share all YOU have with the less fortunate ie, the poor, the elderly,
sickly- - all those in need. GIVE! Give of yourself. Spread love to all for all are your brothers and sisters- - -the
world is ONE BIG FAMILY. I am the Father of all, your Creator, your God!
Possessions can only lead you astray! Seek only to do My will for you each day! Seek the Kingdom of God!
I love you My children! Please hear Me! Please return to Me. I miss you! I don't hear your voice any longer. My arms are outstretched to greet you. My Heart
is open to receive My Prodigal."

"MY HEART CRIES COPIOUS TEARS FOR ALL SOULS THAT WILL BE LOST - - -FOREVER"
Note: His Voice was filled with so much TENDER LOVE AND SADNESS..
Medjugorje Day By Day Aug 31 - WHAT TO SAY IN PRAYER
"At the time of Holy Communion I sometimes picture my soul under the figure
of a little child of three or four years, who at play has got its hair tossed
and its clothes soiled.
These misfortunes have befallen me in battling with
souls. But very soon the Blessed Virgin hastens to my aid: quickly, she takes
off my dirty little pinafore, smoothes my hair and adorns it with a pretty
ribbon or simply with a little flower... and this suffices to render me
pleasing and enables me to sit at the Banquet of Angels without blushing."
(St. Therese)
Mother Teresa -
Love is a fruit, in season at all times and within the reach of every hand. Anyone may gather it and no limit is set.
Meditations by Padre Pio - Always stay close to the Catholic Church, because it alone can give you true peace, because it alone possesses Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, who is the true Prince of Peace.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
There is only one standard which we can judge
"Proud people think themselves to be better than they are, and when criticized always believe their neighbor is jealous or has a grudge against them. The humble know themselves as they really are, for they judge themselves as they judge time, by a standard outside themselves, namely, God and His Moral Law."
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
When I had gone to the chapel for a moment, the Lord gave me to know that, among His chosen ones, there are some who are especially chosen, and whom He calls to a higher form of holiness, to exceptional union with Him. These are seraphic souls, from whom God demands greater love than He does from others.
Although all live in the same convent, yet He sometimes demands of a particular soul a greater degree of love. Such a soul understands this call, because God makes this known to it interiorly, but the soul may either follow this call or not. It depends on the soul itself whether it is faithful to these touches of the Holy Spirit, or whether it resists them. I have learned that there is a place in purgatory where souls will pay their debt to God for such transgressions; this kind of torment is the most difficult of all.
The soul which is specially marked by God will be distinguished everywhere, whether in heaven or in purgatory or in hell. In heaven, it will be distinguished from other souls by greater glory and radiance and deeper knowledge of God. In purgatory, by greater pain, because it knows God more profoundly and desires Him more vehemently. In hell, it will suffer more profoundly than other souls, because it knows more fully Whom it has lost. This indelible mark of God's exclusive love, in the [soul], will not be obliterated. (1556)
At that moment, the light of God penetrated my being, and I felt that I was God's exclusive property; and I experienced the greatest spiritual freedom, of which I had had no previous idea. And at the same time, I saw the glory of the Divine Mercy and an infinite multitude of souls who were praising His goodness.
My soul was completely drowned in God, and I heard the words, You are My well-beloved daughter. The vivid presence of God continued throughout the whole day. (1681)

Quote of the Day - We should consider those moments spent before the Blessed Sacrament as the happiest of our lives. -St. John Vianney
Today's Tidbit - Amen is a Hebrew word meaning truly, it is true. In the Gospels, Christ used the word to ad a not of authority to his statements. In other New Testament writings, as in Hebrew usage, it was the concluding word to doxologies. As the concluding word of prayers, it expresses assent to and acceptance of God's will.
MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.
AUGUST 31 - WHAT TO SAY IN PRAYER
To Jelena, concerning prayer, Our Lady said:
I know that I speak to you very often about prayer, but know that there are many people in the world who do not pray, who do not even know what to say in prayer (Locutionist Jelena & Mirijana January 15, 1984.).
And in Psalm 81, the Lord himself speaks in answer to a prayer:
I relieved your shoulder of the burden;
Your hands were greed from the basket.
In distress you called, and I rescued you.
Psalm 81:6-7
Reflection:
In a conversation with Marija Pavlovic on February 2, 1992, as we were discussing this book, she asked that I especially emphasize Our Lady's call to prayer.
It is the most important thing. There is nothing the Gospa wants more. She calls everyone to three hours of prayer, which is only 1/8 of our day, She asks for prayer in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. Her favorite prayer, of course , is the rosary, and the greatest of all prayer is holy Mass.
Marija has been invited to many Medjugorje conferences in America and elsewhere, but they pose a problem for her:"They should follow the idea of a retreat rather than a convention. Our Lady calls us to actually pray and live her messages, but sometimes we get caught up in just talking about them."
It is significant that when Marija travels abroad with Fr. Slavko to give presentations on Medjugorje, the format they use is that of a retreat. Marija speaks only briefly and then leads the participants in the rosary. Such a conference retreat would still bring together Medjugorje's friends in camaraderie and support and support, with the emphasis on prayer and spiritual growth.
Application:
Today, reflect on the priority and time you give to prayer. Can you expand your private prayer a bit at a time? This was the approach Our Lady used with the seers and villagers of Medjugorje
Medjugorje Day By Day Aug 30 - DEEDS OF LOVE AND MERCY
"In the light of this teaching, we see still more clearly the reason why the entire sacramental life of the Church and of each Christian reaches its summit and fullness in the Eucharist. For by Christ's will there is in this sacrament a continual renewing of the mystery of the sacrifice of Himself
that Christ offered to the Father on the altar of the cross, a sacrifice that the Father accepted, giving, in return for this total self-giving by His Son, who 'became obedient unto death,' (156)
His own paternal gift, that is to say the grant of new immortal life in the resurrection, since the Father is the first source and the giver of life from the beginning. That new life, which involves the bodily glorification of the crucified Christ, became an efficacious sign of the new gift granted to humanity, the gift that is the Holy Spirit, through whom the divine life that the Father has in Himself and gives to His Son (157) is communicated to all men who are united with Christ." (This continues a series of excerpts from Our Holy Father, Pope John
Paul II's encyclical Redemptor Hominis, The Redeemer of Man)
Mother Teresa -
No; what we need in our love is the continuous desire to love the One we love.
Meditations by Padre Pio - When we do the will of others, we must realize we are doing God's will, which is manifested for us in the will of our Superiors and neighbors.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Pride is the child of ignorance
"Our hatred of a person often decreases as we learn to know him better. A boy graduating from high school is generally not as humble as when he graduates from medical school. At eighteen he thought he knew it all; at twenty-eight he feels himself ignorant in the face of the medical science he has yet to acquire. So it is with God. Because we do not pray or contemplate or love Him, we become vain and proud; but when we know Him better we feel a deep sense of dependence which tempers our false independence. Pride is the child of ignorance, humility the offspring of knowledge."
Aug 30 http://www.catholic-forum.com/e-pistle.html
Quote of the Day - In what concerns the promotion of justice and especially the defense of fundamental human rights, the Church's apostolate cannot be improvised. As a body organized within the community and the nation, the Church has both the right and the duty to participate fully in building a just and peaceful society with all means at her disposal. -Pope John Paul II Ecclesia in Africa
Today's Tidbit - Many biographies of the saints who lived during the Middle Ages, including St. Fiacre, mention that the person was raised in a monastery. This happened for a variety of reasons. Many times wealthy families would send a child to a convent or monastery to ensure an education appropriate to their social class. Poorer families would often send a child to a monastery to assist the family by reducing their economic dependence. Religious life was often encouraged as an alternative for children who could not expect much of an inheritance later in life.
These are only a few of the reasons for why a child might be sent to a monetary and unfortunately these reasons to not highlight deep religious devotion or the presence of a vocation for entering a monastery despite the fact that these two things brought many women and men to religious life in the Middle Ages.
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
Unity with the merciful Christ. Because I am united to Jesus, I must be faithful always and everywhere, and I must be interiorly united with the Lord, while exteriorly observing fidelity to the rule, particularly that of silence. (1352)
At that moment, the Lord gave me to know how jealous He is of my heart.
Even among the sisters you will feel lonely. Know then that I want you to unite yourself more closely to Me. I am concerned about every beat of your heart. Every stirring of your love is reflected in My Heart. I thirst for your love. "Yes, O Jesus, but my heart would not be able to live without You, either; for even if the hearts of all creatures were offered to me, they would not satisfy the depths of my heart." (1542)

AUGUST 30 - DEEDS OF LOVE AND MERCY
In her monthly message for March, 1987, the Virgin said:
Dear children, today I thank you for your presence
here where I am giving you special graces. I call each of you to begin to live, starting today, the life which God desires of you, and to begin doing good deeds of love and mercy. But, dear children, I so not want you to live this message and, at the same time, sadden me by committing sin.
Dear children, I also want each of you to begin living a new life, being careful not to ruin all that God has done in you and has given to you. As I give you my special blessing, know that I am constantly with you on your road to conversion (Monthly Message March 25, 1987).
At the Last Supper, Jesus also spoke of love and service:
After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had returned to the table, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you?
You call me teacher and Lord and you are right, for that is what I am. So if I , your Lord and teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you"(Jn 13:12-15).
Reflection:
Loving service to others was a major theme of Christ's ministry on earth, and a repeated message at Medjugorje as well. The example of love has drawn countless numbers to the faith overt the ages. One famous example:
When Sir Henry Stanley went out to Africa in 1871 and found the missionary Dr. Livingstone, he spent months in his company. Livingstone never spoke to Stanley about spiritual things. Throughout those months, Stanley watched the old man. Livingstone's habits were beyond his comprehension, and so was his patience. He could not understand Livingstone's sympathy for the Africans. For the sake of Christ and his gospel, the missionary doctor was patient, untiring, and eager. Stanley wrote, "When I saw that unwearied patience, that unflagging zeal, those enlightened sons of Africa, I became a Christian at his side, though he never spoke to me about it."
Application:
Call to mind someone who has inspired you by their example of faith. Has your own faith had an effect on others?
Medjugorje Day By Day Aug 29 - PRAY FOR THE YOUNG
"In the mystery of the Redemption, that is to say in Jesus Christ's saving
work, the Church not only shares in the Gospel of her Master through fidelity
to the word and service of truth, but she also shares, through a submission
filled with hope and love, in the power of His redeeming action
expressed and enshrined by Him in a sacramental form, especially in the
Eucharist. (154)
The Eucharist is the center and summit of the whole of
sacramental life, through which each Christian receives the saving power of
the Redemption, beginning with the mystery of Baptism, in which we are buried
into the death of Christ, in order to become sharers in His resurrection,
(155) as the Apostle teaches." (This begins a series of excerpts from Our
Holy Father, Pope John Paul II's encyclical Redemptor Hominis, The Redeemer of Man)
Mother Teresa -
I want you to fill your heart with great love. Don't imagine that love, to be true and burning, must be extraordinary.
Meditations by Padre Pio -
The gates of heaven are open for all creatures. Remember Mary Magdalene!
Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
There's no happiness in the realm of the ego
"The modern tendency is toward the affirmation of the ego, the exaltation of selfishness, riding roughshod over others in order to satisfy our own self-centeredness. It certainly has not produced much happiness, for the more the ego asserts itself the more miserable it becomes."
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html -
I receive Holy Communion in the manner of the Angels, so to speak. My soul is filled with God's light and nourishes itself from Him. My feelings are as if dead. This is a purely spiritual union with God; it is a great predominance of spirit over nature. (1278)
The Lord gave me knowledge of the graces which He has been constantly lavishing on me. This light pierced me through and through, and I came to understand the inconceivable favors that God has been bestowing on me. I stayed in my cell for a long act of thanksgiving, lying face down on the ground and shedding tears of gratitude.
I could not rise from the ground because, whenever I tried to do so, God's light gave me new knowledge of His grace. It was only at the third attempt that I was able to get up. As His child, I felt that everything the heavenly Father possessed was equally mine. He himself lifted me from the ground up to His Heart. I felt that everything that existed was exclusively mine, but I had no desire for it all, because God alone is enough for me. (1279)
Today, I have come to understand many of God's mysteries. I have come to know that Holy Communion remains in me until the next Holy Communion. A vivid and clearly felt presence of God continues in my soul. The awareness of this plunges me into deep recollection, without the slightest effort on my part. My heart is a living tabernacle in which the living Host is reserved. I have never sought God in some far-off place, but within myself. It is in the depths of my own being that I commune with my God. (1302)

Quote of the Day - Herodias harbored a grudge against him and wanted to kill him but was unable to do so. Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody. When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him. She had an opportunity one day when Herod, on his birthday, gave a banquet for his courtiers, his military officers and the leading men of Galilee.
Herodias's own daughter came in and performed a dance that delighted Herod and his guests. The king said to the girl, "Ask of me whatever you wish and I will grant it to you." She went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" She replied, "The head of John the Baptist." The Girl hurried back to the king's presence and made her request, "I want you to give me at once on a platter the head of John the Baptist."
The king was deeply distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests he did not wish to break his word to her. So he promptly dispatched an executioner with orders to bring back his head. He went off and beheaded him in the prison. He brought in the head on a platter and gave it to the girl. The girl in turn gave it to her mother. When his disciples heard about it, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb. -Mk 6:19-29
Today's Tidbit - At the beginning of the school year, it is customary in many places to celebrate a Mass of the Holy Spirit to invoke the Lord's blessing on the coming academic year. It is also customary for a similar Mass to be celebrated for the reopening of legislative bodies and courts of law.

AUGUST 29 - PRAY FOR THE YOUNG
Our Lady speaks of young people today:
My dear children, your prayers have helped me to
fulfill my plans. Praised be Jesus, my dear children! Dear children, tonight I especially ask you to pray for the young. I would like to recommend to my priests that they organize groups where young people can be taught and given good advice for their lives.
To all of you who are here tonight, I ask that you be the messengers of peace to others, especially to young people. You Mother is praying for you tonight (Visionary Prayer Group August 22, 1988).
Paul's words to the people of Thessalonica can be applied to young people:
As you know, we dealt with each one of you like a father with his children, urging and encouraging you and pleading that you lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory ( 1 Thes 2:11-12).
Reflection:
Some time ago a quick thinking ten-year who boy saved the life of a nine-year-old girl who had fallen through the ice on a river near Toledo, Ohio. Spotting Janet Rospert struggling in the cold waters of the ice-crusted river, young Richard Dicken wasted no time in putting his axe to the best use he ever made of it. He quickly climbed a nearly tree and chopped off a sturdy branch.
Then, hurrying to the shore, he reached out with the branch to Janet, who was precariously hanging onto a thin piece of ice. In a matter of moments he had pulled her to safety.
In these days much is said and written abut the short comings of young people. But there are countless instances like this that reflect the unselfishness and courage that god has instilled in his youth. For our part, the Blessed Mother asks us to be"the messengers of peace to others, to young people especially."
Application:
Today simply put into practice the Gospa's message: "Pray especially for the young."
Private Message from Our Lady To Gianna Sullivan Aug.15, 2009

August 15, 2009
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
My dear little children, praised be Jesus!
Thank you, little ones, for praying. God loves all children who pray, and you all belong to Him. You desire to know the Truth.
Whether I was assumed into Heaven, body and soul, before my death or after dying so as to be like my Son and then be called to Heaven, is for Mother Church and its hierarchy to debate. What you should know is that my soul is with God—from the beginning and always! I desire everything that He is, and I will do whatever He desires. I pray in intercession for you, and I present all of your prayers to God the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit.
But children, you should know this: I have been here coming in this country for many years. I have invited all to come to my most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. I have told you and warned you of many things to come, and it seems to me that you have passed them off.
If there is a natural catastrophe, if there is economic collapse, if there is death or serious illness, or if there is dangerous spirituality, you seem to forget all of what I have said. Yet, you continue to pray and pray and pray for the same things. Do you not know that God knows what you are praying for, even before you ask? Do you not know how many graces you could receive in healings and blessings?
If my army would only rally up and speak as a loud voice to the Church to allow me to be here in a special way! Perhaps you simply only desire it or do not have the hope of victory. Perhaps your self-pity desires that you fall, and accepts that God is angry with you and is vindictive and has passed you over.
Don’t be foolish! Those of you who sometimes believe and sometimes don’t, perhaps you ought to believe! For when you find out that you are wrong, your self-judgment will be so harsh that your heart will be closed to God’s Mercy!
I have told you over and over again: There is no time for fear, only time for change. If you desire to waste your time debating on whether this is real or not, instead of preparing your soul and doing without the things that you desire the most, then you will be held within yourself accountable, because you are missing an opportunity of Love.
The distance from the mind to the heart is far. If you think your mind, which God created for you and gave to you, can discern all good things, perhaps you had best purge yourself first of sin; and then you might have a clear conscience and be gifted with the grace of discernment and vigilance.
So many are called and invited, and there are so few who labor. What if I were not your Mother who loved you, a real Mother who cares for you, one who sees what you are doing and hears what you are saying? Perhaps, children, you should pray that you can be like me—not speaking about one another, not voicing your opinions, but only loving and following what I have asked.
Those who do this—and there are many who have—are safe! When the time comes, the oil in their lamps will be full; and, for the sake of the Kingdom and the purity and glory due to God Almighty, they will not share their oil. Those of you who truly desire to have the ears to hear, the heart to absorb, and the mind to embrace the Truth, are welcomed! You have all been called by God.
But if you believe that your focus should be on something else, and you ignore the Mother of God, I can tell you that you also ignore the Son, the Holy Spirit, and the entire foundation on which Mother Church has been built!

Private Message from Our Lady to Gianna Sullivan July 25, 2009
to Gianna Talone Sullivan
July 25, 2009
Washington, New Jersey
My dear little children, praised be Jesus!
Little ones, God loves you so much! Continue with all your heart to pray and to live a pure life. Do the very best you can do. Do not be afraid that you will fail. Do not have fear at all! Be strong and courageous. Persevere with gratitude, and thank God.
Few people give gratitude to God Almighty. God the Father taught His children how to pray. Always give thanks and praise, then ask for what you need. If it be according to the Divine Plan, then wait patiently. If you are not patient, you will still have to wait. You have to wait for God’s time. You can try to do what you desire, but your battle will be with God. So resign to His Will and wait on Him. Then praise Him again.
In good times and in bad, never leave Him. Remember: At the end there will be the weeding out the good and the bad. God does not want any good ones to be taken from Him. So wait. Love and wait patiently with perseverance and gratitude. In His infinite Wisdom, God Almighty knows what is best.
I bless you, dear children. I take all your petitions and will give them to my Son, your Savior. Know that We are with you. We will never leave you. You may desire to leave us, but We will never leave you. You are special, created and molded by God.
Peace. Thank you for responding to my call.

Medjugorje Day By Day Aug 28 - ST. AUGUSTINE
"It seems that, after nineteen centuries of extraordinary glorification, the
small Host for which so many cathedrals have sprung up, the small Host that
has rested in millions of breasts and that has found a tabernacle and
worshippers even in the desert?it seems that the triumphant Host of Lourdes
and the Eucharistic Congresses of Chicago and Carthage remains as unknown, as
secret as when it appeared for the first time in a room in Jerusalem. Light
is in the world as in the days of St. John the Baptist, and the world does
not know it." (Francois Mauriac, Holy Thursday: An Intimate Remembrance)
Mother Teresa -
To possess God we must allow Him to possess our souls. How poor we would be if God had not given us the power of giving ourselves to Him; how rich we are now!
Meditations by Padre Pio - Padre Pio's Prayer After Holy Communion
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength,
that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life and without You I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light and without You I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much and always be in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Lord, as poor as my soul is I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of Love.
Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close and life passes, death, judgment and eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is getting late and death approaches, I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows.
O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile! Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers, I need You. Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.
Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if not by Communion, at least by grace and love.
Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love,Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more. With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity. Amen.

True passion takes guts and courage
"To revive passion in hearts, one must first understand it. Passion signifies receiving or suffering something or submitting to something. From this, follow two indispensable conditions for passion: knowledge, and some organic or physical change in our sensible nature."
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian. org/directory_ flash.html -
August 1937. After Holy Communion, I saw the Lord Jesus in all His majesty, and He said to me, My daughter, during the weeks when you neither saw Me nor felt My presence, I was more profoundly united to you than at times [when you experienced) ecstasy. And the faithfulness and fragrance of your prayer have reached Me.
After these words, my soul became flooded with God's consolation. I did not see Jesus, and there was only one word I could utter and that was: "Jesus." And after pronouncing that Name, my soul was again filled with light and deeper recollection, which lasted uninterruptedly for three days. However, outwardly I could still carry out my usual duties.
My whole being was stirred to its most secret depths. God's greatness does not frighten me, but makes me happy. By giving Him glory, I myself am lifted up. On seeing His happiness, I myself am made happy, because all that is in Him flows back upon me. (1246)

Quote of the Day - He who faithfully prays to God for the necessaries of this life is both mercifully heard, and mercifully not heard. For the physician knows better than the sick man what is good for the disease. -St. Augustine
Today's Tidbit - Late have I loved Thee, O Lord; and behold, Thou wast within and I without, and there I sought Thee. Thou was with me when I was not with Thee. Thou didst call, and cry, and burst my deafness. Thou didst gleam, and glow, and dispel my blindness. Thou didst touch me, and I burned for Thy peace. For Thyself Thou hast made us, and restless our hearts until in Thee they find their ease. Late have I loved Thee, Thou Beauty ever old and ever new. Thou hast burst my bonds asunder; unto Thee will I offer up an offering of praise. St. Augustine
MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.
AUGUST 28 - ST. AUGUSTINE
The following is Our Lady's monthly message for May, 1990:
Dear children, I wish to help you grow in renunciation
and mortification. In this way you will be able to understand the beautiful life of those who especially give themselves to me. Dear children, God blesses you day after day and wishes to change your life. Therefore, pray that you may have the strength to change it (Monthly Message May 25, 1990).
John the Baptist also called the people to change their live by turning from sin:
In those days John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness of Judea, proclaiming, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near"(Mt 3:1-2).
Reflection:
St. Augustine was born in Africa in 354. His young adulthood was a stormy period, including fathering a child out of wedlock. In his twenties he moved to Milan, Italy, where he became a professor of rhetoric, but his personal life continued to be stormy and wayward.
While in Milan, two things happened to him. First, he became increasingly unhappy with his personal life, and second, he became attracted to Christianity. It was in this frame of mind that he sat down one day and began to ponder his life. Suddenly de broke into tears and began to cry out to God: "and you, Lord! How long will you be angry with me? Forever? Why not at this very hour put an end to my life?"Augustine said later:
I was crying out like this when, suddenly, I heard the voice of a child. It seemed to say, "Take and read! Take and read!" I stood up, for now the voice seemed like a command to read the Bible. I got a Bible and opened it, and the first words my eyes fell upon were from the letter of Paul to the Romans. They read: "Throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness. not in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh"(Rom 13:12-14).
When Augustine read this, he stopped. There was not need to go on. He says: "My heart was suddenly flooded with a light that erased all my doubts. And my soul was filled with a deep peace."
Application:
Today, as Our Lady asks, pray for the strength to continue your ongoing conversion
Medjugorje Day By Day Aug 27 - ST. MONICA
Message of August 25, 2004
"Dear children! I call you all to conversion of heart. Decide, as in the first days of my coming here, for a complete change of your life. In this way, little children, you will have the strength to kneel and to open your hearts before God. God will hear your prayers and answer them. Before God, I intercede for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call."
"We do not sin when we adore Christ in the Eucharist; we do sin when we do not adore Christ in the Eucharist." (St. Augustine)
Mother Teresa -
Total surrender consists in giving ourselves completely to God. We must give ourselves fully to God because God has given Himself fully to us. If God owes nothing to us and is ready to impart to us no less than Himself, shall we answer with just a fraction of ourselves?
Meditations by Padre Pio - In order to reach our final goal, we must follow our Divine Leader who usually leads chosen Souls by the path He Himself has trodden and by no other; by the path, I tell you, of self-denial and suffering.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
Making truth personal through solitude with God
"Only in solitariness is true spirituality born, when the soul stands naked before its God. In that moment these are the only two realities in the universe. In this discovery is born love of neighbor, for then we love our fellow human beings, not because of what they can do for us, but because we see that they too are real or potential children of God. Though truth is not personal, we make it personal by contemplation. "
We must passionately guard our passions!
"Listening to a political figure give a television report in the nation on a world crisis with somewhat the same passion that he would read off the price of cheese in Switzerland and Burma makes one wonder if there is any fire or enthusiasm left for great causes. Obviously, enthusiasm has something to do with passion. But that word generally evokes two kinds of extreme and wrong reactions: one view is that passion is something we ought to be ashamed of; the other is that passion is always right, and that if we do not give way to its demands, we hurt our personality. "
St. Faustina's diary http://www.marian. org/directory_ flash.html -
This deeper knowledge of God gives me full liberty and spiritual freedom, and nothing can disturb my close union with Him, not even the angelic powers. I feel that I am great when I am united to God. What happiness it is to have the consciousness of God in one's heart and to live in close intimacy with Him. (1135)
In the evening, He gave me to understand how fleeting all earthly things are, and [how] everything that appears great disappears like smoke, and does not give the soul freedom, but weariness. Happy the soul that understands these things and with only one foot touches the earth. My repose is to be united with You; everything else tires me. Oh, how much I feel I am in exile! I see that no one understands my interior life. You alone understand me, You who are hidden in my heart and yet are eternally alive. (1141)
Today, my soul entered into close union with the Lord. He made known to me how I should always abandon myself to His holy will: In one moment, I can give you more than you are able to desire. (1169)

Quote of the Day - Son, nothing in this world now affords me delight. I do not know what there is now for me to do or why I am still here, all my hopes in this world being now fulfilled. -St. Monica about the conversion of Augustine

AUGUST 27 - ST. MONICA
Today the Blessed Mother speaks of faith as the foundation of our lives:
From the very beginning I have been conveying the messages of God to the world. It is a great pity not to believe it. Faith is essential, but one cannot compel a person to believe. Faith is the foundation from which everything else flows (First Years December 31, 1981).
In his letter to the Hebrews, Paul defines faith:
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible (Heb 11:1-3).
Reflection:
Today we honor one of the great women of faith, St. Monica, the patroness of Christian mothers. Born in 331, she married and had children, one of whom was Augustine. She poured forth many tears and prayers for his conversion, which she witnessed in her lifetime. He later went on to become a priest, bishop, and one of the church's greatest theologians. It is appropriate that our readings today deal with faith, for this was the foundation of Monica's life and her legacy to her children.
Application:
Faith is a gift. Today, pray in thanksgiving for this most precious of gifts, and ask the Lord to deepen it.

"Glorious St. Joseph, tender-hearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of
God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father
through His Divine Son who died on the cross and
rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the
Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain
from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here
state your intention)."
Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.
Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails). Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
