"I am waiting for you"
Dear Friends,
The Victory Song
A voice coming from the throne said: “Praise our God, all you his servants, and you who revere him, small and great.” Then I heard something like the sound of a great multitude or the sound of rushing water or mighty peals of thunder, as they said: “Alleluia! The Lord has established his reign, our God, the almighty. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory.
For the wedding day of the Lamb has come, his bride has made herself ready. She was allowed to wear a bright, clean linen garment.” (The linen represents the righteous deeds of the holy ones.)
Then the angel said to me: “Write this: Blessed are those who have been called to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These words are true; they come from God.” I fell at his feet to worship him.
But he said to me, “Don’t! I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brothers who bear witness to Jesus. Worship God. Witness to Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:5–10)
Below you will find the message given by Our Lord and Savior to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words:
“All the people of the world have a great duty to worship their Creator for you are all his servants. Everything you are and have comes from the Father who created you. I was sent by the Father to earth to establish My reign as your King.
You should rejoice that I am reigning and not the evil one. I have you all at heart and I want the salvation of every one of you. However, I need your cooperation.
I am the Lamb who sacrificed His life to redeem you. This sacrifice of mine meant great suffering from the torture I received. I was beaten with ropes until I was cut all over My body and blood covered Me totally.
I was crowned with thorns and these thorns were driven into My head and this caused Me much pain. I had to carry My cross although I was very weak from the lost of blood.
At the end I was nailed to the cross and I hung there for two hours in horrible pain. I suffered all this for you, My brothers and sisters, to pay the price for your sins and to open heaven for you who believe in Me and follow Me. Now I am calling you all to the great feast I am preparing for you in heaven. I am waiting for you.”

"Keep your eyes on Me"
Dear Friends,
The Harvest of the Earth
I heard a voice from heaven say, Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, said the Spirit, ?let them find rest from their labors, for their works accompany them.? Then I looked and there was a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud one who looked like a son of man, with a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.
Another angel came out of the temple, crying out in a loud voice to the one sitting on the cloud, Use your sickle and reap the harvest, for the time to reap has come, because the earth’s harvest is fully ripe. So the one who was sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested. (Revelation 14:13?16)
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words,
One day the world will end. I will return to earth to judge the living and the dead. After that the world will be destroyed and nobody will ever live there again. It is also the end of the world for all those who die but their bodies remain on earth. They will come back to get their bodies at the Last Judgment. Then all will be judged by Me. Those who followed Me will come with Me to heaven; those who refused to follow Me will go down below.
My dear brothers and sisters, it is important that you keep this in mind. It is necessary to work hard for your salvation with My help. You need to pray every day, to fast regularly, to repent of your sins, to go to church regularly, to read the Bible, to love your brothers and sisters and to be humble.
You need to obey those I appointed to be in charge of My Church. You need to grow in holiness every day by your good works. If you do what I tell you today, you will find yourself on My right at the Last Judgment and you will be filled with joy. Keep your eyes on Me and you will not go wrong. I bless you.?

"I am always there for you"
Dear Friends,
The Devil was thrown down to Earth
Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and it angels were thrown down with it. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
Now have salvation and power come, and the kingdom or our God and the authority of his Anointed. For the accuser of our brothers is cast out, who accuses them before our God day and night.
They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of his testimony; love for life did not deter them from death. Therefore, rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them. But woe to you, earth and sea, for the Devil has come down to you in great fury, for he knows he has but a short time.? (Revelation 12:7?12)
Here below is the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words,
You all know, my brothers and sisters, that the Devil was an angel in heaven. He was created by the Father as a good angel but because of his pride, he rebelled against his Creator and he refused to serve Him.
Because of his great sin, Michael the Archangel with the power of the Father was able to throw him out of heaven to hell. However, he has power on the earth. He can tempt anyone of you and turn you against the Father. Remember he is evil and he will lead you to perdition in hell.
It is a fact that the Devil exists and you should not forget it. So put on the armor of God and never take it off. You must be a person of faith, hope and love who wants to do only the will of God in humility and with My grace you will persevere to the end if you are faithful to what the Father asks of you. Be on your guard always because the evil one is not far away and he wants you on his side. Ask Me for the graces you need to say no to the evil one and to always say yes to the Father who loves you and keeps you in being every moment of your life. Come and enter My Kingdom and you will be protected and receive My love, My peace and My joy. I am always there for you.

Be Silent!
Today we attended our usual 8:00 AM Mass at our parish where I made small offerings to Jesus and Mary and prayed for all with special needs and intentions. Before receiving the most sacred Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in the sacrament of Holy Communion, I made an Act of Contrition.
Afterwards, on my knees, I covered my face with both hands and gave thanks and praise to Jesus. Then I prayed using these words; “Speak Lord (always and only if it be His will), Your servant listens.”
Jesus responded to my heart with these words; “My child Eileen, be silent and focus on Me and remain in Me as I AM in you., Go in peace ot love and serve the Lord and continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.”
Note: I believe that Jesus is telling us to remove all outside distraction and spend time alone with Him. Without asking, without speaking (Jesus knows our heart) and feel His presence!

Our Mother’s Concern
Today I spent time alone with Jesus and made small offerings to Jesus and Mary and prayed for all with special needs and intentions, especially our friends in Haiti. I urge all who can afford $1 or $2 to pick up the telephone and call 1-800 RED CROSS.
Spending time with the Mother of Jesus, I made an offering to her and asked for her guidance and then I prayed saying “Mother if you care to speak to me your child, I am listening.” Mary our mother did respond to me saying these words; “Eileen, a mother is always joyful when her child return home to her. A mother waits and often becomes anxious that her child may become lost in the darkness (sin).
It is always a mother’s desire to protect and guide her children. Thank you for returning home to be with me, your mother.

MY DEAR DEAR PRECIOUS LITTLE CHILDREN,
HOW GRATEFUL I AM THAT YOU PERSEVERE. THERE IS MUCH TO DO WITH PRAYER, LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. THE UNITY HAS BONDED AND THOUGH ONE BE FRAIL, THE STRENGTH OF THE OTHERS SUPPORTS THAT SOUL AND HELPS TO KEEP THAT SOUL STRONG.
I HAVE SAID THAT I WOULD CHALLENGE THOSE PRIESTS WHO DO NOT STAND FOR THE TRUTH. I AM DOING THAT IN MANY WAYS AND THOSE DISTURBED BY MY WORDS HAVE MUCH TO FEAR. GOD IS ALL POWERFUL AND ALMIGHTY AND THOSE WHO PERSIST IN WAYS OF PRIDE SHALL FALL AS THOUGH STRICKEN IN THE HEART.
THOSE WHO ARE UPRIGHT AND HOLD FAST TO THE TRUTH, THOUGH THEY ARE ADMONISHED BY OTHERS, ARE STRONG AND FIRM. THESE PRIESTS SHALL FEEL THE STING OF THE WHIP, JUST AS JESUS DID IN HIS SCOURGING.
MY CHILDREN, YOU PRAY FOR PRIESTS - CONTINUE TO DO THIS FOR ALL OF THEM. PRAY THAT THOSE WHO LANGUISH IN PRIDE AND SELF, BE HUMBLED AND REPENTANT.
DEAR CHILDREN, YOU TOO MUST BE WATCHFUL. THERE ARE THOSE WHO WILL DISTORT THE TRUTH, TRYING TO PULL YOU INTO THEIR DECEPTION. BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS AND AS YOU STAND TOGETHER, YOU BREAK ALL ATTEMPTS TO DISPEL THE TRUTH.

IT’S THE YEAR OF 2010 … AND LOOK WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING… SECURITY AT AIRPORTS… ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOB, TERRORISTS ARE MORE ALERT AND ARE MORE PREPARED FOR ATTACKS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT STILL DOES NOT STOP THERE.
LIKE TODAY AN EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI, OVER 7.0 OF AN EARTHQUAKE, THEY DO NOT KNOW THE EXTENT OF THE CAUSALITIES. I WILL NOT GIVE YOU NUMBERS … BUT I WILL TELL YOU MANY, MANY LIVES WERE TAKEN. YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW BAD THIS EARTHQUAKE WAS.
FOR A HOSPITAL TO COLLAPSE, HOMES DEMOLISHED, PEOPLE ARE BURIED ALIVE … BUT FOR HOW LONG. IF PEOPLE CAN NOT CALL THIS A DISASTER … THEN WHAT WOULD THEY CALL A DISASTER

-and now …on the wall … I see … St. Padre Pio … and he’s holding The Eucharist out towards the prayer group … and They’re coming from his hand one-at-a-time to everyone in the prayer group, everyone is receiving Spiritual Communion from St. Padre Pio this evening. Including everyone on the radio internet.

"I bless you"
Dear Friends,
The Woman and the Dragon
A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on its head were seven diadems. Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth.
She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was caught up to God and his throne. The woman herself fled into the desert where she had a place prepared by God, that there she might be taken care of for twelve hundred and sixty days. (Revelation 12:1–6)
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“When I came into the world, a war broke out because the evil one ruled the whole world and now he felt challenged by Me. He wanted to kill Me and he used King Herod to try to bring this about but he failed in his attempt. My parents were told and they fled at night with Me as a baby towards the desert and we were safe there.
All through My public life the evil one made it difficult for Me. He used various people to do his dirty job. Although they tried to arrest Me at different times, they were not able to do so. It was only when the time came to offer My sacrifice on the cross that I submitted to suffer and to die for your salvation.
I let the evil one have his way for a time but I defeated him by My resurrection. I became the light of the world and all those who believe in Me come out of the darkness of the evil one into the light, My light.
My friends, do not believe those who say that Satan does not exist. He does exist and he is evil and wants to bring you all with him to hell. He is the father of lies so do not believe what comes from him. I came into the world to rescue you from the grip of Satan and to bring you into My Kingdom. Believe in Me and accept Me as your Savior and Redeemer. If you accept Me, then I am always at your side to help you. I want to bring you all with Me one day to heaven. May our friendship grow every day. I bless you.”

Dear Friends,
The Seal of the Living God
After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind could blow on land or see or against any tree. Then I saw another angel come up from the East, holding the seal of the Living God.
He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who were given power to damage the land and the sea, "Do not damage the land or the sea or the trees until we put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." I heard the number of those who had been marked with the seal, one hundred and forty-four thousand marked from every tribe of the Israelites: twelve thousand were marked from (every tribe) .
After this I had a vision of a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation, race, people, and tongue. They stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne, and from the lamb." (Revelation 7:1-5, 9-10)
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words,
"It is a fact that I have many followers in all the countries of the world. There are millions and millions of them. All those who have been baptized and follow Me have already received the seal on their foreheads. Be happy, My people, that you have received the seal of the Living God. Continue to walk with Me and you will enter heaven one day to enjoy eternal life forever.
Some who received the seal are from the twelve tribes of Israel but the largest group comes from the different nations around the world. In heaven all of them will wear white robes because they persevered in their love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They will spend their eternity praising and worshipping God.
My brothers and sisters, I call you all to leave your idols and the lures of the world behind and to make a definite step to spend the rest of your life with Me. I am always there to help you once you have taken the decision. I have many gifts to give you so come and open your heart totally to Me. I am waiting for you. I died for you."

"I Stand at the Door and Knock"
"To the angel of the church in Laodicea, write this: " 'The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the source of God's creation, says this: "I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, 'I am rich and affluent and have no need of anything,' and yet do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. Dear Friends,
Keep Yourselves in the Love of God
You, beloved, remember the words spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, for they told you, ?In the last time there will be scoffers who will live according to their own godless desires.?
These are the ones who cause divisions; they live on the natural plane, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

Dear Friends,
Prayer for Sinners
I write these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God. And we have this confidence in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked him for is ours.
If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.
We know that no one begotten by God sins; but the one begotten by God he protects, and the evil one cannot touch him. We know that we belong to God, and the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment to know the one who is true. And we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Children, be on your guard against idols. (1 John 5:13?21)

Those who are not with Me are against Me. They also commit sins and offend Me. There are two kinds of sins: venial sins and these are not deadly. You only have to pray and I will restore our friendship.
The second kind of sin is called mortal sin because it is deadly. You turn against Me and become My enemy. To return to Me, you need to humble yourself, repent sincerely of your sins and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. By doing this you will return to My friendship and I will bless you.

Dear Friends,
Faith is Victory over the world
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God, and everyone who loves the Father loves also the one begotten by him. In this way we know that we love the children of God when we love God and obey his commandments.
For the love of God is this, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome, for whoever is begotten by God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith. Who indeed is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is the one who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not by water alone, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the one that testifies, and the Spirit is truth. So there are these that testify, the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three are of one accord. If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is surely greater. Now the testimony is this, that he has testified on behalf of his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. Whoever dos not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever possesses the Son has life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:1-12)

"Faith in Me, your Savior, is necessary for salvation. You have faith if you believe in Me with all your heart. Doubt weakens faith and it can even destroy it. Remember, prayer is faith in action so you need to activate your faith every day by spending time in prayer.
If you have faith then you will accept Me as Your Savior who is the Son of God. You will know that all power has been given to Me to bring you all into My Kingdom but I need your cooperation. Let us walk together in faith, hope and love.
Pray that those who do not believe may receive this gift and that they be open to accept this precious gift. With faith you can all win the victory over the world and grow in holiness every day. I am your Brother who loves you."

"Come to Me every day"
Dear Friends,
Testing the Spirits
Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God, and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus does not belong to God.
This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in fact is already in the world. You belong to God, children, and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
They belong to the world, accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world, and the world listens to them. We belong to God, and anyone who knows God listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit. (1 John 4:1-6)

"It is important, My brothers and sisters, to know the truth about the spirits. There is the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. There are also the evil spirits with Satan as the chief among them.
These wish to turn you away from Me and to follow the ways of the world. Those who follow these evil spirits do not follow the commandments and they live an immoral life. They mock their Lord and Savior and they are filled with darkness and sin. These people will teach you that there are no sins and that all are free to do as they wish.
My friends, be aware of these evil spirits for they are spread everywhere. Their god has become money and they will do anything to put their hands on it. They do not pray and they use people for their own ends.
They need prayers and My grace to be able to come out of that pit and into the bright light of faith. Be faithful to My Church and accept the truth that She teaches you. Do not be afraid to teach the truth to those you meet and show the young the traps that are set to catch them. With My help they will avoid those traps and remain free to walk with Me. Come to Me every day. I love you."

"I am always full of mercy for you"
Dear Friends,
Confidence before God
Now this is how we shall know that we belong to the truth and reassure our hearts before him in whatever our hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in God and receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
And his commandment is this: we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another just as he commanded us. Those who keep his commandments remain in him, and he in them, and the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit that he gives us. (1 John 3:19-24)
Here is the message given by Our Lord and Savior to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words,
"How do you know that you are following My commandments? Who assures you that you are on the right path? How do you know that what you are doing is pleasing to Me? Each one of you was given a conscience by My Father and when you recollect yourself and examine your conscience, you will know whether what you have done was morally correct or not. Your conscience if it is supplied with the right information will be able to judge your actions according to the will of the Father. If you have peace in your heart, it is because you have followed My commandments. If you are disturbed, then you know that you have sinned and gone against the Will of Your Father. It is time then for you to repent.
My dear friends, I ask you to examine your conscience every day before you go to bed. If you find that you have done well during the day, the Father and I will be pleased with you. If, however, you find that you have done wrong and have not followed My teachings, then you are to repent and ask for pardon for all your sins. I am always full of mercy for you no matter what sin you have committed provided you repent with all your heart. I bless you."

Jan 16 - HAVE CONFIDENCE IN ME
In answer to the visionaries doubts as to whether they would be strong enough to endure, the Virgin said:
You will be able to, my angels. Do not fear. You will be able to endure everything. You must believe and have confidence in me (First Years June 29, 1981).
Jesus also prepared his disciples for persecution:
See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of them, for they will hand you over to councils and flog you in their synagogues; and you will be dragged before governors and kings because of me, as a testimony to them and the Gentiles. You will be hated by all because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved (Mt 10:16-18; 22).
Reflection:
Today both Christ and Our Lady speak of endurance in the midst of persecution, not only for the individual, but for the Church as a whole. Almost every nation on earth has record of Catholics who suffered and died in the name of the Christian religion.
Elizabethan England, for example, saw the ruthless persecution of Catholics who took enormous risks to practice their faith. The issues were clear, a kingdom or state determined to crush the Catholic religion as something manifestly opposed to its goals, and a threat to its principles.
In more recent times, Nazi Germany also recognized the threat presented by the Church, as was attested by the presence of over 2,000 priests in Dachau alone. During the Cold War, Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union had an appalling number of Catholics and Christians who suffered severely for their faith, and usually the issues were as clearly defined as before: they represented a threat to a state determined to exterminate their ways and attitudes.
But the persecutions have never succeeded, although today they are more subtle and so, more dangerous. They take the form of a gradual wearing away of Christian values and beliefs by constant exposure to a hedonistic and materialistic culture through the mass media, the cinema, the arts, and even the courts.
Application:
Persecution is not always overt; do not be robbed of your faith through stealth. Stay close to Our Lady, live her messages. Remember her encouraging words today, "You will be able to endure everything. You must believe and have confidence in me."

Reflection: The great Austrian composer, Franz Josef Haydn, once said,"When I think upon my God, my heart is so full of joy that the notes dance and leap from my pen; and since God has given me a cheerful heart, it will be pardoned me that I serve him with a cheerful spirit."
Joy is the echo of God's love within us. To the degree that we can comprehend his love, through prayer, the deeper our joy will be. Marija Pavolovic, one of the Medjugorje visionaries, says that, "God's love is very great, and in his love he has created us. We are the fruit of his love. God has given us a special gift,: he wants to love us more than himself… He created us to respond to his love."

Jan 14 With regard to what we can do for the sick, the Virgin said :
"Pray, pray and believe firmly. Say the prayers which have already been requested. [7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys & 7 Glory Bes and the Creed. Do more penance. (First Years April 15, 1982).
Healing the sick was a major part of Christ's ministry on earth:
When Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever; he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and began to serve him. That evening they brought to him many who were possessed with demons; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and cured all who were sick(Mt 8:14-16).
Reflection:
Rather than speak of the sick, let us today simply pray for them as Our Lady asks. The following prayer was given to Jelena, the locutionist, by the Madonna. She said that it was the most beautiful prayer that could be offered for those who are ill.
Application:
Today, offer the following Prayers for the Sick: O my God, behold your sick child before you. Heed his special request, that which he feels is most important for him. May you, my Lord, entrust to his heart these words: "The health of the soul, too, is vital."
Lord, may your will be done in him; if you choose his healing, may he be cured; if you choose another blessing, may he bear his cross with love.
I also pray to you for all who intercede for him. Purify our hearts that we many worthily convey your holy mercy.
Protect your child, relieve his pain, that your will may be done in him, and that your presence and love may be revealed through him. Grant him the grace to bear his cross with courage. Amen.

Jan 13 - HOLD ON IN YOUR SUFFERING
Our Lady speaks today of perseverance and suffering as especially touching the heart of her Son:
Thanks to all of you who have come here, so numerous during this year, in spite of snow, ice and bad weather, to pray to Jesus. Continue, hold on in your suffering.
You know well that when a friend asks you something, you give it to him. It is thus with Jesus. When you pray without ceasing and you come in spite of your tiredness, he will give you all that you ask from him. For that pray. Suffering leads us to the heart of Christ (Locutionists Jelena & Mirjana December 1, 1983).
In this passage from 1 Peter, suffering is presented as a positive and redemptive force when linked to the passion of Christ:
For it is a credit to you if, being aware of God, you endure pain while suffering unjustly. If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, what credit is that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God's approval. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you as example, so that you should follow in his steps (1 Pt 2:19-21).
Reflection:
During the First World War, a village behind the lines in the Somme Valley had been repeatedly shelled, and there were many civilian casualties. The church too had been damaged, but it was the largest building available for an emergency hospital. The altar was turned into an improvised operating table.
One of the casualties brought in by stretcher was a young soldier who belonged to the village and was home on leave. He was badly wounded and his leg would have to come off at once. "You'll have to be brave", said the doctor, "I'm afraid this is going to be painful. We've got no anesthetic; it was all destroyed when the hospital was hit."
The young man looked at the "surgical altar", and pointed with his head towards the large crucifix over it. "I'll be all right on the altar", he said. "So long as I can look at him, I'll manage."
With Jesus Christ, all things are bearable, and even acquire a redemptive value when linked to his cross. For the Christian there is no empty pain; it is transformed with Christ's into a path to salvation.
Application:
Offer a prayer to the Lord today giving him any annoyances, discomfort, or pain you may experience. Try to make this a daily offering

August 9, 1934. Night adoration on Thursdays. I made my hour of adoration from eleven o'clock till midnight. I offered it for the conversion of hardened sinners, especially for those who have lost hope in God's mercy. I was reflecting on how much God had suffered and on how great was the love He had shown for us, and on the fact that we still do not believe that God loves us so much.
O Jesus, who can understand this? What suffering it is for our Savior! How can He convince us of His love if even His death cannot convince us? I called upon the whole of heaven to join me in making amends to the Lord for the ingratitude of certain souls. (319)

Jan 12 - ADVANCE AGAINST SATAN
The Blessed Mother never mentions Satan without identifying the means to defeat him:
Dear children, today I call you especially now to advance against Satan by means of prayer. Satan wants to work still more now that you know he is at work. Dear Children, put on the armor for battle and with the rosary in your hand, defeat him! (Weekly Message August 8, 1985).
Jesus also speaks of defeating the Evil One:
Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his property, without first tying up the strong man? Then indeed the house can be plundered. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters (Mt 12:29-30).
Reflection:
Binding Satan is always a matter of faith and prayer, yet it also helps to be aware of his strategies, such as the following:
Five Ploys of Satan
Doubt - Tempts us to question God's Word and his goodness, forgiveness, and love
Discouragement - Tempts us to focus intently on our problems rather than entrusting them to God's care
Diversion - Tempts us to see the wrong things as attractive so that we will want them more than the right things
Defeat - Tempts us to feel like failure so that we don't even try
Delay - Tempts us to procrastinate so that things never get done
Application:
Reflect on these ploys of Satan, and if you find that he has darkened your life on any of these counts, lift up the situation to Our Lady in prayer. Recall her advice on binding the evil one: "Put on the armor of battle. With the rosary in your hand, defeat him!"

(Jn 1:29-33): John the Baptist saw Jesus and exclaimed "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." "It is He who will baptize with The Holy Spirit."
When we go to "The Lamb," Jesus in The Holy Eucharist, we ask for grace to live out our Baptismal calling as faithful children of The Father. With each Hail Mary we pray—to be open to receiving the gifts of The Holy Spirit (from our A-13 Rosary pamphlet).

Jan 11 - BE CONVERTED
Concerning the urgency of conversion, Our Lady said in a locution to Jelena:
Hurry to be converted. Do not wait for the great sign. For the unbelievers, it will then be too late to be converted. For you who have the faith, this time constitutes a great opportunity for you to be converted, and to deepen your faith (locutionist Jelena & Mirjana after December 15, 1982).
Jesus also speaks of the pressing need for conversion:
The people of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the proclamation of Jonah, and see, something greater than Jonah is here! (Mt 12:41).
Reflection:
In the ancient ruins of Pompeii, there was found a petrified woman who, instead of trying to flee from the city, had spent her time in gathering up her jewels. In one of the houses was found the skeleton of a man who, for the sake of a few coins, a small plate and a saucepan of silver, had remained in his house until the street was half-filled with volcanic matter, then was trying to escape from the window.
Because life (and death) is built around priorities, both Christ and his Mother press us to put God and the spiritual first in our lives. This boils down to the various decisions we make every day.
Deciding for God, or conversion, is an ongoing process. Little decisions build on one another, for good or bad. That is why Our Lady says to, "hurry to be converted…to deepen your faith", for it is a gradual process, rarely occurring overnight.
Application:
In the decisions and choices you make today, try to be aware of the Lord's presence and what would please him.

"After a body is surfeited with pleasures, it reaches a point where there is less satisfaction in the pleasure than in the pursuit of it. Not to be someplace, but the thrill of speeding there, becomes the goal of life. Joyce Kilmer in his delightful poem `Pennies' pictures a boy holding some pennies in his hand. The pleasure of getting them is all gone and he is bored with their possession. Suddenly he drops his pennies; seeing them scatter and roll about, all his zest for acquiring them returns.
When the pennies no longer satisfied, he substituted the new pleasure of hunting for them. There is not a millionaire who did not say: `I will retire when I get a million.' The million bored him; only then did he realize that his pleasure was not in having money, but in pursuing it."
The third attribute is love and mercy. And I understood that the greatest attribute is love and mercy. It unites the creature with the Creator. This immense love and abyss of mercy are made known in the Incarnation of the Word and in the Redemption [of humanity], and it is here that I saw this as the greatest of all God's attributes. (180)

Jan 10 - I WISH TO GIVE EVERYTHING
Today the Blessed Mother speaks of her fondest desire:
Dear children, I would like for the whole world to be my child, but it does not want it. I wish to give everything for the world. For that, pray (Locutionists Jelena & Mirjana March 1982).
Jesus also wishes the whole world to be his child:
Then little children were being brought to him in order that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to those who brought them; but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." And he laid his hands on them and went on his way (Mt 19 :13-15).
Reflection:
All of the Madonna's messages to the world begin with the endearing, "Dear children", for that is what we are in her eyes, and in the eyes of her Son. The visionary Mirjana once said that, "The Gospa led us to understand that she is our real mother. Later, as time went on and we began to be comfortable with her, we were able to speak to her as our mother about our problems and all our desires."
Ivanka, another of the seers, affirmed that the Virgin, "loves every person on earth. We are all her children." She adds that, "I know from my years with the Blessed Mother how very much she, as our mother, loves each one of us."
Jakov also speaks of this love: "It is beyond our comprehension now", he says, "to understand how very much she loves each person on the earth." He says that many neglect their heavenly Mother because they don't know they have one, and yet, "the Blessed Mother is not neglecting any one of her children. She is faithful to God. She loves and nurtures and prays for each of her children on earth, whether they know it or not."
Application:
Close your eyes and with your imagination, picture yourself as a child again in the presence of the Blessed Mother, perhaps sitting on her knee or holding her hand. Imagine what you would say to her. What would she say to you? This also is a form of prayer

Children of Humanity,
You were created through Love to love. Your vocation is to love. How easily you become distracted. You desire changes and are quick to respond to any person or situation if it lifts your spirit in a self-serving way.
You all seem to desire to be loved and accepted. The irony is that you were created for this actual reality, that being to love. The communion with humanity and God through Love is your center of happiness and freedom.
You lose your focus by missing your opportunity of serving and loving people, whether in need or otherwise. The only tool at your disposal is the fundamental act that you can to decide to love or decide to hate. Indifference will lead to hate because it is a poisonous venom. Your free will was a gift to grant you freedom, but you have chosen to endure hardships by ignoring the Truth of Love.
I am Love, and it was through My Love that you exist. To continue to exist, you must also love, or your existence will be short-lived and will lead to destruction. If you fear difficulties now, how much more will you fear them when they surface later?
I have given you graces and opportunities to multiply in My Love. I cautioned you to beware and to live your vocations in Truth. That vocation is Love, for you are nothing without Love. You are nothing without Me; for I am Love. I Am!

Lovely one of the Most High, we come to you today with encouragement for the children of the lands. My people are understanding the times and the great need for prayer. My hand has lessened the turmoil.
You My children pray for Me to open up your ears and pin them to the door (in Deuteronomy) You will not miss a word I have for you. Open up your eyes that you can see all the good and the evil.
A word for the precious women of God in the lands: My women of the lands you keep your households in peace. Do not let evil into your households. Keep yourselves in prayer and close to Me, Your Father. I have you in the palm of My hand and protect you.
Call on My Blessed Mary for I have placed Her as Queen of Heaven there for you, My lovely daughters. She is a protector and confidant to hear your petitions and when She comes to Me I never turn Her down. Keep your hearts pure before Me and I, Your Father, will move mountains for you My daughters.
Precious Women of God carry My Sons peace with your every moment. Your Father who loves you.

I call Moslem, Christian and Jew to unite in Holy Love. There are extremists in the nation of Islam that promote a religion of terror, which is not of God. Violence is inspired by evil. Any secret organization which operates covertly is inspired by the occult, and must come into the Light of Truth which is Holy Love."

Jan 8 - A TRANSFIGURED BODY
Today Our Lady speaks of the kingdom of heaven in answer to questions by the visionaries :
We go to heaven in full conscience : that which we have now. At the moment of death, we are conscious of the separation of the body and the soul. It is false to teach people that we are reborn many times and that we pass to different bodies. One is born only once.
The body, drawn from the earth decomposes after death. It never comes back to life again. Man receives a transfigured body (First Years July 24, 1982). When speaking of heaven, Jesus liked to use analogies such as the following :
The kingdom of heave is like treasure hidden in a field,which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heave is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; an finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought (Mt 13 :44-46).
Reflection :
The visionary Mirjana describes the vision of heaven the Virgin gave her in this way:
The first thing I noticed were the faces of the people there; they were radiating a type of inner light which shoed how immensely happy they were…The trees, the meadows, the sky are totally different from anything we know on the earth. And the light is much more brilliant. Heaven is beautiful beyond any possible comparison with anything I know of on the earth.
Mirjana goes on to speak of the people there, concluding with, " They have everything. They need or want nothing. They are totally full. "
Vicka, another of the visionaries who were shown heaven, describes it as, "a vast space, and it has a brilliant light which does not leave it. It is a life which we do not know here on earth…People in heaven
know the absolute fullness of a created being. "
And a last not on heaven by little Jakov : " If I thought about it too much, I would die of loneliness."
Application :
Reflect on the following today : " See, this kingdom of God is now found within us. The grace of the Holy Spirit shines forth and warms us, and, overflowing with many varied scents into the air around us, regales our senses with heavenly delight, as it fills our hearts with joy inexpressible " (Seraphim of Sarov).

Jan 9 - THEY DO NOT REPENT
In response to a question by Mirjana as to how God could send anyone to hell.
Our Lady responded:
Men who go to hell no longer want to receive any benefit from God. They do not repent nor do they cease to blaspheme. They make up their minds to live in hell and do not contemplate leaving it (Special Message Jan 1, 1983).
In the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, Jesus also alludes to the reality of hell:
The poor man died and was carried away by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was being tormented, he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side (Lk 16:22-23).
Reflection:
The word "hell" was translated from the word "Gehenna", which was named after the Hinnon Valley, where in times past children had been sacrificed by fire to the pagan gods. It was a term that evoked horror.
Concerning hell, which the Madonna had shown her, Vicka relates:
In the center of this place is a great fire, like an ocean of raging flames. We could see people before they went into the fire, and then we could see them coming out of the fire. Before they go in, they look like normal people. The more they are against God's will, the deeper they enter into the fire, and the deeper they go, the more they rage against him.
When they come out of the fire, they don't have a human shape anymore; they are more like grotesque animals, but unlike anything on earth. It's as if they were never human beings before.
Vicka echoes the Blessed Virgin when she says, of those choosing hell, "they deny God, even when it is time to die. And they continue to deny him, after they are dead. It is their choice. It is their will that they go to hell. They choose hell."
Application:
We can choose one of two paths in our lives: to become even more humane, compassionate, and loving, or become ever more inhumane, cruel, animal-like. In prayer today, tell the Lord again of your choice for him; ask him for the help and grace you will need to achieve perfect love, or heaven.

What Would You Like to Hear?
Three friends die in a car accident, and upon their arrival to heaven, they are all asked, "When you are in your casket and family and friends are mourning upon you, what would you like to hear them say about you?"
The first man says, "I would like to hear them say that I was a great doctor of my time, and a great family man."
The second man says, "I would like to hear that I was a wonderful husband and school teacher who made a huge difference in our children of tomorrow."
The last man replies, "I would like to hear them say, 'LOOK! HE'S MOVING!'"

Jan 7 - DEEPEN YOUR FAITH
The Blessed Mother speaks today of deepening our faith:
For you who have the faith, this time constitutes a great opportunity for you to be converted, and to deepen your faith (Locutionists Jelena & Mirjana December 15, 1982).
And Jesus speaks of the great power of faith:
He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move form here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you" (Mt 17:20).
Reflection:
There is a story of the poet Coleridge who one day listened to a visitor's vehement argument against religious education of the young. His acquaintance had concluded with a statement of his determination not to prejudice his children toward any faith or religion, but to let them make up their own minds when thy reached maturity.
Coleridge made no immediate comment, but shortly afterwards asked this same visitor if he would like to see his garden. Receiving a positive response, he led his guest to a strip of lawn that was overgrown with weeds.
"Why, this is no garden. It's nothing but a weed patch", said his guest.
"Oh", replied Coleridge, "that's because it hasn't come to its maturity yet. The weeds, you see, have taken the opportunity to grow, and I thought it would be unfair of me to prejudice the soil toward roses and strawberries" .
Clearly one of the responsibilities of faith is to pass it on to the next generation. If we believe it to be the most precious of gifts, as Jesus and his Mother teach us today, then we will be anxious to share it with others, especially those closest to us.

Jan 6 - LIFE WILL FLOW FROM YOUR HEARTS
The following locution was received by Jelena Vasilj for her prayer group:
If you pray, a source of life will flow from your hearts. If you pray with strength, if you pray with faith, you will receive graces from this source, and your group will be strengthened (Locutionists Jelena & Mirjana October 24, 1983).
Jesus speaks of group prayer in the following passage from scripture:
Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about everything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them (Mt 18:19-20).
Reflection:
In Medjugorje, Our Lady has made a point of encouraging group prayer, and has founded two prayer groups herself, one led by Ivan and Marija, the other by the two young locutionists, Jelena and Mirjana Vasilj.
Concerning such groups, Ivan has said, "The Gospa would like prayer groups throughout the world. Through prayer we come to know God, and there is much power in group prayer".
With regard to the organization of such groups, Ivan emphasizes the importance of a dedicated and reliable leader. Also, he says, "the prayer group should have a definite goal. The members should have a reason to meet and pray and fast". The goal of his own group is to help the Blessed Virgin to achieve God's plans, no less than the conversion of the world. "We do this", he says, "through living the messages and encouraging others to live them."
Application:
Have you considered joining a prayer group in your local area, or perhaps starting one if none exist? You could count on an array of blessings from the Mother of God in doing so.

Jan 3 - PERSEVERE IN FASTING
Our Lady has a special request for us in the new year:
Pray as much as possible and fast. You must persevere in prayer and fasting. I wish that the new year be spent in prayer and penance. Persevere in prayer and in sacrifice, for I will protect you and always hear your prayers (First Years December 31, 1982).
Fasting was an ancient practice among the Israelites. The following passage from the Book of Ezra dates from 500 B.C.:
Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might deny ourselves before our God, to seek from him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and all our possessions (Ezr 8:21).
Reflection:
Fasting is perhaps the most difficult teaching from Medjugorje, but its fruits are so astonishing that it deserves our special attention. Consider the following:
Through fasting and prayer, one can stop wars, one can suspend the laws of nature (First Years July 21, 1982).
Pray and fast that the kingdom of God may appear in your midst? (First Years March 14, 1984).
Dear children, today I call on you to begin fasting with your heart? (Weekly Message September 20, 1984).
Live the message of fasting, for by it you will achieve God's plans in Medjugorje? (Weekly Message September 26, 1985).
Pray and fast, for I wish to purify your hearts completely. I wish to make you happy (Locution Jelena & Mir Jana February 14, 1984).
We will look at fasting again later in the year, but for now, it is important for us to recognize it as one of the primary messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje, a message that brings extraordinary gifts of grace to all who practice it.
Application:
Today, make a decision to fast next Friday. It is perfectly all right to begin small perhaps by skipping one meal, foregoing a favorite food, or drinking tea instead of coffee; the important thing is to make a start. Don't forget to offer your fast for one of your prayer intentions.

All of Heaven prays for and desires your victory, your ability to be all you will be needed (to be) by these people. This will be no small task, My children; and it will be an enormous change in the way you are living.
There will be very little peace.
There will be very little quiet.
There will be total difference in the way you live, from the way you have ever been.
I mention these things again, My children, because of the need for
practice with each other.
My children, I love you. Remember this: We are with you, hoping to enable you as you are more aware of Our presence. My dear ones, you are so precious to Me. Believe this. My Mother and I bless you this day in the Name of My Father, and in My Name, and in the Name of Our Holy Spirit.
